I would have never thought of cloves, apple sauce, and sugar. Interesting. Thanks so much. I will have to try your recipe and order your egg steep. Thanks so much. I found out from 23&ME that I'm 30% German. Maybe this is why I love Kraut so much, lol.
I miss mom's cooking and her sauerkraut. She made a couple of types, one as shown in this video and another creamy sauerkraut that was darker and sweeter. I will have to look in her very old Austrian cookbook. Perfect music by the way.
Many thanks for this show. I love german dishes, and nowmore we also have LIDL, in Sweden, and have access to real bratwurst, as well as sauerkraut in tins. Love!
Sir, I live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania USA. I fully enjoyed your video and recipe here, for your delicious SourKraut! Im going to try your recipe soon. I use a brand of jarred SourKraut, made in Germany, “Kuhne.” Have you heard of this brand, or tried this brand before? Well, I send good wishes to you, and Happy New Year 2023! God bless you.
Made this recipe yesterday, it was delicious, but in all my time in Germany, I never experienced anything like it. Is this recipe common in some parts of Germany, I was stationed in Zweibrucken in the early 70’s for a year, and I’ve been back many times, but tasted nothing like this.
Ive decided, yup, i need to make this tomorrow. I already have kraut. I was going to make some from scratch but ill just rinse some FRANKS. I cant wait to try this. Cant wait!
Im an American, but my mom would cook this all the time as a kid, she called it German night lol

It is popular in Lübeck Germany
Title implies you'd be teaching how to MAKE SAURKRAUT. And that you're a grandmother.
Thanks
