I agree. I early upgraded with the Verizon Wireless for my 13 Pro Max, my 15 pro. Couldn’t be any happier. I should say that I have an iPad 9 at home and I don’t need to big screen devices anymore. It was overwhelming and a waste from me. My natural 15 pro is perfect curved edges easy to one hand, Fast, cameras are a bit sharper, etc.
The 13 mini is the best phone out there. To me large phones are unpractical I don’t understand the hype. I need something that I can use one handed and doesn’t weigh down my pocket, I have a iPad for media content. I don’t take pics everyday the camera is just fine for my needs. The battery gets me through a work day with 50% and it charges very fast to, I have a battery pack for travel but rarely had to use it. The trade offs do not outweigh its practicability, it’s an amazing phone.
I have the option to buy the 13 or the mini for the same price $500.... Only thing holding me back is the battery life and your comment is pushing me towards the mini

Exactly. When I bought the Mini, I was surprised that my smartphone's battery lasted for a day and a half. And I have two SIM cards, I normally make calls, write text messages, check e-mails, sometimes I play some puzzles on the tram. I don't know what needs to be done on this phone to make it convenient to charge it twice a day.
That’s ironic. I just did the exact same thing. Traded in my 13 Mini and “upgraded” to the 15 Pro Max and now just re-upgraded to the 13 Mini. No way am I going another year without one. No more tea trays for me.
Been using my 13 mini for a little over 2 years now. I just use it for taking pics, personal stuff and work comms. To prolong it's batt life I purchased an android phone for high batt consumption apps such as waze, spotify, netflix, vid calls and gaming. I'll be holding on to my 13 mini til apple releases another phone in this size. It's just amazing.
@jeevanandham07 nope. It's a form of manual security as well. The sim card that's connected to my bank accounts and other financial apps are inside the other phone. So when it receives OTPs and such, I'll need to have my other phone with me as well to be able to move money online. Also, when one of the phones gets stolen or lost, it'll be impossible for whoever has or stole the phone to move money without the other phone.
Whether the iphone 13 mini "doesn't stack up" is all subjective. As many others have pointed out, we started with small iPhones being the standard. It's marketing and the desire to own the latest, newest model that has many people wagging around huge, bulky, almost-tablet sized phones. I LOVE the 13 mini's compact form factor. I plop it in my pocket and almost forget it's there. That's priceless. The phone is still incredibly powerful and easily performs every task I ask of it. I'm keeping my 13 mini for as long as possible. I refuse to carry around a brick of a phone.
i was CRUSHED when they discontinued the "mini" series. I have really tiny hands, so when i have a bigger phone, I'm constantly fallling out of my hands.
I will never go back to an oversized phone. A new SE ... we'll see. But it would have to be significantly better than the 13 mini to make me change. (Disclaimer: I don't make my living as a photographer, but if I did, I doubt that I would be counting on a phone camera to make my career.)
Samsung here. I WISH they made a well featured mini size S23. When I had my Mini 13 I really enjoyed it. It made me use phone less. More stratified experience.
Apple claimed the 12 and 13 mini didn't sell well but in my opinion, they didn't give it enough time to catch on. Because you see so many "downgrading" to the 13 mini. There's a reason for that. So many people like me prefer more compact phones and don't want a huge brick in their pocket. Yes battery life will be the trade off compared to huge phones but otherwise the 13 mini is one of the best iPhones ever made. I still say Apple made a HUGE mistake killing off the mini line. If they had figured out making the battery life longer then long term Apple would've sold way more minis.
Doesn’t help Apple expected people to constantly upgrade their phones year for year. Like... there’s no reason to do that to begin with since there aren’t many new features. And power upgrades are even more incremental than they used to be. If they cut their iPhone iterations to a three year generation cycle instead of an annual one, then these kind of phones would’ve found an audience. It would cut on costs as well. That would be a win-win.
Not sure where you get that the next SE will be a mini iPhone; in fact the rumors I've read indicate that it would be in the 6"+ range in terms of screen size. Hope you're correct, though!
Iphone did not go wrong with iphone mini as a product, it got wrong with pricing. I own a mini12 and would totally pay a premium of a mini16.Just looking at the demographics of who stick to it, there is clearly a a market for it
Unfortunately it’s rumored that the SE 4 will have an iPhone 14 body design but with just a single camera module on the back. Would love to see an iPhone SE with the mini design. Not sure why they’re thinking of updating it with a bigger body design. In my opinion if people want that size then just spend the extra money for the bigger ones.
I would love if they split the difference and used the X body for the next SE. The mini is a little too small and the 15 is a little too big. The X was the perfect middle ground.
It’s like missing something that hasn’t been seen in a long time, the 13mini is great as a macbook or ipad companion gadget. If it’s the main thing it’s a big problem, especially those who work outdoors
I remember some reviews from the 12-13 mini phones that said they weren't a phone for the pandemic and that really holds true today. We were on our devices a lot at that time, and its small size didn't fit in that ethos, but if it was released now with the rise of social media deniers, marketed mainly as a camera iPhone and as the cheaper model at release, it would be more well received, I reckon.
I’ve been all over the place. 12 Mini, 14 Pro, 13 Mini, 14 Pro, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max. I like the mini a lot, but practically for me it just doesn’t make sense.
I’ve been using the 13 mini since release and I adore it! The practicality and reliability of it really just makes it the best phone for me. IOS still runs like butter, all my apps are supported, and I can store everything I could ever need in something that fits in just about any pocket. And, though the super flat sides are not the most comfortable, they work really well on a phone this small, adding to the one-handedness. To me, the battery is fine, and I easily make it through a day if I’m working, though on my days off I usually need a top up, which just reminds me to use the phone less, and be more present. It’s a solid tool, it’s cute, and I adore it.
I’m still rocking my iPhone 12 mini and honestly I need Apple to bring out an iPhone, mini PRO! I am a little frustrated with my 12 mini because that is the only lightning port device that I have had where the charge port failed… and I have much older devices that haven’t had any issues so I now have to rely on wireless charging. I’m contemplating on repairing lightning port because I don’t really like wireless charging.
I’ve got a 15 pro. Kinda wanna get the 13 mini as secondary is it worth it? Ik i wont be able to sell this 15 pro and use a 13 mini fully as im used to many features of this phone that’s missing on the 13 mini ?
You guys are lucky, in Germany the cheapest new 13 mini on the Internet I could find is 670€, and 1k on Amazon. For cheap sub 300 I'd instantly buy it, but they just aren't worth what sellers are looking for here 🤣
Yeah for sure. I got the 14 pro max about a year ago and everything about the phone is amazing… except the size… I don’t even have small hands and I find myself almost dropping it and uncomfortable to use sometimes. Definitely going to be downsizing back to the pro or just regular soon.
Adored my 13 Mini but upgraded last year for to the 15 Pro. The battery life is so much better which was the only thing I didn't like about the Mini. I do miss the easy one handedness. The 15 Pro is a drop magnet without a case. I do hope the SE 4 rumours are true.
I’m still using first gen SE, planning on to change to 13 mini, but they discontinued 😂 I cannot use big phone, I can’t hold it and oftentimes throw it accidentally 😢.
Me too. I have 4 x 1st Gen iphone SE. I have got an 13 mini on order only because the ios 15 updates are getting rather infrequent, and the app developers were dropping support for ios 15. The 13 mini is a backup. My iphone SE 1st Gen stay the daily driver. The other phones are too big for my hands and pockets!
I switched sides for the mini. Samsung for years. Since s4. S5 s7 s10 s20 s22 then Samsung removed sd card expandable memory. They also still use 256gb as the highest the base model can go up to. This made me look at thd mini series because i loved my s10e. Once i used an iphone mini 12 i ordered a mini 13. I will use this 13 until software is no longee supported. Samsung should have focused on what customers want and not removing features. Been using apple one year now.
when the 13 line came out i wanted to get the iphone 13 pro or pro max in serria blue. but i wasnt due for an upgrade. then when i upgraded i got a better deal with my iphone 13 which i am still using
The issue was that Apple didn't give it all the top features. It they bring it back they should give it the Dynamic Island, and refresh it every 2 years. Also I'm surprise Apple hasn't done a iPhone Classic, silver back, black bar in the bottom, rounded/ curved phone like the original. But have it be the size of the mini. I think that will sell well.
Its just about what you have tbh. Get a phone and use it. Dont matter which one, just get what you can afford and use it, and if there isn't a truly substancial difference in the newer phones, then dont get them. Lets be honest, we all just call, text, and consume content/browes the web on our phones. You do not need a 15 quintillion zoom mega camera with 110 million megapixels to take a picture of your baby neice. Just use what you got, enjoy it, and when it stops working or a new phone that actually makes a difference in how you use the device comes out, upgrade.
The rumors point to the SE 4 not being small and being 6.1 inches so if you're looking for a small phone, the 13 mini is the best you'll get. On the android side, you get the zenfone 9 and 10 but both of those are significantly bigger than the 12/13 minis, although the battery life is amazing on both those phones
Upgraded from the XS to a mint condition Product Red 13 Mini back in January. I knew I was swapping my XS this year, as i thought it was about to lose the latest iOS, but its battery health (or lack of it) hastened the upgrade. Using a bumper and MagSafe grip - not a fan of full cases - and have got myself quite a few MagSafe accessories. These include a portable charging stand that I can use on the go, and to trigger Standby Mode when l'm home. Strange to think that this 'Mini' iPhone has the same footprint as my iPhone 7. How times have changed. Thanks for the content!
You don't understand the point of the Mini. Some people cannot stand to use large phones, 6.1" included. To conclude that it's better to just get an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max or wait for a 6.1" SE 4 only takes into account battery life and software. It doesn't even consider feel in hand, reachability, etc that makes the Mini great and, more importantly, unique.
The most compelling thing about this wonderful video is how you close it: saying to keep an eye out for the SE4. This is the dilemma I am facing. I am here because I want to buy a refurbished mini, but am seriously wondering whether the SE4 is going to be close enough but with added amenities of USB C and better battery. Now that the specs on the SE4 have been released since the making of this video, what are your thoughts?
😬 Noted - it kinda ran away with itself whilst I was putting it together! Kinda happens when I really dig the brands I'm talking about, and stoked to have them work with me! But legit, I enjoy reading their emails & reading their content :) haha!
I bought an iPhone 13 Mini to act as a mobile, iPod, a Blackberry and a Polaroid camera - iOS Polaroid printer. I like it as it can fit easily in a trouser pocket and it's just for snapshots. I have a mag-safe powerbank as a backup; I bought an iPad in lockdown so you use that for RUclips and apps. I use my Oly E-M10 + Leica 25mm Summilux for anything other than snapshots; prefer the Leica tonality/micro-contrast/shallow DOF/low-light...
So guys, I think we can have the answer to why Apple stopped the iPhone mini. It’s not because it did not sell enough phones, it’s because people buying the 13 mini use their phones less, All big companies want one thing, your attention ! No wonder why they also killed the classic iPods…
a little over 2 weeks ago i got the iphone 15 pro max. i got an amazing trade in deal with my carrier on my 13 an instant credit of 999USD so im only leasing the 15 pro max for about 3USD a month for 3 years
APPLE NEEDS THE LINE UP OF iPhone Mini , iPhone, iPhone Pro , iPhone Pro Max . .. I call that perfect .. gives you a budget phone to use older/previous processors , Segways into a regular size , then Pro versions for better cameras or bigger screen size .. its a win/win allocating budgets and driving sales for those whom prefer bigger screen size and a comfortable middle with iPhone or iPhone Pro..P.S I love my 13Mini ..
Just curious how is it that battery life doesn't last long for people on day to day use? Like how long are people spending on the phone?? With work all day, I'm barely on my phone in the mornings since I am working!!!! then in the afternoon I still have more than plenty of juice. Get off the phone people!!!
People are too in love with social media, that a smaller phone is now seen as healthy because they won't spent as much time on it as before. The smaller phone is just more comfortable to use daily. For me easier to text, and have with em all the time. Yes it'll help some be off social media.
When the iphone 13 lineup came out I tried out the 13 mini for a few days and my experience was mixed, yes I liked the size of the mini but with my eyesight not being the greatest it was difficult to do any reading on the 13 mini screen which is what ultimately made me return the 13 mini and picked up the base model iphone 12
I've had a fair few variations of these models since iPhone 6 and quite frankly I've loved every phone I've had regardless of it's size or specs, imo if it's an iPhone in my hand I'm more than happy. I had many Androids before my first iPhone which was a 6, I never gelled with Android indeed hated them all the way. Give me an iPhone anyday, any model will do, just make it an iPhone.
I've got the 15 pro max and love it. Always on display, action button (I use it to launch a menu of shortcuts including AOD toggle, list my current 5 audible listens...). But I wanted a smaller phone as well as I have 2 numbers (my android phones have run out of OS and security updates). So, I splashed out on a white iPhone Mini 13. Loving it!
"It is going to be like an iPhone 14 or 15 but small..." Err... we all know that iPhone 14 and 15 are small so why add the word "But"? I was kinda stuck trying to process what you were trying to deliver. And how is the iPhone 13 Mini is very similar to the upcoming iPhone SE 4 when, again, we all know that it is going to use the iPhone 14 6.1" shell? iPhone SE 4 is at 6.1 inch bigger and only has 1 rear camera compare to 13 mini at 5.4 inch smaller and has 2 rear cameras... Where is the similarity...😑
13 is the legend It’s the most comfortable phone hands down. It’s the only one hander in existence, other phones used with one hand give you cramps. It’s the most aesthetic phone out there. I carry it in clean new silicone cases and get compliments all the time. People ask to grab it of how cool and toyish it looks and feels.
Just bought my wife's old one off her as she upgraded to the 16... I'm moving from a Pixel 8 Pro so be interesting to see how it goes. Using it as a digital detox experiment. Lord knows if it will work. 😅

Yeah for sure. I got the 14 pro max about a year ago and everything about the phone is amazing… except the size… I don’t even have small hands and I find myself almost dropping it and uncomfortable to use sometimes. Definitely going to be downsizing back to the pro or just regular soon.
I have been using 12 mini as my personal phone and an Android as work phone. The combination works wonderfully for me.
Adored my 13 Mini but upgraded last year for to the 15 Pro. The battery life is so much better which was the only thing I didn't like about the Mini. I do miss the easy one handedness. The 15 Pro is a drop magnet without a case.
I do hope the SE 4 rumours are true.
If the mini 13 doesn’t have enough battery life for you, you need to go outside and touch the grass
Apple should realize that people with small hands like the mini version, specially for woman and kids.
i have iPhone 13 thinking to upgrade to 15 pro max should i upgrade or wait for 16 pro max ?
I’m still using first gen SE, planning on to change to 13 mini, but they discontinued 😂
I cannot use big phone, I can’t hold it and oftentimes throw it accidentally 😢.
Large phones are a joke.
The iPhone 13 mini isn't even that small, the screen size is 5.42 inches whereas the original iPhone was 3.5 inch.
Congratulations Pete on making it to 150k subs :)
Still on my se 1st gen ❤when i have budget im eyeing to finally get a 2nd hand 13 mini 🎉❤
They need to make the pro versions this size, Apple would sell a ton 😎⚡️🤙
Agreed! Also an iPad Mini Pro would be amazing!
Agree, hope they drop another mini for the 16 series.
@@PeteMatheson THIS.. I have the iPad mini and man we definitely need a pro version especially with Logic Pro available now
I too did the same. And I’m so happy I did it! Both my phones are now 13 minis!
I just want my phone to fit in my pocket again 😭
when the 13 line came out i wanted to get the iphone 13 pro or pro max in serria blue. but i wasnt due for an upgrade. then when i upgraded i got a better deal with my iphone 13 which i am still using
Still a great phone! Interested to see what they do with the SE this year
If Apple made the mini the se model they would break the market!!
Do your baked in ads go long enough?
The issue was that Apple didn't give it all the top features. It they bring it back they should give it the Dynamic Island, and refresh it every 2 years.
Also I'm surprise Apple hasn't done a iPhone Classic, silver back, black bar in the bottom, rounded/ curved phone like the original. But have it be the size of the mini. I think that will sell well.
15 mini pro titanium w/ USB 1TB.
Downsizing from the regular 13 and I can’t wait!
What a shame we won’t see a mini again. My 13 mini will just have to last.
Would be nice if you could still buy them. Upgrade to at least 90hz screen, a little better camera, and a little better battery, it would be perfect.
Man, I do hope the SE4 is actually a downsized iPhone 14 and not just the 14 but with a new chip and 1 less camera 😅
It’s looking like the body of a 14 with the design of an XR
Why not just get the regular pro?
Enjoyed your review style a lot!!
Thank you!
120hz iPhone mini my dream iPhone
Where did you get mini from if Apple stopped selling it?
A friend had one
The most compelling thing about this wonderful video is how you close it: saying to keep an eye out for the SE4. This is the dilemma I am facing. I am here because I want to buy a refurbished mini, but am seriously wondering whether the SE4 is going to be close enough but with added amenities of USB C and better battery. Now that the specs on the SE4 have been released since the making of this video, what are your thoughts?
iPhone SE 4 would probably become the smartphone with one of the most sales ever if they settled on using the 13 mini as a base
I DID also downsize, man!!! Awesome experience. Smaller is greater. 👍🏻
Yeah that’s a no go. Cannot go back from 120hz. 15Pro for the win 👌🏼
Fair!
Holy "Which" ad, man! Just when I thought it was over, it kept going. 😂 2 1/2 minutes of a 9 1/2 minute video? BRUTAL!
I traded mine in in 2022 and I’ve regretted it ever since about to buy one refurbed from backmarket to replace my 15 pro max
So guys, I think we can have the answer to why Apple stopped the iPhone mini. It’s not because it did not sell enough phones, it’s because people buying the 13 mini use their phones less, All big companies want one thing, your attention ! No wonder why they also killed the classic iPods…
Apple should sell iphone mini pro with dynamic island or maybe with dynamic dot together with minimum 3000mah on battery capacity 🙏
If they can fit all of that in to a tiny device, that would be epic!
BRING BACK THE IPHONE MINI OR MINI PRO, please.
a little over 2 weeks ago i got the iphone 15 pro max. i got an amazing trade in deal with my carrier on my 13 an instant credit of 999USD so im only leasing the 15 pro max for about 3USD a month for 3 years
APPLE NEEDS THE LINE UP OF iPhone Mini , iPhone, iPhone Pro , iPhone Pro Max .
Im looking for an upgrade. Hopefully the iPhone 16 has a mini
I'd rather go for the 13 rather than the smaller Mini
An iPhone 16 mini would be so fire bro
Loving it!
They really should bring back the iPhone mini!
Saying that most people can’t physically notice promotion is unrealistic
Apple removing the Iphone 13 mini is probably making room for the Iphone SE 2024
They removed it years ago
please dont stop manufacturing small phones
It's almost like there is a comfortable middle ground between the two.
"It is going to be like an iPhone 14 or 15 but small..."
Err... we all know that iPhone 14 and 15 are small so why add the word "But"? I was kinda stuck trying to process what you were trying to deliver.
And how is the iPhone 13 Mini is very similar to the upcoming iPhone SE 4 when, again, we all know that it is going to use the iPhone 14 6.1" shell?
iPhone SE 4 is at 6.1 inch bigger and only has 1 rear camera compare to 13 mini at 5.4 inch smaller and has 2 rear cameras... Where is the similarity...😑
13 is the legend
It’s the most comfortable phone hands down. It’s the only one hander in existence, other phones used with one hand give you cramps.
It’s the most aesthetic phone out there. I carry it in clean new silicone cases and get compliments all the time. People ask to grab it of how cool and toyish it looks and feels.
where did you get that ‘golden circuitry’ style wall art from?
Just bought my wife's old one off her as she upgraded to the 16... I'm moving from a Pixel 8 Pro so be interesting to see how it goes. Using it as a digital detox experiment. Lord knows if it will work. 😅
