Great video! One thing - Never put any heavy stuff like a spare wheel up so high, keep all your heavy stuff like water, spare wheel ect as low as possible...
Great build up. Looks good and opens up the outdoor! You must have the budget, but hey, if you have it, you have it! ENJOY! Thank you for your program!
Thanks Frans! Lots of help from Sponsors to make it all happen, it’s definitely a teamwork! The vehicle has changes so much I’ll need to do a new walk around soon😂
Dude you are living the life. I have a Ford Ranger that I want to kit to almost exactly the point you have done your Hilux. Drooling watching your videos. Well done!
I am convinced / overwhelmed. Your walkaround was excellent. As a future overlanding traveler, this is my vehicle and the way I would like to rig my 2.4 CD6 Hilux. Thank you and hope we meet in the bush somewhere sometime. Good luck and safe overlanding.
Kudos to your camera person, they did an excellent job and really held the camera steady. I really like the build of the Hi-Lux now. Again, I wish we got them in the United States.
Excellent content Adrian. Watched the Jimny and Hilux series. Subscribed after watching the first video. Excellent content and super proud that you are highlighting South Africa. Only problem is that I am now super confused. I was convinced that I was going to buy a Jimny now I want a Hilux.
Am from Kenya i have followed up on this transformation from the first episode. This is good work, am surely purchasing a hilux soon enough and get all this done. Hopefully i get all the accesories here.
@@RoamOverlanding Am an Aussie with a Jimny GLX on order and would love to have your input on the roof-top load you were putting on the Eezi-Awn roof rack when you had the Jimny. In Aus we reportedly have a 30kg limit on roof top loads for the vehicle but it seems to me you must have had much more weight up there than that: a couple of full jerry cans alone would take you over. Did you ever have any trouble? Very much like the look of the Eezi-Awn rack with those four supports each side. Looks much more secure than any of the local products. Would greatly appreciate your input.
You gonna want to upgrade the intercooler on there, you wont regret. Dash is a bit cluttered but thats just my opinion. Love the build looks good and practical.
Great building serie Adrian! Really loved to watch it. Thanks as well for sharing all the products u used, very helpful! Hopefully you will create some footage about your future trips. Good luck, cheers!

@@RoamOverlanding Can imagine you mist stuff. I learned a lot watching your video's and get inspired to improve my hilux as well. The first thing I am going to improve are my supspensions :-)

Yea cool build and great vid bro, I’m purchasing a 2021 SR5 in early October and I have a set of those Pro Comp 5035 Predator rims sitting at my local Tyrepower waiting to be fitted when I pick up my new 4x4.
Thanks for the video. These are some interesting thoughts and upgrades you showcased. Also, it's quite epic to be able to buy insurance which is off-road "rated". Never heard of a similar option here in the EU. Best of luck from followers here in Lithuania!
Well done Adrian. So whats next for Roam Overland? What trips can we look forward to? You have tough luxxie now, so maybe its time to tackle an equally tough trail? Perhaps Baboons pass? 😈😁
The Jackery charges at 10A max vs 25A max for the NL Greenbox; The NL is a more reliable power delivery for say a camping fridge. You can also scale up the battery on a NL to a high capacity if you wanted too. The down side though then is that you will need to add an inverter for clean AC power and that can get quite expensive to get good quality inverters; but you can then scale it up to more output than the jackery, so again the Jackery is an off the shelf option that requires little hard installation into the vehicle. The NL needs cables run from the battery directly to the charger etc. So if you have to balance the price, the jackery is good value, but less versatile in some ways!
Still want a Jimny. Can you please let me know the approx pricing of a kitted out one. Can be a previous model as well. Just a ball park figure. Great channel. Thanks a ton.
Hi Adrian . Its a well built Hilux fill it with diesel and go explore . If I could make one recommendation , Speak to Kallie at EFS Africa they are importing Browndavis 150 LT replacement tank for the N80 Hilux , This would get your spare wheel back in its original position and remove the weight from the roof .
Hey Richard; if I had the bucks for that it would be amazing 👌🏻 unfortunately it’s travel time; and I need every cent I can get to keep making content. That’s why I rely on sponsors so much; we all know travel ain’t cheap! But maybe something for the future; who knows!
That is so awesome Stefan! This snorkel is from Toyota but I regret getting it, I should have gotten the one from Safari (I believe terrain tamer SA stock them, I can give you contact details if you need) enjoy your canopy boet! You’re going to love it!
Please don't take this the wrong way, I am not criticizing your decision to get a bigger, more versatile vehicle, as it makes perfect sense in every measurable metric. However, I really wish you could've kept the Jimny, or replaced it with a vehicle with equal charm and soul. As capable as the Hilux is, it leaves one feeling cold and not emotionally invested in the films like the Jimny did. There is a trio of South African overlanders who regularly do trips in their 3 Toyota's, and they do amazing trips, yet I never go back to re-watch their trips...but with the Jimny I go back to watch episodes I'd already seen over and again (eg. S1E33). The Jimny is flawed, we all know that (and i'm sure you know this better than most), but it is exactly that fact that makes us fall in love with it. The 'Lux is a great all-rounder, but that unfortunately does not equate to a character that we as the audience feel strongly about, or find loveable. As Jeremy Clarkson famously said when comparing the technically superior McLaren MP4-12C to the 458, "Germany is clean and run efficiently...but nobody wants to go on holiday in Germany" I do appreciate your work though and think your storytelling skills are on point. You've done a great job and I congratulate you for all the success you have had thus far.
Howsit brother, I just wanted to ask you how long it takes for your phone to connect to the dastek module after you start the car. Cause obviously you don't want the immobilizer to become an inconvenience
You have to manually connect to the Unichip and then select it in the app; its not ideal but its better than an oke being able to flip a switch to turn off the immobiliser.
Nothing on the backseats in this case; the extra fuel tank is where the spare wheel goes underneath the tub and the water tank is right at the back and bottom of the drawersystem
The suspension has changes since then; it used to be Fox 2.0 shocks and EFS +300kg constant load leafsprings. It is now the Terrain Tamer HD shocks with 500-700kg Parabolic leafsprings
