Tunnel Vision Design… Not Just for Landscapes!

The featured composition this week is full of visual drama and strong contrast: Tunnel Vision Design… and it’s not just for landscapes!
I use three ingredients before beginning a painting:
•Concept
•Composition
•Color Combination
There are at least sixteen composition designs that are universally recognized as the standard for aesthetically pleasing designs in a painting. Plenty to choose from!
This BobBlast features the Tunnel Vision Composition and it’s exactly what its name implies… looking through the painting to a focal point, or looking through a tunnel. Everything leads your eye to one lighted focal point. It’s a simple design concept and is very effective in getting attention.
Typically, I favor this composition for my landscape paintings. However, choosing this design does not have to be just for landscapes.
Try it for abstracts, urban scapes and even figures!
Using this composition, the end result is a simple, yet powerful graphic design with a memorable impact. This week's Tunnel Vision painting demo shows my preference for dark shapes on both sides, leading to one bright focal point.
