You totally killed it with this video bud! I’m super happy you guys gotta good compilation together of this unique little company. I know the carted recycle and GreenWaste is new for the truckee area. This was rolled out not too long ago since truckee is actually in Nevada county, not placer where all mixed waste goes to a meg, but I think it all goes to the TTSD mrf no matter what county it’s collected from. Either way, this fleet and this company are very unique to California, let alone really anywhere that I know of. Thanks for the great video and I’m really looking forward to the ones this summer!
Amazing video Eli! They really got some awesome trucks out, can't believe how many are manual transmission! The STS's definitely are my favorite trucks from the video, I remember seeing one about 4-5 years ago from TTSD. That ACX curotto was also very entertaining! Super quick-moving through the snow. Surprised to see they had a CCC Amrep FL definitely adds to the variety of trucks they got up there. Super excited to see your experience up there over the summer, and I cant wait to see more videos of the rest of their awesome fleet! Really did a great job on this one, mad props for going up there with all the snow and managing to get as much video as you did. Awesome stuff!
Thanks Marcus! They have a lot of stick shifts left in their fleet actually, these were just a few I believe. It is pretty neat they have a CCC amidst a fleet of primarily Peterbilt. I am so stoked for the summer and hopefully I can snag a few clips of their trucks here and there while I'm working. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for the comment!
Whoa this is amazing Eli! A garbage truck with a manual transmission is quite rare, most of them have Allisons in them! That 1999 Pete Leach was definitely my favorite because of that amazing Cummins M11/ISM sound! Next time you go up there definitely film that one again and make sure to get a long takeoff with plenty of upshifts! I can't wait to see what else you find up there when you go back!
That Leach Millennium on a 320 looks so good and so do the K7000's. This was my first time seeing a stick shift garbage truck and I have to say that I actually dig it. First time I ever heard of the sounds produced by snow chains, and I like it especially during takeoffs. Snow also adds another level of beauty to the scenery. This is basically an old school refuse fan's dream fleet right here. I know I would go for those STS and that Leach for sure. Awesome video.
They sure do! Not every day you see those late 90s 320s either. It was pretty cool seeing this operation take place in the snow, and glad you liked the trucks!
I run between Sac and Reno every day for work and see these trucks all the time but never knew those old 320s were manuals! That’s so awesome! Any chance you know how many gears they got in them?
Thanks for the comment! They are probably some of the last stick shift garbage trucks in existence as well. I remember one of the drivers telling me but I can't remember of the top of my head... I want to say 8 or 12 speed but I'm not certain.
Awesome video Eli! Wish I knew you guys were up here, oh well maybe next time. Love their fleet! Almost filmed them back in December on my way to Reno but quickly realized we needed chains lol. Have to say the CCC Curotto and the 320 Millennium were my favorites. But those STSs definitely ups to cool factor for their fleet. Despite an ACX Half/Pack being a common combo, the speed Curotto made it entertaining! Excellent work on this one!
All of their trash/recyclables go to the dirty MRF at the yard, so they’ll probably install some sort of device that sorts out organic material and foodwaste to comply. There will be way more diversion that way
Another solid upload from you dude! Big props to you and Isaac for making it out there. That leach was awesome, glad you were able to film that one while all the other trucks were together, especially with it being the first in line. The packing shots/cycles were pretty sick too, never really took the time to study a Millennium packer so when it retracted back I was kind of surprised with the blade coming out. That first STS was obviously a beast, had to replay that takeoff a couple times. Although it’s cool they’re running a curotto on resi, I wonder why send a front loader on such a route. My main concern would be the weight, the snow, and the hills if the truck was loaded. That Crane Carrier was pretty bitchin too, haven’t seen a good video of that combo in a while so seeing one with a curotto was amazing. Overall this was a pretty sick operation, and if their fleet has more than this on residential and commercial, I would love for you to come back! Great video man.
Thanks Kanyisa! The Leach was definitely my favorite truck as well. That was the first time I had ever seen a Millenium up close and in person, so it was pretty sick seeing its unique packer blade operation. If you think that STS sounded good, we heard from one of the drivers that there was an even better sounding Peterbilt that we weren't able to find that day. In terms of sending the curottos on resi, you'll notice in one of the clips of the CCC that he spins out a little bit on the hill after he dumps. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the comment!
Absolute banger of a video. You would think a company with a fleet as good as this would have gotten the spotlight earlier, but apparently not, but I am glad it finally happened. The Leach Millenium and STS FELs are becoming rarer and rarer every passing year, so it's great to see them under a single owner that will treat them well. the LET2/HX450FELs are really cool, as not only is this combination unheard of, but this is the first time I've seen one on curotto (Yes, I know about the Rainbow/Ecoterra trucks, but please shut up). Their methods of collection may be strange, but it suits them well, and it makes for a good video. I do find it strange that the recycle trucks do not collect the blue bags or the loose cardboard. I hope they got a good explanation for this. And I wonder how contaminated these bags are as opposed to recycling in the blue carts. As stated earlier, good video of a good company with some great trucks! I definitely like to videos of their trucks in the future, and I hope they keep those older trucks for as long as they can!
You're right, there are some miscellaneous short videos of their trucks here and there but not really anything to note. I was kind of puzzled too why the recycling drivers didn't just get out and toss the loose recyclables into the curotto can but I guess they want to minimize the times the drivers exit the truck as much as possible and keep those routes entirely automated. The blue bags seemed pretty clean to me and I'd imagine they get a pretty high recovery rate of the contents as long as they are tied shut. Thanks for the comment!
Nice video man 👨
Thanks 🙏🏼 dt

cool video :)
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed :)
Bunch of cool trucks here, I was super excited to see that CCC Amrep Curotto though
Great video! I’m glad someone has finally gone out and got a solid compilation of TTSD! I imagine it was a bit chilly but a very beautiful adventure!
Thanks man! It was pretty cold which is why it is shakier than some of my other videos, but nonetheless an awesome filming experience.
@@socalgarbagetrucks oh yeah I get it! The truck better be damn good for me to get out in the cold and film.

Awesome video! Those K7000's sure were truck in for their age! Pretty cool operation there, especially in the snow!
Thank you! They are definitely some old yet very reliable trucks. Glad you liked it

Nice video I just filmed them. They have a awesome fleet
They sure do! Thanks for the comment
still wondering what they will do in accordance to SB1383

All those trucks. My little bro is a huge fan of trash trucks and he chases the one that comes to my apartment complex, its wm
Cool 😎 video man 👨🏽 I liked 👍🏽 all the trucks 🛻
