Big shout-out to my lovely wife Anni for taking part on this madness and operating that gas torch stick like absolute boss with that crazy look on her face :D :D
Are you gonna blow up the biggest baloon?
Probably those smaller weather balloons I think you would need many bottles to even fill up the big thing :D
How expensive is a this sized bottle?
I think fill is probably around 80€ for acetylene and less for oxygen but I might get them for free now since we do quite lot of projects with air liquide
Well where i'm at you can ether buy them or rent them.
They NEVER clickbait. SERIOUSLY. When they say something they mean it.
Clickbait does not always mean "fake" or "trolling" content. You can create legit clickbaits. They usually involve many UPPERCASE LETTERS and many exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!! Also overexaggerated words. Just like in this video the phrase "most dangerous." Not to mention that it uses uppercase letters and has exclamation marks. So It's just overexaggerated enough to get your interest and click the video. That is the definition of a clickbait.
Anni's laugh after the house blew up is the best thing ever.
acidhelm lmao I was like "wtf she sounds like Harley Quinn!" lol!
IKR?!
Holy shit on a spork!
AWESOME =)
The screams of both made my day!
Excellent job explaining that Acetylene tanks must rest after being moved. I don't think it's very commonly known.
At least you do not have to worry about shrapnel
I sure didn’t know
"Oxy-acetylene weather balloon" is one of the best worst ideas I've ever heard
aren't you that computerphile guy
Yip, looks like it to me.
Weather balloon was the first thing I thought of too. Not sure if they have enough ear plugs and defenders for that though.
Robert Miles Anything beyond medium sized trashbag can easily be lethal in close proximity. The blastwave will rupture lungs and cause classic overpressure trauma in the abdominal cavity just like any explosion.
This would blow up you to the moon
stand away about 5999 km
I was on a walk near your house when you tested this! Scared the shit out of me, but i instantly knew it was you guys. Still didnt see anyone at the yard when i passed it but this confirms it!
I was wondering the entire time, "what does the neighbours think?", I was sure the police would come since people could mistake it for gunfire..:P
@@OriginalPuro They're probably thinking, "Oh, the crazy Vuohensiltas are at it again!"
These two were made for each other.
acetylene and oxygen?
lilili lululu yup the 2 gases are great
lol This channel became better than Hydraulic Press Channel.
Sure about that!I am looking forward to the upcoming winter-season... a lotta shit blowing up on ice this year :)
And the ice caroucel!
For REAL
7:33 Best laugh ever! XD
TheBioWanderer151 o
That's some mad scientist level laughter right there.
7:30 When you blow up a house and your lady laughs like that.... She's a keeper 😎
I used to do exactly this 50 years ago but with a slight difference. We used 2x1metre balloons, one with the oxy/acetalene mixture, and the second with hydrogen, both tied together, and with a time fuse made from an incense stick (burns about an inch/25mm per minute) with a bunch of matches tied to it. The whole thing was lighter than air so we'd light the time fuse and let it go...
5 minutes or so later there was a large explosion way up in the air miles away from where we were, the sound echoing around the local hills. (we don't know anything about that officer he he)
Note: this looks great at night time :)
Love how you guys always come out with these crazy original videos that aren't just jumping on the current trend. Really cool, thanks!
Hello. Well that was dangerous madness for sure. Those lambs were liking them bubbles too lol :)
5:54 music edited on point 👌🏻 chapeau!
Oh my god look how happy Anni is playing bubbles with those sheep! I love you, Anni!
My friend filled a one gallon milk jug with oxyacetylene, set it on the roof of his car, and lit it off from inside the car using a model rocket igniter. This was the first time I witnessed a shock wave, and a perfect mirror image - including text - was imprinted in the roof. My high school physics teacher also passed along his story, in which he and his high school friends filled balloons with this mixture. They then tied the balloons one at a time to the car antenna, and drove through town lighting them off with a cigarette on a stick. 'Twas all fun and games until the windshield shattered.
Noel Barlau a fuse 5amp and a wire and battery is the cheapest way to ignite.
My high school shop teacher welded a pipe to a plate. The pipe was just big enough for a tennis ball to fit snug. And he drilled and tapped a hole for a spark plug then filled it with oxy/acet. We took it out to where PE classes meet and cranked the magneto. The ball disappeared.
We had the coolest shop teacher ever. David Vaughn (RIP..we love you)
He even had a pulse jet that he fired up. It was so loud, but he didnt care.
Now, California is a liberal state. I dont think they even teach industrial arts anymore. Not at Newport Harbor. If they do, its probably knitting or face painting or some kind of non-hetero shit like that.
I think my favorite thing about this channel is how they look up what other people have done on youtube and make it significantly more badass.
Anni Deserves a reward for being brave enough to participate in this.
I could watch Anni blow bubbles all day. She looks so serene and childlike. Very calming experience.
The most evil laugh i've ever heard :D 7:34
that laugh made the video
Finnish power of laugh
This is an unbelievably stupid stupid thing to do...I love it :-)
Anni killed it! Her evil scientist laugh was epic!
It's nice to see a couple having fun together like that.
You guys sound like you're having so much fun, I love it!
Amazing! Hey guys, yours english pronunciation is awesome!
7:34 what an evil laugh! :D
6:43 "...And two giant people slav-squatting."
lmao xD
I remember the old days when Anni used to hide behind the van when things exploded...
Those slo-mo explosions are one of the coolest things i've ever seen on RUclips :O
0:57 Anni sternly distributing bubbles in front of Lauri while he is trying to explain the setup still cracks me up. :D
Amazing sound editing, I predict the slow motion boom with the perfectly timed music will start to appear all over the internet soon. Great video!!
I absolutely love this channel!
You two are the best!
Anni's cackling as she blows shit up is adorable.
Of course now I'm imagining what would happen if you made dish soap balloons that are 3-4 times the size of the ones you got here.
You two absolutely crack me up together. 110% perfect for each other. I love watching your channel. Both of them
Very entertaining. Thank you
Now fill one of those big balloons, and try putting it underwater, then ignite it.
well thats an idea and a half!
Hard to keep a balloon under water.
Yeah, its like keeping a good man down.
the shockwave would kill a lot of marine life. sound underwater travels much further and louder then it does in air, same goes for a shockwave like this.
They used a lake before with no fishies for other vids
When I was 10 my father got 40 helium balloons for his birthday. He emptied 10 of them and filled them with that same gas. Attached to the other 30 helium balloons to lift them (acetylene gas is very heavy). Tied a 7 foot fuse on the bottom, lit it and let it go free. It was about 400 feet up when it exploded over the city, and car alarms were going off for many blocks. :-)
This was AWESOME! Thanks for the excitement, that was enough for the week!
You guys are great !! I love this channel ! Greetings from America !
Acetylene inside a fridge or a microwave ? :D
Nébulien oh shit!
This comment needs to be at the top
Arno....not with a fuse or remote detonation....
And a glass shield
In a vacuum chamber
Brilliant viewing,thanks.
Incredible work you two. That is unreal.
Weather balloon, weather balloon, weather balloon!
Ian Darley big big boom
2:06 "Jumalauta... voi vittu..." :'D
I really appreciated the editing of the music for the bubble in the red pan. Music was perfectly synced to when the bubble shrank, very satisfying for me.
Garbage bag explosion filled with this gas, is classic. Very very powerful. DO IT!
Anni sounds mad. Haha. Great video!
VividEradicator I am mad! 😝
2:05
*BOOOOM*
"Jumalauta. Voi vit-"
:DDDD
That one sheep staring at the bubbles, the rest of them following Anni. He's the dreamer of the flock.
I was very, VERY surprised how loud one single bubble could make! You guys are genius and hilarious at the same time.
I just purchased a decibel meter for about $15 U.S. I'm sure you can buy an inexpensive one on Amazon. Would be interesting to see how the explosions measure in decibels.
she loved that way too much :D
Saw the same thing at a science lecture during a school trip to a university many years ago, the bangs were so loud my ears were ringing all day and all of the cover caps on the smoke alarms fell off the ceiling. The demonstrator used a bowl of water and washing up liquid to create the bubbles.
WOW!!! I LOVE THE HIGH SPEED CAMERA SHOTS!!!
please try opening a safe using the foam used in the cardboard house
Considering the ending, this must have been edited by Anni.
Art, is an EXPLOSION!
Best video ever! The 4500 FPS was amazing!
I was first, but started counting the sheep at the end and fell asleep. :)
Mark G 😂
Try a coconut filled with the gas. Probably be very far away. Drill a smallish hole, empty the liquid out and slowly fill the coconut up with the gas which is heavier so if you leave the opening upwards, then the gas should stay inside. Another thing if it will get a good air fuel mixture for explosion though.
This one of the best videos you ever made, Great job Lauri and Anni !
This is way more badass than I ever would have thought. Thanks!
I wonder if you really got the mixture right there, notice the difference in the flame colour during the explosion, maybe more powerful boom if you nail the mixture
Gorbaz The Dragon
You can get the mixture just right by lighting the torch and adjusting the flame, put the flame out and leave the gas on. Put a solo cup upside down on a table put a small hole in the bottom and fill with gas, then light. If you get it just right it's unbelievable. I'll never do it again.
Might end up not able to...
I've been blowing up Acet/Oxy since the mid-60's. The best mix for a huge flaming explosion is to go a bit rich on the fuel, (acet). If you want a very serious concussion, and very loud, go rich on the oxy.
6:00 It looks like the flame always starts in the middle of the bubble. I'd think it would start the closest to the flame and go, in this example, from about 1 o'clock down to 7 o'clock. But no, middle out. Not intuitive to me.
Maybe it's because one gas is denser then another one so the gas staying in the middle ignites faster? The middle has the biggest pressure, so one gas could replace the other one.
the gas at the middle will have approximately the same density as the gas near the edge. The gasses are well mixed and gasses fill spaces efficiently.
Its the edge but because the bubble burst there is gas mixture around initinal point of ignition and so can burn in all directions
Also the torch is pushing into the bubble creating like a doughnut effect before the skin breaks and so first point if ignition is closer to centre of bubble
This is just nuts! Rock on, guys!!!!
The reverse gets me every time...incredible!
Very cool video! I want to try it myself but I'm affraid that my wife wont let me do it in our backyard :D
I think backyard isn't the right place for this :D
Do it like DemolitionRanch with his guns! Do it in the living room!
Well Hell Man, just head on over to the Wal-Mart.
Let's be autiful, she can shop you can blow shit up in the parking lot LOL
200L BARREL !! plastic and steel
Glad to see no black holes were created in the making of this video.
Omg Anni's laugh when u blew up the house was the best thing I've heard all day! Xoxox much love
7:33 Epic laugh ^^
Keep doing this videos! Fucking around with chemistry and physics!! Just don't get yourselves killed!!
Anni surely had the time of her life in this video! hahahah
Love this video and this channel and the people behind it.
This one needs to go viral!
Do it with balloons :)
We are going to do this with weather balloon :D it's going to be huge and very dangerous :D
Omg you are insane :D
be safe 0.0
So funny when he say " holy sh*t "
My brother blew up our garage with acetylene and oxygen. He and his friend almost died. They had been playing with balloons and then moved to something larger and it ignited in their hands. The pressure explosion was equivalent to three sticks of dynamite. Anyone out there reading this, please don't mess with this stuff.
This is my favorite video so far. Anni's laugh was hilarious!!!!!
Can you make video, what you can crush or split with firewood/log splitting machine.
Good idea! I could start with splitting machine and then make splitting tool for the press to super size it :D
Thanks that could be super cool
Beyond the press Oxy-acetylene powered log splitter? 👍🏻
Log splitting machine in the press!
6:00 EPIC A. F.
Holy shit that music was perfect
What is the song called
AWESOME, just down right AWESOMENESS!! More please!
6:45 “two giant people Slav squatting”.... best quote of the whole video
Hankkikaa sellainen kuplakone, josta tulee paljon pieniä kuplia. Saataisiin sarjatulta!
Tämä ^
That pink shade tho!!
KTM Trooper ii
Great video. Incredible power in oxy-acetylene. Keep filming!
Your guys are great. Thank you for all that you do. Great to see the enjoyment that you get from it.
Deflagration? Or detonation?
Detonation in this case. It's supersonic and that's why it's so loud.
gogo311: I was thinking the same. Some of the biggest conventional military bombs use the same method--except for the soap-bubble part.
gogo311 - You really can't say it was detonation based on the sound. Example, gunpowder (smokeless powder) in a firearm cartridge deflagrates - a nice slow burn to push the bullet down the barrel; they're pretty damn loud too. As for the oxy/acetylene popping; I'd like to ask somebody who has a good knowledge in energetic materials if it was deflagration or transitioned to detonation.
I'm no expert but to me it's a detonation when your ears ring. If you put blackpowder into a CO2 or N2O charger, it can detonate.
Deflagration is subsonic. detonation is super sonic.
A deflagration, in the case if gun powder for example, becomes a detonation due to overpressure. ie. It's confined when ignited. For definition, it doesn't matter how a substance behaves outside of this confined space. All that matters is what happens when it's ignited.
I will also note, before anyone mentions.... A subsonic projectile from a firearm can also sound pretty loud, but it's the gas that's breaking the sound barrier (going super sonic), not the projectile.
Thanks for the video.
Anni is awesome. She needs her own channel.
ElGatoLoco698 I have. :)
This is one of the coolest BTP videos I've seen yet!
Blow up Annie's clay figures
I love you guys. You are like Mythbusters of RUclips.
Best extra content footage!
Run engine from oxy/fuel!
I have planned to do this. there is some safety hazards but I think I have solved them
Matthew Erwin . That would be interesting to see. I wonder how violent that would be once compressed in a chamber.
it's going to explode, it will be cool to watch, but no other outcome is really possible. Aside from the enormous power boost you'd get (which would likely explode the engine by itself) you would be removing massive amounts of cooling from the engine (the nitrogen in air moving through the engine provides quite a bit of a engines cooling ability)
animefreak5757 . You're darn right it would be cool to see. Now I can hardly wait. He better do it. If he injects the mixture into the intake, it could likely backfire. Actually, I think I'd like to see him inject it into an already running engine. Sorta like NOS. ...So...everyone stand back. This is gonna get crazy.
Matthew Erwin Engine would self-destruct during the compression stroke. Free acetylene is extremely unstable above 1 PSI/ 1 bar. It would explode from the pressure before the piston made it even 1/4 of the way up the cylinder.
Slaavi kyykky :)
Slaavikyykky*
Can't help but smile when anni laughs 👍
_"I see a weatherballon video comming"_
...I knew Lauri was going to say that and put a big smile on his face! :D
I'm so looking forward to this.^^
