You should use a front loading washing machine. Jam the door sensor so it thinks the door is always closed, put it on a spin cycle, once up to speed, throw in the steel.
chickenpopper! That's the proper way of doing it. If you start slow like in this video, it dents itself too much and jams. If you do it on a fast spin, it will destroy itself spectacularly!... Not that I've done this before or anything...

It is a low water usage machine, like a front loader, but with the convenience of a top loader. I believe Staber is the name of one manufacturer.

I have a washer dryer combo, takes 4-6 hours to get clean dry clothes out of it.
Combo washer dryers are pretty common in the UK since it means you only need 1 device instead of 2, but here they're normally front loaders.
