The ground was so hot after the propane explosion, there was steam coming off the soil. Also the propane expanded so fast it became solid and that is what was still burning in the tank

Imagine the windows of a car blowing out because of the propane explosion inside. That would have been magnificent!
@@A_Bit_of_Thought There probably wouldn't be enough air in the car after the tank blew out. Definitely want some fire somewhere near it though.
Putting the car into a (large) propane tank would be much more interesting...
@@Bob5mith I think you're right. The pilot flames would eat up most of the oxygen and the propane would displace the rest.

We are going to do car explosion as an new years special. We are going to but some professional grade fireworks there, ones that have 100-400 grams of black powder in each shell :D Then some dynamite and gasoline for grandfinale!

Poor Lauri spent 70 euros on that propane tank and I don't think he will be able to get it refilled after this. :P
I didnt think it was filled, so I just thought he must have said 7 or 17 euros. Then BOOOM.. Oh I guess it was 70 Euros.
Considering he spent 1000€ on a load cell recently I don't think 70€ is that big of a deal.

@@Gookrak And where did all the snow come from? I would suggest from moisture in the air, but then the question becomes: how does moisture get into the air? By evaporating water. How do you evaporate water into the air? By warming it. So one of the hottest summers in history was not able to melt all the snow that was put into the atmosphere by a record warm water body.

@Riku Penttila I think they found in previous videos that thermite actually doesn't do well with melting ice. Ice takes a ton of energy to melt, enough that even thermite has a tough time with it.

You can put the cannon closer. And you're allowed to move the TV, fridge and computer, sofa and cupboard etc. outside the room while shooting.

02:00 if the plate had been solidly mounted to something it would have penetrated. The movement of the plate absorbed a lot of the kinetic energy.
You can also compensate by adding more kinetic energy :)

That was awesome how the smoke rushed in after the explosion. I wonder if it was because of air being sucked in by the heat of the flames? Or did it create a partial vacuum and it was created by the lack of atmosphere behind the explosion?
Yes on both counts. Fire sucks in oxygen. but any large explosion that creates a shockwave will also have low--pressure front behind it that sucks air in.
Finland seems like a pretty great place to have fun :D
Discovery Channel needs to give these guys a show. Way better than what they offer now.
Once again, you guys deserve some sort of cinematography award. Discovery Channel couldn't do better with a million dollar budget. Today's tech is amazing, and your use of it to capture these shots is double amazing.
discovery invested heavily years ago in tech and since most tech has advanced so much so quickly they've been left behind , cheaper and sometimes better equipment is available to everyone, now discovery is stuck making 720-1440p videos with alot of fake shows etc

@@buddyclem7328 they were dumb the way they did it. You need wide open space with nothing around but trees and the correct elevation on the barrel to be a success. Corn fields work best. I've sent a bowling ball just over one mile with my bowling ball cannon and was buried 15 feet deep in the ground. My cannon has a 15ft barrel with a muzzle brake and a 3" thick breach to prevent catastrophic failure when firing.

I like the propane explosion. You can really see that it expands at first because the gas was under pressure, then it expands more because of the burning, and then it contracts because it cools down. It goes from 800 Celsius to 0 in a few seconds.
