  • Josh Allen of Fairview nursery in Vista California (@fairviewplants on instagram) is someone I met at one of our recent pop up event and he had then invited me to come down and visit him - today was finally the day and I must say I was completely delighted by the incredible array of aloes, cycads, agaves, dudleyas and cactus that josh has planted into the ground in a truly breathtaking backyard habitat that makes the primate in me calm if only for a few fleeting moments.
    I hope you enjoy, and please subscribe to the channel as I helps me out a ton and buy a shirt from the online store to help fund my next adventure and rock some dope shit in the process.
    Thank you.

    It looks pretty much like a landscape taken out of South-Africa and placed in California: The Aloes, the Cycads and the rocks are just right. Also put in some Crassulas in sunny locations and then place some Haworthias and Gasterias in the shaded locations.

    Curious that a property like that exists in Vista California and how the geology came to be, he mentioned it was an as is purchase, would anyone care to speculate what that would cost? California politics irritate me but Vista is gorgeous. Typical hazy day there in that you can't tell the direction of the Sun. What makes aloe b a i n s i i fussy in the summer? What a phenomenal space and video, thank you

Something that I would love to see is a video of the cacti of Los Angeles County, maybe in the Santa Monica Mountains, and also, if you're ever out there, a video on wild saguaros growing in California, there are only an estimated 100 or fewer specimens, there is one area by Parker Dam where they grow in a big stand. Thanks and keep up the great work!

    Wow! Each collection you feature is better than the next. I love your awesome video’s and I’m jealous you guys are in California, the Mecca for a wide range of cactus. I just started a tiny collection,but unfortunately I’m in Florida,where heavy rains have nearly destroyed mostly everything,but my pencil cactus,Gumby and my blue torch, everything else perished. Would you have any suggestions for a rainy type cactus,lol? I do have a few rare 2 in cactus in the house,but these would look so much better in ground outdoors. I don’t want to lose any more. Thank you, for your awesome videos.

      Styrofoam peanuts around the base help a ton, I use a baseball field top dressing called turface as a potting medium, some of my succulent pots contain 80% Styrofoam peanuts and when I go to unpot the Roots have penetrated into the Styrofoam in search of air, I'm in Minnesota and actually use a wick watering system in addition to the peanuts but if you've got rain and it's drowning your succulents and cactus the peanuts can save them

    • @GreenCanvasInteriorscape
      @GreenCanvasInteriorscape 3 месяца назад

      Not around the base, sorry for the lack of clarity and I can't edit as I'm not on the app come up fill the bottom half of the pot with Styrofoam peanuts make sure the plant is stable add more peanuts and then add turface, strategic rocks help also

I follow and buy from a wonderful nursery and botanic garden business from North Carolina. Plant Delights Nursery. Juniper Level Botanic Gardens. And many more. I learn from everyone and share my knowledge also. The theory of conservation of a species is not going to work with dysfunctional governments and land destruction. We need to propagate not expect someone else to do the work. That's hands-on. 😘💋🍀

    Why did you begin your title with "Palm Grower"? When I think of palm growers I'm thinking of the palm growers that grow for palm oil. Very bad and controversial
