Our situations are very similar! My MacBook was financed through Best Buy using the same deal and it remains a vital tool in my everyday life. Solo travel has also been one of my BEST investments. Your videos, among those of others, inspired me to solo travel to Japan in 2018. I fell in love with the country and made another solo visit in September of this year! I traveled around the country for nearly three weeks and it was amazing.

Your solo travel stories was one of the many reasons I ended my relationship of 13 years just a few weeks ago. My boyfriend would never allow me to solo travel. In fact there were many things he did not want me to do. I realized that it wasn’t necessarily solo traveling that I wanted it was traveling in general. I wanted more of it instead just once a year to the same place. And I did get to go to some places with my best friend but he never wanted me to go. Like I said. Many other reasons I needed to change my life and let him go.

jessicaaaturbox3 awww thank you. It was hard but in the end I need to be happy. Not try to make people happy or please them. I need to start with myself and if I meet someone else in the future it will be a great person not trying to hold me back. He’ll be an asset and support me in every way. As I will him. I turned 40 this month and it really was time to change and start living. I know I should have ended it sooner but it took me a quite long to realize this was going to make me miserable.

I did! I saved for the initial expenses and always make sure I have some rainy day money in case of unexpected vets bills which (he’s almost two) there have been a couple, but in terms of feeding him, I give him what my vet recommends, he’s a small dog so doesn’t eat much, being a poodle grooming is expensive so I would say overall it probably costs me less than £50 a month on average to keep him including fleaing, worming, food, treats , grooming, etc and most expenses and that’s just so worth it to me. I would rather go without a new lipstick or a few extra drinks out one evening and have him because he brings so much joy to my life :)

Since then things have changed (of course) and i seldom pull RUclips but...quarantine baby haha. I just watched 10 of your videos in a row and it was like having a visit with an old friend. I genuinely forgot how much i enjoyed your videos (and a few other OGs). I'm so happy to see you doing so well and find it very funny that without knowing each other, without me continuing to watch regularly, we've grown and changed in some very similar ways.

My trip to London last month! I come from a large family that rarely travels and have always wanted to go to Europe (expensive country). Me and my sister are constantly browsing the internet, looking at tickets and Airbnb prices, trying to convince our family to come along as they’d never let us go alone. Then one day in September my sister was online and found cheap tickets to London ($400 round trip). After researching more about London (the hotels, weather, who’d come with us) our trip was booked! Since money was a bit tight, I paid for the entire trip knowing that my mom and sister would eventually pay me back. It was a great investment because the experience I had was priceless! I’ve never had so much fun and seen so much beautiful and historical landmarks. This inspired me to just go and travel; stop thinking of excuses and book that trip!

Love this and the haircut. I’m 37 and have been growing my hair to my waist as one last hurrah before I’m old (lol). I achieved the length earlier this year and now I have the itch to cut it but it took years (I started at shoulder length). I’m thinking a new cut for the new year. In my 20’s my best purchases were my first dslr camera (I’m now a pro photog) and probably my first child as her birth cost $$$. Lol. I honestly wish I could’ve saved more. My worst purchases would be pages long. Live and learn. 💕

Especially in the last few months, I feel like your videos have really helped me think about what's significant to me and what I want to focus on as I get closer to 30. My best purchase was a rebuilt Nissan Altima. I got it for super cheap, barely any miles, and it’s brand new in perfect condition. I bought it from a guy who gets cars off of auctions and fixes them, he’s super picky, trustworthy, and does an amazing job. So basically I got an extremely good deal out of it and will have this car for years. It’s been a year since I bought it, no problems whatsoever. A lot people stay away from rebuilt titles because it’s risky, but I think it was way worth it.

On the horizon, I am hoping to purchase a home with my partner and go on more trips (I haven’t been out of the country or on a really vacation since the trip during my last year of college), especially ones out of the country, before my 20s are over. Love that you are solo traveling, that’s so inspirational for me!
    EDIT:
I would also say that purchasing concert tickets, especially going to a concert by myself for the first time, have been among some of my greatest purchases. :) and tattoos that I have purchased for myself because they have made me feel more comfortable and beautiful in my body.

Just Bobbi i feel that time away from a SO can be really good for your relationship, that feeling of missing them can remind you why you love them so much. travelling solo is also a really good way to find out what YOU enjoy while travelling and pushes you to speak to strangers (in other languages and to make friends)
maybe suggest one solo trip and one couples trip? that way there’s a balance

I have not solo traveled yet but my spouse knows that it’s something I want to do and we support each other in everything. I have more vacation time than him and I can’t always find someone to go with. Most of our family doesn’t understand but he knows that if we don’t support each other than we will begin to resent each other.

I did my first solo trip last November (2018) to Berlin. My boyfriend of four years really didn’t want me to go. I’m quite a small woman, and I look very young, so he’s always stressed about my wellbeing. Although I understood his concerns, I ended up buying the tickets anyway. I made sure to include him in the planning process so he could see I was doing everything I could to stay safe. It ended up being a wonderful experience for me, and now he’s happy to let me travel solo. Obviously it’s different for every couple, but do your best to get to the root of why he’s concerned, and address it. Solo travel doesn’t mean you never want to travel with him ever! And if you really really want to do it, just go.

I wouldn’t do international travel without my husband. I do smaller state-side trips, but my husband loves to travel just as much as I do! He just doesn’t get as much vacation time as I do. As for the larger trips, I would want to share those experiences with him! Some of our best memories have been made traveling together!

I really love that you mentioned your hair cut as being one of your best purchases. I used to be obsessed with the idea of long hair and I thought it would make me so much prettier and long hair is sexier than short hair. and now that i'm 24 I cut 5 inches off and I LOVE my hair so much more with a healthy cut. A good cut can really bring so much confidence!

Mine would be the plane ticket to China to study abroad in Shanghai (which after financial aid was the only thing I had to pay out of pocket for that trip). I studied there from August to January 2020. The coronavirus hit the minute I got home, so I’m unbelievably lucky to have spent the months before quarantine seeing so much of the world (And no, I didn’t catch it and bring it back here, I had multiple checkups since getting back).

my kitchen aid mixer. sounds wierd, but I really bake so much and I was always kinda thinking I had to wait till i was making a steady income or had my own house, but then I thought "but wait, I bake now and I am going through all those crappy cheap mixers and what if I wont bake anymore in a few years because life changes? I dont want to which I had this thing everytime I am baking". my mom is using it too and we both love it and it made my baking so much easier and better. and it had like a 10 year warranty and it is a high quality product

Okay, so, Safe Haven is one of my favorite movies, and I have the same reaction to Julianne Hough's haircut in that movie every time I watch it. I haven't don't it yet, but I know it's going to happen at some point.

I have a Dries Van Noten Coat, bought at Barney's. It's technically a Fall Coat. But I wore it just this week in New York during the Christmas lead up. It's a 3K coat. But I bought it when I was gainfully employed during the worst days of the Great Recession. And it was just 300 bucks. I've had it 10 years, expect to have it at least 20 more...or until it gets eaten up by moths. It is super warm and luxurious. And it cuts a flattering silhouette that makes people see me. I'm a true believer in buying high quality at steep discounts. I keep just about everything that I love forever.

I’m very late to comment because I was away on another trip! (Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia) I’m so glad I’ve had the courage to start travelling frequently, two summer holidays in one year is truly life goals for me ☺️ and I’m only 22! Aside from that, my best purchases of the year are.. new nike runners because I really enjoy a 5km run most afternoons, my iPad to start drawing digitally for design at uni, and my braces because I’ve always wanted good teeth 😊

My best purchase would be my couch, my vaccume and my ticket home. My worst purchase would probably be my bachelor degree. My advisor screwed up 4 times which ended up adding on 2 year of time and I ended up with a different degree because my department got closed.

I would love to go with my boyfriend to New Orleans or New York or Ireland. He loves traveling, so he is my perfect pick to have some loving company.
I hope you have a blessed week ahead and thank you for sharing all your experiences. (:
