Hi Barry enjoyed your videos, can I just give you a bit of advice, when you sanded the perch bobber down if you save some of the sanded down cork dust you can use it to make repairs to the bodies. Love the lathe I have two lathes a large one and a cheap Chinese one but would love a Proxxon.
your welcome, was the best, showing how the whipping works, as I stated in the video, follow the links in the top right hand corner and watch the recommended channels, they will show u how to do it better than me
Quality vid, mate; Load's of good advice and know - How. Really helped me!..and by the way... your humility, skill and craftmanship are admirable! Good work!
Most organised Man cave ive ever seen lol. Good work, I personally would never have the patience for this I don't think but im sure thounsands will really benefit from these videos barry. Top man
Good day Sir, I have a question for you. This perch bob you made, you placed an eye on the bottom. Can a person not place an eye and just use an o-ring on top and bottom?
Hi Barry, do you ever use cork dust mixed with pva wood glue, as a filler when the cork gets torn up. It has saved my bacon more than once, the same goes with balsa dust. ✌❤ Bob.
Really nice mate I’m a furniture maker and definitely gonna give it a go. I just bought the lathe same as yours from eBay can’t wait You should try some Devon minnows there cool Also I’m thinking maybe try cutting a grove for the wire on the eye. It’s not a criticism mate your floats are amazing and if I could make some anywhere near as good as yours I’ll be happy!!! Thanks so much for the video totally awesome!
Nice one, good luck with your float making and glad the video helped in some way! :) oh and I do normally cut a grove, I dont think I showed it for some reason! lol
Ive making a few floats. Can i ask how you faded the yellow and black colours on your perch patterned bobbers? I want to learn how to do patterns etc. Love these videos by the way.
Nice one, thank you! its not to hard, I looked at how lure anglers paint there patterns on lures and used some of there ideas and ways in doing this. I used an airbrush set up. you could use spray paint but will be harder with detail on a smaller float like a perch bob unlike a pike float. also I make stencils too for the striping! check out lure makers on youtube and watch some of what they do!
Hi Mate, Brent here from last cast, we are going to be doing more perch vids this year, if you want to bung us a few floats (pardon the pun😉) we will be more than happy to feature them for you, if it helps get your business off the ground, always happy to help a fellow Piker mate.
Hello Brent, I hope ur well fella, not been the same without u on camera joining bobs... hope to see u back in action again soon! yeah once im up and running and selling later in the year, I will send u a few to test for me, I know u will give an honest review. Im still testing myself at the moment with prototypes...

+London Predator Angler The comment was actually a compliment regarding your float making ability, especially considering you're a relative amateur/newbie to making them.
Disregard my question lol. You answered it in the video. I watched it 2x and caught it. Great job. Great craftsmanship!
No worries!
loving this series, but i do want to get in your workshop and mess it up a bit, just so I am not the only scruffy bastard who makes floats
hahahaha thanks MATE!!! lol, I wish I had a workshop, its just a desk on my bedroom! lol

Nice one muka
Hi, do you sell your floats?

@@LondonPredatorAngler That's a shame but fair enough - thanks for the tip re the Facebook page. :)
Basic but passable floats. Shame about the actual fishing. You'll get better at fishing if you actually fished a bit more 👌.
