Nice video! Since I live in Montreal, the best morning ride is going on the Mont Royal and almost having it to yourself! Then you can flow downtown and through Old Montreal to cross the St-Lawrence River and enjoy the view of the city from the Parc Jean Drapeau. I don't skate, but during the winter I strap XC skis to my bike, bring them to the mountain, go up and down, then cycle back home, it's fun. I can also bring ice skates pretty much everywhere.
That's such a nice ride, we went up Mont Royal last time we were there! Really cool to hear you can XC ski the mountain in the winter that sounds dreamy!

I can completely relate. People just casually say beautiful day when its un-seasonably warm and its like a trigger. Do you people not understand how horrifying this is. And then all we can do is try and dissociate for a little bit and enjoy ourselves and this moment. How humanity got to this point is mind boggling.
I skate and just bought my first proper bike last week, also got the All-City Gorilla Monsoon. We moved to the countryside on the border or Belgium and Germany two years ago and there aren't any skateparks within a 60km radius, so going out skating is a bit more of a mission these days. I got the bike because we have tons of amazing forest trails around us and I need a disconnect like what skateboarding was to me when we lived in the city. Stoked to have found your channel ✌

I love watching your videos I used to cycle a lot and I did a lot of romancing it but no I broke out the surly and started riding again and now I just purchased an orbea gravel.
This was excellent... happy to have stumbled upon your video this morning! Can totally relate to skating in my 30's, although I tend to go back and forth either riding bikes or skateboarding. Still sending it too much on the board, get hurt can't ride bike so lately its just bikes.
I have no clue how I ran into your channel, but geez I love it! I’m in my early 30’s and I used to skate as well. I was very aggressive with it. I don’t skate as much anymore but I still have a board and plan on riding more often again. Lately I’ve been obsessed with riding e-bikes. Great video. +1 SUB.

I recently got back into dirt bike riding and have been enjoying just getting out on the trails, taking in the nature and improving my fitness and smoothness on the bike rather than trying to hit massive jumps or doing anything wild. I was have huge crash on downhill mtb on 2015, and start skateboarding on that year while on recovery. Until now im still skateboarding but less mountain biking 😂 my interest now are into all terrain bikes.

At 37, I'm giving up my car, getting back on my bike, and learning to cruise on skateboards! Im hoping my life can slow down enough to counter the overwhelm of the modern world.
Dude when I was younger (about the same age as you) 90's-2000's if you just skated around a park you were a poser or other colorful names and so much pressure to perform vs just enjoying. Now it's a lot more fun minus being older and thinking I'm still young on the board 🛹 I have to remind myself at the local skatepark to just ride around and enjoy it not trying to impress anyone and definitely can't afford another injury. Or want to deal with the pain 😂 I'm new here but totally felt connected to the content man. Cheers from Oklahoma and happy holidays

@@zensukaiThanks for watching! We’ll keep documenting the winter ahead! I’ve had an up and down relationship with winter (like most Canadians in snowy parts of the country). I’ve tried the beater bike route where I rode a cheap bike all year, I’ve tried fat biking, I’ve tried just staying fit indoors, and I think this year we’ll go back to fat biking as it was by far the funnest. As long as my fingers don’t freeze while I handle the camera 😆
@bike.breath I am in Alberta and Fat Bikes are the thing here. I have also tried indoor bike trainers, but it is just not the same. I hear yah with the frozen digits -- depending on how things go, I might get me a pair of those groovy handlebar mitts. =]

I keep it in my feed bag while I'm drinking it. I think I might actually enjoy drinking my coffee the most when I am drinking it while gliding down hill. Do you actually call that Alternative cycling-or just a title of a vid? How do people react? Do you have to explain it to people?

I don’t always stop to make coffee, I often go to cafes instead but on this day I had a larger window of free time than usual so I thought I’d just use it doing stuff that leaves me just sitting in a park and taking it slow. I consider this alt cycling! Our little community of alt cycling seems to be growing and in my opinion it embraces things like steel bikes, slow rides, not always covering a ton of distance, basically a non-competitive side to the sport. No one has really asked to be honest! I think some of the larger RUclips channels like Path Less Pedalled have helped put it on people’s radar a bit more.
I just wanted to tell you that I have a lot of old vintage road bicycles and I ride them every day around my city. I live in a small town in Ohio. Even in the winter when it gets cold I ride my bike I just wanted to tell you. I ride my bike like a monster I go fast I have a lot of stamina.
I'm in my mid 40's and am now an exclusive practitioner of the surf skate style. I can still rip the sidewalks without too much of a risk of breaking bones. and I like bikes. It's where old skaters go to die.

Stop for "STOP"signs! (2:20) Obey the rules of the road. What's to keep you from riding on the wrong side of the road if it's more convenient? Why not jump curbs or blast through construction sites? You are supposed to take your RIGHTFUL place on the road; no more, no less. It's hard enough to get bike improvements in cities as it is. On an unrelated note: you mentioned your childhood concussion and your subsequent trepidation on the skateboard. Might not a helmet be in order?
Hey! Thanks for watching. You might be surprised how common the “Idaho Stop” is. While it hasn’t been legally introduced anywhere in Canada yet there’s a lot of cyclists who stand by its place in cycling. I’m not sure where you live but where I live cycling infrastructure is at risk of being removed regardless of overwhelming positive data (thanks Doug Ford). Me turning right in a quiet residential area that I know well, full of one ways (where I can see all intersecting lanes) should be less of a concern than much larger anti-cycling laws trending into conservative politicians plans. Yup! It's hard not to feel defeated when individual action only does so much against the massive powers who pollute so much.

We use a GoPro 10, and also use our Fujifilm XT5 for a lot of the b-roll!
