I got the Model Y RWD long range quick silver with white interior £387 per month I ordered 11th Nov and collected 13th Nov ! Was a bit of a surprise, 12 months free supercharging included in the deal, looking forward to going to Italy in the spring to see my wife’s side of the family 🙂 make the most of the free supercharging 🙂
As usual, very useful Jim. Thanks. Been for a second test drive today in an AWD MY (and a Model 3 but that’s too low down for my old bones!). I’m considering a 2 year lease deal - any thoughts if 2 years doesn’t make sense? My rationale is that it gives a relatively low cost entry into Tesla (due to the deal), allows us to do some continental travel hols, doesn’t bind us in too long and by the end of the lease the replacement version will probably be well established and an option for us to consider then. Also by then the EV market may have matured even more.
Cheers James, had a sleepless night last night, ended up watching your video and then using your referral code and bought myself a Model Y for Christmas - yet to tell the good lady 😄, I now need to decide what to buy her for Christmas. Cheers Buddy 👍
Nice one Jim cool one not bad at that cost /month … 16k for 3 years ,5330 year cost about right for a car of that value , and do not forget the stupid luxury car tax for cars over 40K as well…..
@ my current car Mercedes hybrid will be 8 years old jan 1 and next spring will sell a get a leased EV , hoping the government hike the cost from 40k to 50k and look at the Volvo ex30 or whatever
My BMW i4 M50 is going back next month as it was on a company salary sacrifice scheme and I’m leaving. Saw this deal earlier this week and placed an order this morning. Monthly cost was too good to ignore. Still not sure how I’ll get on without a HUD as I’ve had one on every car for the last 13 years!
Interesting info as always Jim. Although annoyingly, Tesla's monthly lease details are illustrative only & not guaranteed. Picking my Model 3 rwd we discussed about next Tuesday...can't wait👍
As an older customer now retired I feel the option of buying outright makes more sense. I wouldn’t dream of replacing any car at just three years old so my depreciation curve would look quite different over say six years? The bigger issue for me would be taking the gamble on buying an EV whilst the technical advancement is still progressing so quickly. New models are improving in leaps and bounds every year making it difficult to judge when to take the leap!
Not the cheapest EV SUV out there.... VW ID.4 Match Pro is available for £375 a month (3 years 10,000 miles £1200 up front) or £415 for a factory order. As a wise man once said "shop the deal, not the car"!! 😀
ID also less likely to leak, have better ride comfort and be much quieter. VW drive assist also won't phantom brake and can do lane changes. Tesla app + 0-60 better though.
He did, but he never said this was the cheapest SUV around. Having had a fair bit of experience in both the Tesla is by far the better choice in my view. ID7 is a more worthy competitor really but the ID4 is pretty decent.

@DefinitelyNotAGuru Thanks bud, a couple of straight 6's too. Always been into cars, not so much the modern stuff but I still like to keep an eye on what's around.
According to the pop-up on the screen it does. It specifically says you get £500 credit for Supercharging & Accessory for Personal/Business Contract Hire (PCH/BCH) 👍
In the market for a model y around March 25. Looking around a 6 year ownership period. Would you buy a second hand one around £29k or do two 3 year PCH?
Hmmm, great question. Would need to give it some thought but I’d probably do the 2 PCH’s simply for the peace of mind. All always depends on the deal at the time of course. I think the best price to buy a used EV at is £10-£15k in terms of protecting yourself from future depreciation. A £15k model 3 today will probably still be worth £8k in 3 years whilst a £29k model 3 might be worth £12-£15k in 3 years (in my opinion).
With a 3 yr PCH you have no MOT and your going to get the new latest model every 3 years so needs to be factored in , I think the depreciation on buying one makes the PCH look the best deal imo.
@@TheTrinitygroup yea I think with MOT and say £500/1000pa on maintenance, Tyres etc. your not that far off them being the same. But you get to drive around in a new vehicle & peace of mind of no surprise costs, even that’s worth a small premium per month
Gutted, bought the standard range from your link on here a few months ago…the range really is disappointing, wish I’d waited for this. I also didn’t get the free Supercharging. Any chance I can leave my link? 😊

@@DefinitelyNotAGurusounds fair, although I drove all over Europe in a MY performance and range was never any sort of issue most times the hotel we stayed had a charger and on really long runs we just stopped for food 30minutes maximum and topped right up. Yep, it's actually got a bigger upfront payment on it though - I did cover it in the filming but I rambled so much I edited the section out. I think the added range of the RWD probably makes it the better proposition.

No, I think a 2 year is probably the ideal, just usually carried a bit of a premium 👍👍
Picked mine up on Saturday in Midnight Cherry. Loving it! Got it machine polished and ceramic coated immediately as the paintwork wasn’t great.
Enjoy 👍👍
