A small beginner tip for the early game. If you hare having difficulty finding a location where you can both mine and sell the goods in the same sector (as your captains are not yet skilled enough to travel enough sectors on their own yet, you can set up a small mining station where the ores are, and a small trade station near where the ore demand is (The trade station just need docks and a bit of storage). Set a ship or two on repeat orders to move the ores from the mining station to the trading station. The NPC traders can then buy the ores from the trading station and sell it at where ever it is needed. You can also assign cargo ships to the trade station if you want to deliver the traded goods yourself (a great way to level up captains).
