  • Viewsonic XG270QG review: Viewsonic joins in the 1ms IPS gaming screen fun. The XG270QG has loads of features and great image quality but an unncessary high colour gamut.

"not often what I want", PLEASE SPEAK FOR YOURSELF. A lot of people including myself like the vibrant cololors. btw, the contrast is the same as the LG, any differences in contrast is just panel variance. Gaming isn't as good as the LG when it comes to peak performance since anything higher than standard gives massive overshoot, which means the monitor is stuck at 5.5ms(5.2ms if u factor in variable overdrive) at 165hz.

Contrast is not the same, as countless other reviews will tell you. The LG is consistently around 700-800:1 and the Asus VG27AQ and gigabyte FI27Q are around 1100-1200:1. That's a big, easily noticeable, difference. As for vibrant colours, it's partly personal preference when watching video and gaming but for editing pictures and video a good srgb mode is essential, and it's generally desirable for general desktop use too. The LG's srgb mode consistently has an overly blue colour to it (7000k colour temp in my testing, 6800k for tftcentral, for instance). If you're going to lock down all other controls, you need to do better than that.

Umm no, most content is in sRGB and it looks terrible without a proper sRGB clamp.
