Seamless Load Screens >> To answer your question at the 13:13 mark, whenever you step inside a Mystic Gateway Portal in order to use fast travel, that entire ethereal/blue path represents the branches of the Yggdrasil Tree. But it also serves a purpose. That whole area is just a "lobby" that gives the CPU time to load game assets without having the player stare at a blank screen, or a "loading" animation while waiting. It allows players to believe they are traveling toward their destination, while the CPU loads the next location seamlessly. The white door appears when all the game assets have been fully loaded.
In addition, some other "seamless load screens" are also applied whenever Kratos & Atreus squeeze through any tight passageways (or crouch into tunnels) to get to the next "open area". These types of traversal mechanics do not require a ton of graphics to execute, so CPU memory is freed-up to seamlessly load a lot more "game assets" in the background, without any major interruption in gameplay. These are a few methods that Game Developers use when they say their game has "no load screens".

I started to realize over time that if I just stood there the door would show up. I thought maybe it was based on loading time. Eventually they do a great job of putting in a lot of dialogue with Mimir and Atreus which really helps.

The Blades of Chaos are from Ares, the Greek's fallen God of War from the old games. They're attached to Kratos' arms via chains (hence the chains scars on his forearms), serving as both weapons and marks of his servitude to the God of War. He used his blades to kill people in his conquest for Ares.

You could tell her was feeling super hesitant about putting them on but also he kept them around for a reason, didn't he?

@@kabvrv Oh he tried to get rid of them but they just always found their way back to him! The last attempt was when he threw them into the sea but the sea rejected them and broke his boat; washing up ashore, the blades of chaos just sat there next to him. They always come back due to being bound to him. So, Kratos eventually gave up and had to settle for keeping the Blades hidden.
