Super job Shelly and your so polite 👌👌👍👍
Hey Tinkering thank you, I was taught to be polite. (Shelly)
Hi Shelly,
Hopefully another home will be built at this location.
It is a completely different job than in an existing home. Hans
Compliments for your architectural knowledge Shelly. Hans
Hey Hans,
Yes he is building another house on this lot. It was quite different then a line in a house. Thank you I try to know what I'm talking about. (Shelly)
GOOD JOB SHELLY WELL DONE SEE YOU NEXT TIME
Thank you John
Thank you so much for posting this. This was my family’s house. I just moved my mom and sister out of here in September basically as an emergency move. The house was built in 1872. It was bought by my maternal grandparents in the 1940s. My mom grew up in it and lived most of her life here. And I mostly grew up here. I’m 31 now and basically left when I went to college in 2010. For the past approximately 15 years, the roof progressively leaked more and more, rotting the house inside. It was so bad in the past few years that the walls and floors were collapsing. Holes in the roof big enough to see through let water pour through with every rain. Yes, oh yes, this was a house here on Ritter Street. I would love to share more if you have any questions of curiosity. I wish you a wonderful day! -Ernie
You are so very welcome, I'm glad you were able to see this. I was born and raised in Nashua as well. I would love to know more if you don't mind sharing. I love learning the history of our city. I am however sorry they had to tear down yours and your mom's childhood home. I wish you very well and I would also like to know, out of curiosity how you happened to stumble onto this video. Hope you and your family have a very wonderful holiday season. (Shelly)
@@DrainMedic I found your video because I have been doing a Google search every day about the demolition, hoping that someone might have taken some kind of pictures or video. I am surprised to see the sewer pipe even in that well of condition because everything about the home was decaying. Just seeing someone visit and talk about the land and home brings me peace that its demolition was witnessed. I visited this past Saturday to see the land as it was in your video (probably a day or so after you were there). The neighbors were able to show me pictures of the pile of rubble. But, it is so intriguing to me that I wish I could have seen the demolition happen. We left the house full of most of the things my family has owned because we couldn't take it all. I can imagine the demolition must have been a massive project to not only haul away the building, but also everything that was in it. You're right, it was a very small plot of land. Being built back in 1872, it must have been one of few on the street at the time, so I have always been surprised that the land included only about eight or so feet of property surrounding most of the sides of the house. Google maps shows pictures of the red house of 20 Ritter Street this year and dating back to 2007. And, I have assembled a file of pictures, including a couple from back when my grandparents bought the house, at drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xX5LYArQEsBF7jekFBB3l5JQPc1bHWLZ?usp=sharing I have also written about this experience on my Facebook page at facebook.com/erniewbrooks12/posts/pfbid0L3prabnUwceCr5QVqtX3z2NRjH2jp2oJ3S3koiuhCX7LwS3AkkF3RWe2SsqY5xA6l Thank you again for posting this video. For you, I can tell it is a part of showing the wisdom of the work you do. For me, it is part of seeing a moment in time of the land I grew up on.
It is very heartwarming to hear we were able to provide you some comfort with this video. Thank you for sharing your story I can't wait to see the pictures and read your story on Facebook as well. For us yes it is about showing the knowledge of what we do. However it is also showing how we help people and care for people and their property. So it really does touch our hearts that you liked it and that it has done exactly what we like to achieve in our videos. (Shelly)
Were the roots blocking the line?
Yes but he is changing the direction of the line anyway so he is just going to cut this one and not use it. (Shelly)
honestly, even if it was all cast iron or concrete pipe, if putting in a new building it's in the best interest to fully replace it. who wants new construction with a sewer that may fail in no time, at least beyond the sewer departments side.
That is why the gentleman called us to check the line, he is going to redirect it anyway. (Shelly)
Definitely Orangeburg pipe
I totally would have fallen into the foundation hole lol
Me too. lol (bob)
