My problem had always been that movement and aiming are separate for me. I either move to not get hit, or aim to click heads, and very rarely doing the two together. So im essentially a simple target when i am shooting.
I know that feel. (I am a controller player). I tell myself all the time, just move your Left Stick a little side by side while aiming.....but my mind completely forgets it at the crucial time :p

Man I remember that clip at 7:13 like it was yesterday, I always loved those pre-stasis Trials sessions. Was also fun doing help even if we didn’t always go flawless. Trials is fine now, but it’s just not the same I guess. Anyway, thanks for saving me in that clip LOL

On that last clip, I would have totally missed the little bit of player behind the cover moving as fast as you were. That’s when I usually get shotgunned in the back.
Not that I would necessarily advocate the use of purchasing a product to make your aiming experience more consistent, but the KontrolFreek stick attachments really help at maintaining a more precise stick movement on higher sensitivities. They take some getting used to and they felt weird to me for the first month or so, but having them lets you run higher sensitivity for those twitch/shotgun/jumping moments while having more precision control for those tighter moments.
@@HCgamer4 I absolutely recommend them to anyone playing an FPS on controller. They help to make quick movements more precise, and are especially useful for playing with snipers and very close range with shotguns. Overall, my shot definitely improved after getting used to their feel
Another thing I noticed about that last clip that Patty didn't mention, is that there are lots of indicators you can use to estimate head height. The head height for the first kill on the spectral blades could be estimated by seeing where shadow's head was, and assuming that the spectral's head would be somewhere near there when they pushed (it was). The head height for the second kill couldn't really be estimated without good game sense and practice, and they jumped anyway so even then it would be very hard to get right. There weren't any obvious indicators there without great map knowledge. For the final kill, the enemy was behind the pillar, towards the right. For this engagement, the enemy is likely to run or peek out from the right side of the pillar; as they couldn't revive their teammates without engaging anyway; they had no choice but to fight. Jarbot's ghost is a perfect indicator of head height, so Patty aimed at that same height. I assume Patty aimed slightly to the right of the ghost either A. To allow more time for the reaction or B. To allow a clearer view of the enemy's head, as there won't be a blue glowing orb in the way. Honestly I hadn't even thought about this before and have just started recording my own gameplay to analyze, so clearly gameplay analysis in invaluable for improvement. Although it may not always be required if you can dedicate enough time to practicing.
also, if you're still having trouble landing shots, try not to focus on your target while you're shooting, but focus on your crosshair (specifically, the laser dot of your reticle while ADSing). Took me a while to realize, but its helped me a lot
Just want to say your vids have been a huge help to me. I never realized that low sensitivity is really where its at for PvP. I was running like 10000 edpi for a bit before dropping down to 3200... that felt too sluggish while running, so I used your settings for 4000 edpi when not aimed and 3200 when scoped. I suddenly went from not being able to hit anyone with a sniper to actually wiping a team in gambit today with my Succession. Something I thought I'd never be able to do. So thanks for all the tips and advice! I may never be a great PvP player, but at least I won't always feel like a detriment to my team now.
