There's a few exposed electric wires make me feel a little uneasy at the idea of pointing a garden hose at it for cleaning. Looking forward to the road tests, I expect this to be a beautiful riding bike, Thanks for the pics!
I don't get why BMW fitted the RR and the XR with twin symmetrical lights and in their wisdom decided to slap the lamp off an R1250R on to the S1000R. It's a thumbs down from me anyway, they dropped the ball on this design I think.
I appreciate that the rear section is basically the S1000R with that exposed trellis frame, but overall, the new design is far too docile for me, the rear end requires something a bit more aggressive up front. I love the looks of the R as it seems more cohesive in design.
Great detailed pictures. That is a good looking motorcycle but way too overpriced compared to its competitors. The Aprilia Tuono factory has semi active ohlins forks and brembo brakes for the same price range. The Triumph speed triple RS has ohlins and brembo and is way cheaper. Yamaha MT10 is almost another bikes worth cheaper.
Thanks for posting! But like others have stated, the headlight is a real bummer. I have the '18. I would like a new one, but I may go with the RR unless someone smart in Germany can design a headlight for '22...Ride safe my brothers and sisters! From So. Calif.
The uniqueness is it is a BMW. The first motorrad/Motorcycle to have a functional quick shifter up and down with auto blip, cruiser control, heat grips, tractions, ABS while leaning, forged wheels, 6 AXIS IMU. and other bike are still working on quick shift up only!

Ich komme auf 21.000€..., dass sie alles hat, was meine 19er hat...und da muss ich leider sagen, dass ich die 21.000€ nicht sehe an dem Bike! Völlig überzogene Preis/Leistung, abseits der Realität. Und das bei gleich gebliebener Motorleistung...ein weiteres no-go. Ich bin enttäuscht. Einzig der voll LED SW und das Tachodisplay sind nice to have.

vollausgestattet 21000Euro das ist definitiv zu viel für das gebotene,da fährt BMW genau den gleichen Mist wie bei den Autos Basispreis und dann nimmt man beim Zubehör noch den Lezten Euro,was die Leistung angeht ja 160 PS reichen für die Ladstrasse,aber der Motor ist kein 1:1 von der Rennmaschine sondern der gleiche der in der XR verbaut ist und ohne Shiftcam,das einzige was sie mit der R gemein hat ist die Elektronik zwar in abgespeckter Form und den Rahmen,man kann sich das schön reden wie man will aber es ist ein Mix aus XR und der S1000RR sehr traurig.Man wollte so einen relativ tiefen Basispreis erreichen und dann beim Zubehör richtig reinlangen.Typische Preispolitik bei BMW,dann macht man sich nicht mal die Mühe eine eigenständige Maske zu entwerfen die wenigstens etwas von der RR abgeleitet ist,sonndern eine Biedere Maske.Ich habe keine Zweifel das sich das Motorrad trotzdem verkaufen wird aber bei 21000 Euro da werden einige dann vileicht eher zu einer Superduke oder Streetfighter greifen.BMW hat einfach die Chance verpasst ein richtig geiles Killerbike zu bringen so ist es ein Biederes etwas geworden das spießig und total Langweilig wirkt.Neben der Superduke,Tuono und der Streetfighter wirkt das Ding einfach Langweilig und Bieder.Wenn man es einfach mit dem Basispaket nimmt dann kann man wenigstrns argumentieren das man vileicht ein Solides Bike hat für einen vernünftigen Preis.Mit der Vollausschtattung ist sie so teuer das ich da keinen Grund sehe die s1000r zu nehmen.Wenn dan lieber die Vorgängerin vollausgestattet,wo man weiss das die fertigentwickellt ist und dazu wesentlich günstiger vollausgestattet.Dazu hat die Alte mehr Charakter bei weiten und der Motor hat mit dem Damaligen Superbike mehr gemein.Sorry BMW das war einfach ein Griff ins Klo😒
Am geilsten war die Aussage von dem BMW Typen bei 1000 PS, der meinte, die könnten mit den Japanern mithalten... Leider nein, leider gar nicht 🤣 Über 16k sehe ich die Kiste auch nicht... Triumph macht da ein deutlich besseres und ehrlicheres Angebot als BMW. Die S sieht genau so billig aus, wie sich die F 900 R, die ich im Vorfeld sehr interessant fand, anfühlt 😅 Unter 18k wäre ich mit der BMW auch nicht happy. Nach dem Video sehe ich diesen Preis aber nicht mehr. Hfftl. macht Aprilia nicht auch so ein Plastikschlachtschiff aus der Tuono.
I love it now. I hated it at first, but my opinions has changed. We have too many bikes trying to be unique nowadays, having normal styling with premium materials is refreshing for once.
They got lazy at BMW and just stuck the lamp off an R1250R on it and thought they'd get away with it. I'm not a lover of the present lighting set up, but it's more distinctive that that set up.
@@iuaj personally i prefer something like the rear fender eliminators for the 2020 s1000rr with the led strip... or in any case a true rear brake light. I live in a city where car drivers barely see when you brake, imagine with only those tiny indicators
I bet a lot of people who were expecting big things will be very disappointed with the overall design. The front of the bike looks like the budget run out. I’ve no doubt it will be a great bike but come on what makes it unique and stand out from the rest of the pack.
That is absolutely disgusting 🤮🤮!! All the S series 4 cylinder bikes should have a twin headlight setup to keep the family look. Single headlamp does not suit this at all and just does not belong on it. Horrible sloppy design details with exposed wires an connectors showing all over the place and that bottom exhaust run with the catalyst looks like a terrible bodge job! No doubt BMW will sell you a lower fairing to cover it up for £800 quid or so 😳 Extremely poor effort BMW, especially for the over inflated prices you are charging!
No twin headlights, no white face tachometer, no passenger seat and no power increase, but I'm sure there will be a price increase. BMW really fucked this up...
So eine schlechte Umsetzung im Lampenmaskendesign. So wird nun eine "F" als "S" verkauft. Bei der XR hat man´s doch auch geschafft das Familiengesicht der "S" Modellreihe zu platzieren. Wieso nur nicht bei der neuen "R", die vorne eine starke Ähnlichkeit zur F900R aufweist und auch der R1250R ähnelt... Ich kapier es einfach nicht... Echt traurig. Auf der anderen Seite dennoch gut so - dann spar ich mir die Kohle für und kauf mir keine neue "F"1000R und fahr meine 2014-er einfach weiter, weil die nach 50tkm immer noch top funktioniert!
