So yeah, Legendary James Bond. I think this game has learned a lot of the lessons from other legendary games and is a very solid entry in the series. That said, if you can't stand legendary or James Bond, it wont fix those issues for you as it is just more of the same core concept, just executed a bit better than some in the series. And as for Roger Moore. I wish he'd stopped after For your eyes only, but that and the Spy who loved me are probably my two fav bond films. Right up there with Golden eye and From Russia with love. I like the campness and dry wit of Moore. He'd was just too old by the time A view to a kill came out.
Ooops, correction. I played the danger level rules wrong, its the yellow triangle, not the red dots. This makes the game much easier than the brutal version i was playing, lol
Legendary Alien actually is my favorite Deckbuilder, rated even (slightly) higher than great games as: - Arnak - Dune Imperium - Tyrants of the Underdark - Imperium Classic/Legends - Aeon's End - the Quest for El Dorado
This is my favorite Legendary game and one of my favorite games ever. One quick note--and I had to dig through the rules to double check--you say in the video to place the Danger Level at 1 at the beginning. This should be set to 0.
This should be a game and a theme I should theoretically be interested in, much like Marvel Legendary which I also don't own. There is something about what I see in the play that I think would disappoint me and also get old very quickly. Are there a lot of duplicate cards? That is a major turn off to me, in that if I buy a game with a theme I like and a lot of cards (e.g. Terraforming Mars, Twilight Struggle) I figure that the makers of the game are creative and non-lame enough to actually make all of the cards unique.
@@tinstargames I get that. But it doesn't change my opinion that I prefer original art to screenshots. Plus Upper Deck did original art for many of their Legendary games including Alien, Predator, Big Trouble in Little China, etc. So I doubt money's an issue for them.
I think they also got brutally hassled for the art in firefly by folks out there. Like, look at the comments about that game floating about, almost all of them piss on the art. And, well, why pay for stuff thats gonna get roasted. Pics are cheaper and while they might not make peoples heart soar, they are less likley to get such a visceral response.
@@3MBG Yeh that's also true. It just feels a bit lazy to me. A game that does the art well imo is Dune Imperium. Has all the actor likenesses while still being original artwork. *Chef's kiss* 👨🍳
I like it, but I don't love it. The weird concept of 2 (or more) Bonds playing is odd, the Moneypenny cards are a total waste of time, and the competitive game is just bizarre.
I feel this is the worst entry in the whole of Legendary. There is a bad guy that has an ability that moves the track twice. It often will just tank the game before you can do anything about it.

Roger Moore Bond is best Bond. In the same way that Tom Baker is the best Dr, and that Thursday follows Wednesday
Give this man a Jelly baby!
The Spy Who Loved me is a fun expansion. Jaws kills Q branch very quickly, and you get the underwater Lotus.
The year as I am writing this is the 60th anniversary of the Dr. No film. What a good time to talk about this game!
Just finished a massive rewtcth of the series as well, as they all came on our streaming service as part of that Anniversary event.

Looks like a great theme for a Bond fan.
I grew up with Rodger Moore was the Bond of my childhood so I grew up watching him on rainy bank holiday afternoons so I like him too 😉

Yep, i also totally got the danger level rules wrong, which makes the game a lot easier.

Well to be fair Roger Moore is rather well-suited to boardgames, with cardboard a suitable vehicle for showcasing his acting talents ;¬)
Hahahaha, i can't hate this comment because its such a good burn
I've only played legendary Firefly which I really like. (Apart from the artwork) maybe I should track someone down who has this one to try out
I don't want to hear anything about Legendary until LE Matrix. 😂
Are they doing that? Interesting
A good game to drink Vodka martini shaken not stirred 😎
A fellow Roger Moore fan - we are brothers
Dissing Timothy Dalton - we are nemeses
I didn't diss Dalton, just mentioned hes not in the game at all
@@3MBG ohhh I misunderstood that sentence
An Evil deck of cards 🤣
It totally is, in both senses of the word :)
Glad your not ashamed of liking Roger Moore
Most likeable man on earth when he was alive ;)
Not a fan of the film screenshots as card art. Much prefer the original art in Legendary Alien.
me too
I know game companies aren’t exactly poor but art ain’t exactly cheap

The chase mechanic? I liked that personally, added some drama but yeah, its not very fair
@@3MBG I was fine with all of the except the one with double chase.
First
Well, technically i was first ;) lol
@@3MBG but you made video.
