If you read the Veridescent Venerer lore, it is stated there that the Dendro Archon died when the forest of Sumeru burned. It is also related to the Crimson Witch artifacts lore. The forest fire happened when the Cataclysm happened 500 yrs ago. It means the fall of Khaenri'ah affected a lot of areas in Teyvat. It may also mean not all Archons' are involved (if they are) with the destruction.

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  3 года назад +62

I'll have to read up on those then, I remember them being around at the time of the cataclysm but never really researched the artifacts more than reading them over once or twice. I wonder about the other previous archons btw, if Venti and Zhongli are the last two originals, how did the others die? I have no facts to back it up but the other twin having a story of defeating all the archons as their quest while ours is more like making friends with them could be the case.

I have a feeling this game will end up being very morally gray. The Tsarista seems to have good reason to gather the Gnosis from the other Archons if she wants to defy Celestia. However, the way she's going about it is probably why both Zhongli and Venti don't necessarily join her, but also don't care their Gnosis are gone either.
There's the meteorite quest in which one of Tsarista's own Harbinger's isn't aware of the false sky. I'm assuming the Archons would know it's fake so why were her Harbingers not informed of this if she wants them to help her take down Celestia? The Harbingers are also seen as extremely powerful and supposedly referred to as "Lord" and "Lady" by their foot soldiers. In a way Tsarista has created her own Archons with them. It's questionable right now if she plans to establish her own rule with her Harbingers after Celestia is taken down as well, something Venti would be opposed to as the God of Freedom.
That may be why they had a falling out actually. First of all I'm assuming Venti doesn't want to drag his people into a war against Celestia (especially considering what Celestia did to Dragonspine and the loss of his friend in the past.) To the Tsarista this probably made Venti seem indifferent to Celestia's rule, Khaenri'ah destruction and even the death of the Dendro Archon if Celestia was the ones who killed him.
I think the Tsaritsa's courage is to be admired, but I'm concerned that Celestia will eventually intervene and her people may pay the price for her revolt.

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  3 года назад +16

I'm thinking pretty much the same thing, it'd make the story more interesting and with how they've written a lot of the lore already I'd sort of expect each side to have good and bad points. Sounds similar to how the traveler's twin and Dainsleif have seemingly similar goals but disagree on how to go about achieving them.
Her not telling the Harbingers about the false sky isn't something I'd thought of but that's an interesting point. I think it was Pedrelino the jester that hinted towards Scaramouche finding out something on his mission about the false sky. Him being the first of the Fatui probably means he knows nearly as much as the Tsaritsa as he's been there since the Fatui were founded but I'd guess he probably likes shocking the newer members, kind of like La Signora with Childe. Which is rather strange for a group that's supposed to be working together. I think you're right on why neither Zhongli or Venti want to join in - they're just not wanting their people to get caught up in a war that could destroy them or be lorded over by gods that treat them terribly.
Can't agree more and with Venti pulling pranks on the Tsaritsa who likely takes everything very seriously, it was probably taken as him insulting her and her cause on top of that.
I think Snezhnaya's being attacked is almost inevitable really and unless the Fatui have some absolutely crazy things we haven't seen yet (they probably do) then I just can't see her being able to defeat Celestia atm. The collecting the gnoses thing just doesn't seem like the way to go to me either, especially as they're given out by Celestia. I just can't imagine that even on the tiny chance all the archons decided to go against them that they'd hand out powers that were enough to defeat them. Though on the other side of the coin, if they were already so strong then why would they need the other archons to help destroy Khaenri'ah.

And finally, how advanced do you think Khaen'riah is? Their automatons are equipped with missiles, guns, lasers, energy-based weapons, can fly, and self-activate even after 500 years. Combined with the fact that Khaen'riah is more advanced than Snezhnaya which already has guns, automatons that have AI's (Katheryne), Drones, Human enhancements, huge ships (Teucer refers to massive anchors in Childe's story quest), factories, etc, Khaen'riah seems somewhat like a Sci-fi place at this point.

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  3 года назад +27

It's hard to say exactly how advanced they were but they had around 2000 years without Celestia destroying them after reaching a certain level of advancement so I'd guess they were sort of a sci-fi place.
I could be wrong and am speculating a little but the way I understand it is that there was an ancient nation that was defeated by Celestia invading Teyvat, this nation had the highest level of advancement we've seen and could have worshipped the Irminsul which seems to be the World Tree of Genshin. They stored their knowledge in the Abyss somehow like schematics and blueprints and this is how the more recent nations learned how to build Ruin Guards and have such leaps in technological advancement even though they only seem to be loosely connected.
The people of Dragonspine which predated Khaenri'ah had priests that learned from the ancient nation in the Abyss and we see Dragonspine has those flying machines and Ruin Graders which seem to be unique to the mountain. Though they could all have been machines sent by Khaenri'ah to investigate what happened to Dragonspine or find a certain item as I've read someone suggest.

While I somewhat agree with you(the orig comment), whenever we hear sci-fi we get the idea that it has towering neon architecture, holograms, anything that gives off a cyberpunk aesthetic, but I believe Khaenri'ah is far from that especially in a game with swords and bows. My prediction of what Khaenri'ah looked like is that it has neo-classical architecture but with physics-defying structures and advance technologies, much like Eruditio in a game called Mobile Legends. Still I may be wring tho, in the end it just my own speculation.

I think in the first Dainsleif quest we saw Katheryne describe him as someone with an eyepatch and Paimon wonders if he is a distant relative of Kaeya. Though some quests around the time (I think the Windblume Festival ones) had Kaeya mention that there was someone in Mondstadt that was sneaking around that could've been Dain, it turned out to be Rosaria in the quest stage Realm of Fog and Wind. I might've missed something somewhere about Kaeya being aware of Dain though.

@@TheLaughingManLore That's one good analysis right there. I haven't speculated Dain of being the prowler Kaeya's speaking of before the Rosaria reveal, but I do remember Katheryne comparing Dain to Kaeya. It is just peculiar that the story didn't even made the 2 of them aware of the presence of each other. There's got to be a point somewhere, or else Mihoyo just missed to do that, and by that I mean Mihoyo is trying to conceal it so might as well not add that part to the story.

  • @Latency345
    @Latency345 3 года назад +37

However I'm a bit hung up on some things.
1 - Why did the gods attack Khaenri-ah in the first place place? This matched up with what Venti said about the Tsaritsa saying that 500 years ago, something changed. He also said that he was gone for only half the time. So did he come back from his isolation or disappearance just to destroy Khaenri-ah?
2.How exactly did the denizens of Khaenri-ah become monsters of the abyss? Also why isn't Kaeya one of them?
3.Albedo is a homunculus so he's technically a creature of the abyss? He said that he hoped the traveler could stop them. Is he vaguely aware of the Abyss' plan then?
    4. Why did the Unknown Goddess stopped the twins from leaving?

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  3 года назад +10

      1. I think any sign of defiance against Celestia at a level that could be a potential threat earns their wrath as they seem to want control over all else. I can't say for sure but if the divine of Celestia are his masters then them telling him to do something, even if he'd been away for a while, would be something he'd have to do or likely face being destroyed himself.
      2. It seems to be through the black blood which is also called an ichor or venom in Durin's case of when Dvalin was infected from biting Durin and accidently ingesting it's blood. Kind of like a virus that spreads and corrupts. Kaeya's position of being a royal might have allowed him some time to escape the corruption or perhaps his royal blood had some sort of resistance to the curse is all I can think of as to why he isn't a monster. His eye under the eyepatch could be infected by the curse which is why he hides it.
      3. That is something I don't really have any guesses to unfortunately. We know that our twin was active in Khaenri'ah and Teyvat for an undetermined amount of time before the Sustainer appeared so I'd guess that they did something to really get the attention of her. Possibly killing an archon or assisting in the war against Celestia on some level.
Hope that was helpful but a lot of this is speculation so take my ideas with a grain of salt.

Upon comments from our last thread I shall now reply here!
On the topic of the Tsaritsa, removing the gnosis seems like a smart idea. I’ve been thinking about it and the archon war was for the gods to pick seven who would become archons yes? So Zhongli, for example, should hypothetically be as strong as he was before the end of the archon war yes?
But the gnosis itself is directly created by Celestia (we assume) and the gnosis being much much stronger than visions could mean that Celestia could, to a sense, control those with gnosis.
What if the Tsaritsa has taken out her own gnosis? She would certainly be in a position to do it, the Harbingers still stand strong, they would betray no word of her removing her gnosis right?
I especially like the idea of the God of Time having been perhaps killed in Khaenri’ah! Amazing explanation for the distortion of time!!
Also, more on the Musk family. Isn’t it a little odd that the portal to the abyss is on Musk Reef?? And it’s the Musk family who have learnt Hilichurlan.
Another thing I picked up on which may take awhile for me the explain but on Honey Impact I found a description for an artefact “ He was born with a face fairer than any other,
Destined to a long life and a hollow will.
He was a transcendent being, divinely created, but he was cast aside like worthless dross.
Yet, due to an error that cannot be known, he roused himself from slumber,
And began to wander the mortal realm.
Before the Fatui found him, he had drifted for countless years
And in that time, this is what his experience had taught him:
"I am a human who surpasses all others."
"Even the gods daren't meddle in my fate."
"Neither mortal nor god, nor fate itself, is qualified to be my judge."
"I am free to choose how I wish to spend the remainder of my days."
"Since these mask-wearing people are so fun to be around..."
"I think I'll become one of them."
(If you want me to delete once you’ve read it then just ask and I shall do so!!)
So, I think that’s about Scaramouche, why Scaramouche you ask? Well do you remember the meteor event (I didn’t take part so I’m missing out some stuff) but he didn’t fall into the coma when touching the shards, he also says “the stars are a lie”, all other humans fell into a coma but Scaramouche didn’t, he also knows something.
Which brings me to my next point, Zhongli’s name card’s description is “Stars fall, light dims” and Ningguang’s talent description is “Stars shatter. Silence falls.”
And also, Kaeya is from Khaenri’ah which was underground, should he really have a constellation?
And on Zhongli’s character archive profile his constellation is labelled as “???” (For me at least)
The Iriminsul comes from German/Saxon mythology, it was a sacred pillar like object destroyed by Charlemagne during the Saxon Wars. The oldest chronicle of an Iriminsul refers to it as a tree trunk erected in open air.
The tree links in well with the old Dendro archon having been killed, the old Dendro archon being titled The God of the Woods.
Upon the cataclysm/death of the god the woods it’s stated that the trees and plants won’t talk again. Is this because of the Dendro archon’s death or is it because of the Iriminsul tree?
In Roman mythology, the bough was a tree branch with golden leaves that enabled the Trojan hero Aeneas to travel through the underworld safely. Which is something interesting to think about, Dainsleif being the Bough Keeper and Khaenri’ah being under the world.
Also, Ley Lines are real things! If you search up a Ley Line map it maps out these lines and where they cross is where, typically, you’d find some sort of ancient site e.g. Stone Henge!
“Ley lines refer to straight alignments drawn between various historic structures and prominent landmarks. The idea was developed in early 20th-century Europe, with ley line believers arguing that these alignments were recognised by ancient societies that deliberately erected structures along them.”
“Situated on the dead straight line are numerous sacred sites including Stonehenge, Casterley Camp, Marden Henge, Adam's Grave long barrow, Silbury Hill, Avebury and the Winterbourne Bassett stone circle, which is now long gone. Each sacred site represents a planet and its orbital path.”
I’m not sure how popular Ley Lines are outside of the UK so I’m not sure if you know where I’m talking about but they’re all important ancient sites!!

Yeah that's a really compelling idea, if Visions are a control mechanism in whatever way, it'd make sense that the gnosis was just a super powered version of them and could be detrimental to the owner if Celestia deemed them a threat so the Tsaritsa could very well be keeping them all in a special location and not on her person. Maybe there's a sort of farraday cage type thing that can stop Celestia spying or having control over their creations (visions, gnosis) that Khaenri'ah used and now the Tsaritsa is using. Seems strange that Celestia are just seemingly letting her do what she wants against them.
Thanks! It's a pretty loose connection but it'd make for an interesting story of why the god of time visited there. Maybe they were warning Khaenri'ah of their destruction and Khaenri'ah saw it as a threat.
How do I keep missing these connections? Haha that seems so obvious now!
Ahh yeah I know what you're talking about, very interesting bit of lore that. Honestly I don't know what to do about that sort of info anymore but I'll just say I've read about it and agree with what you've mentioned regarding Scaramouche. There was a good reddit post I saw on it that made a lot of sense and was along the same lines.
The constellations are a strange one and I can't come to a conclusion on what's going on with them. I feel as though they're part of people's souls but that doesn't seem quite right. I wonder if they appear without any intervention or if they are granted to people as a divine blessing.
Yeah I had a great time reading about the Irminsul as I'm from the UK and had never heard of them before. I'd never thought of linking the Dendro archon with the tree though that's actually a great reason for him visiting Khaenri'ah or at least taking an interest in the place if they were so heavily influenced by the Irminsul. I'd guess the plants not talking was due to the Dendro archon dying but that connection is going to have me thinking a lot on it today.
I hadn't heard of that but that's a compelling connection, I know the bough just means the trunk but with the Abyss seeming like a representation of the underworld I think that could be an inspiration for Genshin.
Haha I know about them after meeting a ghost hunter in a pub a while back (long story) and he told me about them and the links with ancient sites. I didn't know they were connected with the orbital path of the planets though - you've sparked my curiosity in them again. Nice to see a fellow UK person btw and thanks for sharing so much interesting information. Always love finding out new ideas and connections from you!

@@TheLaughingManLore Have you seen the new 1.5 video trailer??? If you have then let me tell you as soon as he said Azhdaha i was like “wait...I’ve heard that before!” So I searched it up and I definitely have done!!
Azhdaha is a mythical dragon in Iranian mythology, well its not a dragon but its roughly equivalent to one at least. They are gigantic snake-like creatures living in the air, in the sea, or on the earth. Sad dar-e nathr and sad dar-e Bondahesh, Shahnameh and Garshaspnameh are among the principal texts that contain information about the creature. In Persian literature, Azhdahas are depicted as a giant snake or lizard with wings.
According to tradition, they have a huge body, a fierce face, their mouths are wide with many teeth, and their eyes are bright. Azhdahās are actually normal snakes!
"when a snake lives 100 years and its length becomes 30 Gazes, it is called an azhdahā". He also wrote that "because of their harassment to other creatures, God eventually will throw them into the sea and in there, their body will continue to grow, such that their length becomes more than 10,000 Gazes (a traditional measurement unit approximate to a meter). Then in the sea, they evolve to have two wings, like a fish, and the waves of the sea are because of their movements. Eating the heart of an Azhdahā brings courage and bravery. Their skins are suitable to healing the wound of love, and if someone bury an azhdahā's head in soil, the conditions of that soil will become good."
      [quoted from Ajāyeb ul-Makhlooghāt]
Wanna know why I knew this? Because I have a copy of the Shahnameh (I love the tale of Rostam, what can I say?) and its genuinely helped me so much in theories for the abyss and Khaenri’ah! For e.g:
      Alcaraz Palace:
Alcaraz palace is an ancient palace in Persia, built around 2000 BC in the time of the simurgh. It is completely made out of marble. According to ancient texts, the palace was colossal; a big city under one roof. Its walls extended from one horizon to the other, and it was situated somewhere along the coast of Persia.
The palace was destroyed by rebels, 1000 years after it was built. It was wiped out from existence as well as literature after the burning of the Persepolis by Alexander the Great. It has also been considered to be Atlantis, mentioned in greek mythology due to its technological advancements that surpass even modern technology.
So with all the existing links to ancient Persia (and other ancient civilisations near it) that already exists in Genshin Impact, I genuinely can’t help but think about the links between Alcaraz and Khaenri’ah. A city inside a palace (like Khaenri’ah being underground),
it was destroyed by rebels (Khaenri’ah was destroyed by Gold and Celestia)
it’s not mentioned much in literature bc most evidence of it was wiped out (much like Khaenri’ah not being particularly well known in the sense that it doesn’t seem to be brought up much by other characters unless they are gods or in a position to be able to have access to the required knowledge.)
its technological advancements surpass even that of modern technology (ruin guards, ruin hunters, foul legacy etc.)
      Duzakh:
Duzakh is hell in the Persian mythology.
Hell, in be Zorostrianism (still an active religion today) is described as a deep well, terrifying because it is dark, stinking, and extremely narrow. The smallest of the xrafstars (harmful creatures) are as big as mountains, and all devour and destroy the soul of the damned.
There happens the most horrible punishments and tortures adapted to the sins committed by the damned. There is a lot of emphasis on sexual crimes but also on other actions disapproved of by Mazdean (same as Zorostrianism I think) ethics.
Duzakh is firstly the residence of Ahriman (Angra Mainyu is the hypostasis of the “destructive/evil sprit” he is the opposite of Ahura Mazda), the demons, and the drujes (class of chiefly female evil beings.) All atmospheric calamities are associated with it: snow, cold, hail, rain, burning heat, and so forth.
Can you or can you not see this as the Abyss, Ajax fell into a hole which could’ve very well been a well (lol that was a bit confusing for me to write-) and amongst the monsters he has defeated, he says “I once ventured deep into the abyss and came face to face with an enormous beast. I don't know its name, all I know is the sight of it chilled me to the bone. But mark my words, one day I will march back in there and behead that beast, and you, comrade, will be my witness!” Which is so similar to the description of the xrafstars.
      Something I also like to note on the topic of Ajax and the abyss is what accompanies the boss description of Foul Legacy right at the bottom;
“You shall ever be the eye of the storm,
“And the clashing of steel shall ever accompany you.
“The pitch-black memory of stepping into uttermost darkness,
“Shall, at last, become the strength by which you overturn this world.”
And also how Pulcinella says he is the eye of discord.
Idk but I feel like Skirk might’ve come from Khaenri’ah which wouldn’t shock me as the title Foul Legacy reminds me of when Dain said that the people of Khaenri’ah liked to give names to their weapons.
On the topic of Dainsleif, you know how Lumine says he was called the Twilight Sword? Well, here’s what I found out about the Twilight Sword:
“The Twilight Sword is the mighty, flaming sword wielded by the fire jotun and Ruler of Muspelheim, Surtr. The sword was forged for one purpose alone and that is to burn down the realm of Asgard and set the cosmos ablaze during Ragnarök.
The Twilight Sword is quite possibly the most powerful weapon in Norse mythology, surpassing even the destructive might of Mjölnir itself. It has been mentioned within the Prose Edda as a flaming sword that Surtr wields as he wages war and "defeats all the gods and burn the whole world with fire." The sword is described as being "very fine" and that light will shine from it more brightly than from the sun.
It is so powerful that Odin describes it as a weapon of legend, going so far as to say that even he would not be able to repel its tremendous destructive power, and it is capable of destroying Asgard with a single tremendous blow and with one mighty fling of his blade will engulf the heavens and the Earth with fire.”
So either Dain was called that because he is a strong fighter or because he himself is a powerful weapon (akin to Foul Legacy being a weapon or Kaeya being a sleeper for Khaenri’ah)
ALSO, you know when you go into domains then you go to the tree to collect your rewards? Well behind the tree is a massive sort of wall mural behind it. One the mural there are some very significant things:
      1. The broken triquetra, a triquetra represents the triple goddess and so for one to be broken, it sort of reminds me of the three moon goddesses in Genshin. Yes, they all died but only two crumbled, the third one stayed in the sky. The single broken section could possibly represent the body left in the sky.
Also, the triquetra represents the passage of time, past - present - future. So for the God of Time to have been killed in the abyss/Khaenri’ah, it would not surprise me that in turn the passage of time there haven being broken, the symbol for the passage of time is broken as well.
The term triquetra in archaeology is used of any figure consisting of three arcs, including a pinwheel design of the type of the triskeles. Such symbols become frequent from about the 4th century BC ornamented ceramics of Anatolia and Persia, and it appears on early Lycian coins.
Also, the triquetra is on each Mora coin and in the Golden House.
      2. The triskelion. The triple spiral symbol, or three spiral volute, appears in many early cultures, the first in Malta (4400-3600 BC) and in the astronomical calendar at the famous megalithic tomb of Newgrange in Ireland built around 3200 BC as well as on Mycenaean vessels.
The Neolithic era symbol of three conjoined spirals may have had triple significance similar to the imagery that lies behind the triskelion. It is carved into the rock of a stone lozenge near the main entrance of the prehistoric Newgrange monument in County Meath, Ireland. Newgrange, which was built around 3200 BC.
It means life - death - rebirth or body - mind - spirit.
I can’t help but imagining it all as abyss - surface - heaven or something.
There are a lot of celtic/Nordic designs on the walls and clothing of characters like Dainsleif, Abyss Herald, Foul Legacy.
Your situation of the ghost hunter in the pub sounds absolutely wild! It’s really nice seeing someone else from the UK as well, I really nerfed myself by joining the Europe server as English speakers (for me at least) are far and few between lol.
I love watching your videos and finding out new theories I have never though of before as well!!

@@oikawasthottiestpotato8106 Yeah it was so good wasn't it, I think I'm the most excited for a patch to drop than I've ever been, especially with Inazuma looking like it isn't too far away.
I wonder if Haishan was one of these creatures then as it fits the description pretty well, that's such an interesting find that I'm kinda blown away haha. We know that Azhdaha is buried under a tree too which seems to be a seal of some sorts so the link of burying under the soil really seems to fit. I think you've got a bit of a goldmine with your copy of the Shahnameh because all of this is making a lot of sense to me and it really seems like Mihoyo have taken a lot of inspiration from it. Alcaraz sounds a hell of a lot like Khaenri'ah and Duzakh seems like an inspiration for the abyss, especially with Childe's dialogue about the beast.
Skirk 100% seems to be from there and I hadn't made the connection between Dain saying they name their weapons and the Foul Legacy but I agree that it adds up. Wait wait wait this is too perfect haha, in the Legend of the Shattered Halberd they talk about a sword of that exact description wielded by Mir Mi (reference to Mimir I think) and it was the strongest of the swords that burned the world away once before, they use the name Lævateinn which is a different sword in Norse mythology though I think. That would be so interesting if Dain represented that sword.
Those are fascinating, I'd noticed the broken triquetra which to me seemed to be a sign of defiance but it representing the moon goddesses or time being fractured could very well be the case. I've read a bit on that and the triskelion too but didn't know it originated in Malta, have you ever visited any of these ruins? I'd love to go but I think a lot of the world is still under lockdown for a while.
Haha the ghost hunter was a great night, he had night vision goggles and the pub is from I think the 1300s so it's really small, everyone in there tried the goggles and were sharing ghost stories 'til about 2am. I'm mostly a solo player so I hadn't noticed that but feel free to add me if you ever need a hand with anything! I'm on ps5 though so my typing speed will probably be as useful as speaking another language haha. I love reading your comments! That was like a lore video in itself and was so informative and enjoyable to read, I love finding out mysterious things in our history.

@@TheLaughingManLore yo! Sorry its taken me so long to reply, studying really said “no imagination” then left lol!
There is so so so much to unpack from the legend of the shattered halberd! Let’s start in order from both the wiki and the novels!
      1. Axis Mundi: In astronomy, axis mundi is the Latin term for the axis of Earth between the celestial poles. In a geocentric coordinate system, this is the axis of rotation of the celestial sphere. If you look at the pictures of the Axis Mundi on the internet, there is one specific map that looks a whole lot like a triquerta!
      2. God King: God king, or God-King, is a term for a deified ruler or a pagan deity that is venerated in the guise of a king but it is mostly used in referred to Egyptian Pharos and any other kings from polytheistic religions
      3. Ominous swords turning its users into demons? Sounds like Maramusa!: The katana forged by famous swordsmith Muramasa, it was rumored that it was a demonic sword that can curse the wielder to murder people (yh it was in Gintama lol)
      4. Mir Mi: Mímir or Mim is a figure in Norse mythology, renowned for his knowledge and wisdom, who is beheaded during the Æsir-Vanir War. Afterward, the god Odin carries around Mímir's head and it recites secret knowledge and counsel to him.
      5. Eye sacrifice: god I am so dumb how did i not see this connection before??? He sacrificed his eye in Mimir's well and he threw himself on his spear Gungnir in a kind of symbolic, ritual suicide but he gained a more sacred, divine level of wisdom in return! I would not be shocked if this is some sort of ritual, hence Kaeya having his right eye missing (It isn’t said which specific one Odin lost but still)
      6. Khan: a title given to rulers and officials in central Asia, Afghanistan, and certain other Muslim countries.
      7. Asura: They are described as power-seeking clans related to the more benevolent Devas in Hinduism. In its Buddhist context, the word is sometimes translated "titan, "demigod", or "antigod". According to Hindu scriptures, the asuras battle constantly with the devas. Asuras are described in Indian texts as powerful superhuman demigods with good or bad qualities. In early Vedic literature, the good Asuras are called Adityas and are led by Varuna, while the malevolent ones are called Danavas and are led by Vritra. In the earliest layer of Vedic texts Agni, Indra and other gods are also called Asuras, in the sense of their being "lords" of their respective domains, knowledge and abilities. In later Vedic and post-Vedic texts, the benevolent gods are called Devas, while malevolent Asuras compete against these Devas and are considered "enemy of the gods". Asuras are part of Indian mythology along with Devas, Yakshas and Rakshasas. Asuras feature in many cosmological theories in Buddhism and Hinduism.
8: Jotunheim: In Norse cosmology, Jötunheimr is a location associated with the Jötnar, entities in Norse mythology, which are often translated as "giants". From Jötunheimr, the jötnar menace the humans in Midgard and the gods in Asgard. The river Ífingr separates Asgard, the realm of the gods, from Jötunheimr, the land of giants. Gastropnir, the protection wall for the home of Menglad, and Þrymheimr, home of Þjazi, were both located in Jötunheimr, which was ruled by King Þrymr. Glæsisvellir was a location in Jötunheimr, where lived the giant Gudmund, father of Höfund. Utgard was a stronghold surrounding the land of the giants, but in Nordic languages, “Jötunheimr” is also simply a name for the realm of giants.
Also, Mímir was a jötunn so there is that!!!
      9. Contra Mundi: roughly means “against the world”
      10. Dharani: Dharanis also known as a Parittas, are Buddhist chants, mnemonic codes, incantations, or recitations, usually the mantras consisting of Sanskrit or Pali phrases. The word dhāraṇī derives from a Sanskrit root √dhṛ meaning "to hold or maintain"
      11. The line “even a Buddha or an adeptus”: Adeptus means a person who has attained knowledge of the secrets of alchemy, magic, and the occult, (now especially) an initiate into the secrets of a particular hermetic order or occult organization.
      12. “The first Divine Halberd, Irmin, once pierced the Axis Mundi and connected the nine worlds. Now, its replicas had proliferated across the heavens.” irmin?? Like Irminsul????
      13. “Fearing the madness that would ensue following his death, the God King made one final Divine Halberd, and named it the Prinzessin der Verurteilung. In this moment, it - nay, she - could finally unleash her true self”: Fischl- honestly the whole book on the Prinzessin der Verurteilung is really sus as well
      14. In Norse mythology, Lævateinn is a weapon crafted by Loki mentioned in the Poetic Edda poem Fjölsvinnsmál

@@oikawasthottiestpotato8106 Haha no problem, studies take priority over youtube comments! I've always loved reading about this stuff and funnily enough I've come across a few of these things when making videos for the LotSH and Xiao, especially the Norse and Hindu inspirations. Ahh not Muramasa though! I knew I was forgetting something the cursed weapons reminded me of. It definitely seems to be based on that, I looked for any old real world stories of cursed weapons made from meteorites but couldn't find any unfortunately, Muramasa's a classic cursed sword story inspiration though. Gintama is a masterpiece haha (lol), I think it's made me laugh more than any other show I've watched (lol)(I hope you get the reference or this looks weird).
I read an interview with the staff who created Xiao (genshin.mihoyo.com/en/news/detail/8642 good read btw) and I think the adeptus title might be more to do with them being like the Daoist immortals but I hadn't even thought about the adept titles in things like Hermeticism which seems to have links with the deeper lore of the gods and abyss so I'll look into that.
That part with Irmin just made me think this has to be at least loosely based on something real in the Genshin world happening, it's too close. With how we're getting the Irminsul fruits in the new event now too, I think we're going to get some big hints behind what it actually is or does. Them exploding and the data fragments looking like some technological data cubes is strange enough. The power from the fruits is blue just like Dain's arm and the mutated stones are the same red as the Sustainer's powers (who I think is most likely the Prinzessin). In the new event, the domain we go into is suspended in a place surrounded by enormous tree branches too which we've seen before but I noticed a blue fruit/flower on one of the lower branches which could mean we are were within the Irminsul tree at the time. I wonder whether Dain is a sort of vessel for the Irminsul now the same way Weiyang was for the Prinzessin.

As no no has said, Khaenri'ah were built specifically without an archon so I'd imagine if the god of time was killed there, it was more like they were visiting for some reason. Pure speculation but perhaps they could foretell certain future events and warned Khaenri'ah that they would be destroyed but Khaenri'ah took that as a threat and killed the god. Your theory about the God of Time being killed in Khaenri'ah coincides with a recent theory on the Honkai's side of the community.
There is an enemy named Husk - Nihilius added to the game with peculiar powers of altering space, freezing time and even reversing time locally. This being arrived in the Honkaiverse through an Imaginary Gate (a rift that is capable of linking real space and various multiverses together).
This enemy was identified as a *higher being* created by the *alien world*.
It's appearance is very mechanical, yet it's movements are fluid.
Husk - Nihilius's chinese name is translatable as "Imaginary Tree Diety Corpse - Nihilism" giving much insight into it's nature. It is a dead god that was killed for attempting to oppose it's creator, the Imaginary Tree, the multiverse itself. His "husk" was subsequently reanimated as a servant and guardian of the Imaginary Tree.
Husk - Nihilius bears a distinct pink glowing cross etched in it's chest cavity. It is presumed this cross is the means by which the Imaginary Tree controls the dead god's corpse.
It is also possible that the cross piercing it's body is ultimately what killed this god of time. It's right side of the face (the side closest to the cross's arms) is broken with one of the god's 4 eyes missing on that same side.
Husk - Nihilius is noted to not have been killed by the Herrscher of Thunder, Raiden Mei, in their altercation, choosing to instead flee away as it could not surpass her in combat.
Here's some refference images for Husk's powers in action.

That is fascinating, I wonder if these Imaginary Gates are similar to the Spiral Abyss or original Irminsul and how they are thought to be able to access other realms.
The description of Husk - Nihilius and what I can see from those gifs doesn't look like the typical gods of Teyvat so I wonder if it was a secret creation of Gold's through his experiments. The name Nihilius could point towards it being a sort of anti-god type being too which might tie-in with that idea, though it's admittedly just something I thought of as I read your comment.
If we're getting into darker speculation, Gold could've even somehow used the original god of time and transformed them through his experiments into this Husk being and the great Irminsul - thought to link other worlds, could've taken control of it as it may be opposed to Celestia. Celestia dropping the Skyfrost Nail to shatter a massive Irminsul tree at Dragonspine mountain and the two Chinese servers being named "Celestia" and "Irminsul" respectively make me think that the two are opposing forces.
I've never played Honkai and only read some of the manga so far so I'm probably missing a few other similarities or possible connections but this is something I'll look into more. Thanks for the interesting comment TCL Cosmin!

This is quite a long theory on Alchemy and Kaeya so it's separated by 2 parts, here and in the replies:
People mostly think about alchemy as turning something into gold, but this is one of the secondary goals rather than primary. Of course, there were alchemists that practiced alchemy for this specific purpose...
Originally, the goal is to explore the materials in the world and understand the principle of this world (similar to how people want to reach enlightenment in Gnosticism).
In order to reach that goal, the alchemists required the famous "Philosopher's Stone".
Philosopher's stone is a stone that can turn any material into something you want. In short, it is something absolute that contains the principle of the world.
The process of making this stone is called the "Magnum Opus".
The magnum opus is largely divided into 4 steps (although it may differ depending on the school of thought):
Nigredo ("Blackness") → Albedo ("Whiteness") → Citrinitas ("Yellowness") → Rubedo ("Redness") (Sometimes, Viriditas ("Greenness") is added between citrinitas and rubedo)
In Genshin, the order slightly differs in that 3rd stage is rubedo and 4th stage is citrinitas as explained by Albedo's ascension voicelines.
Anyways, the background knowledge on alchemy is more than enough with this.
In Art of Khemia, it is stated "3rd stage rubedo = refining of feeling and emotions", and "4th stage citrinitas = finding the meaning of existence".
But these steps are about the created being refining emotions and finding the purpose of its existence on its own, so it doesn't seem like there is a special technique required for it.
So the parts where technique actually matters are the 1st step nigredo and 2nd step albedo.

Now let's look at the meaning of nigredo and albedo.
1st step nigredo literally means black soil in Art of Khemia
In Art of Khemia, it is stated "3rd stage rubedo = refining of feeling and emotions", and "4th stage citrinitas = finding the meaning of existence".
But these steps are about the created being refining emotions and finding the purpose of its existence on its own, so it doesn't seem like there is a special technique required for it.
So the parts where technique actually matters are the 1st step nigredo and 2nd step albedo.

Now let's look at the meaning of nigredo and albedo.
1st step nigredo literally means black soil in Art of Khemia
In the description of the video of Albedo's demo, it is written,
"Soil - the origin of alchemy, the basis of all life"
The black soil being the origin of life is because the term 'Alchemy' is derived from the Arabic 'Al-kimiya', which means "black soil".
And black soil being the basis of all life means that this black soil is the primordial form of all life (this is mentioned in Albedo's Intro Ascension voiceline).
In essence, if you can make something out of this black soil, you can change that something into some other thing (If you make a human 'A' out of black soil and create human 'B').
In real world alchemy, nigredo is the process of converting material into blackness with infinite potential so Genshin seems to have taken that exact same setting into the game.
    2nd step albedo means chalk.
In the description of the video of Albedo's demo, it is written,
"Chalk - the blank canvas, on which to paint life..."
In the story of Genshin, chalk is defined as base of human life and the start of change.
The white chalk is what you get after cleansing the black soil.
In short, adding something to the black soil gives you chalk, and with this white chalk you can make humans out of it.
"The universe is the dark essence of the true starry sky, and the earth is the accumulated memories of time and lives. The chalk: that is you. The earth is where alchemy gets its name, and is the basis of all life. And this..."
-Rhinedottir (Albedo's master) to Albedo in Albedo's character story 3
Rhinedottir blatantly tells Albedo that "you are the chalk" in his story.
Also considering that in the freeze frame of Albedo's character demo states that "From Soil Was Birthed Chalk" as well as his alias 'Kreideprinz' meaning "Chalk Prince" in German, Albedo is definitely a artificial human created by the Art of Khemia.
Now naturally the question arises: What do we do to the black soil to change it to chalk? This is answered later in this post where it talks about Kaeya.
The main focus of this comment is that Kaeya possesses something important between nigredo (black soil) and albedo (chalk).

Anyway in conclusion, Khaenri'ah's creation of human through the Art of Khemia can be summarized by the following:
Some process is applied to a material (will be defined later in this comment but ashes of something burned is a prime example of a material in the Art of Khemia) to change it into black soil - Nigredo
Some process is applied to black soil to change it to chalk - Albedo (process)
    Created human with chalk
Refined the emotions and feelings to stabilize it - Rubedo
The human finds its purpose of existence - Citrinitas
Through the process above and creating a human being with rational thought and emotions is the magnum opus of the Art of Khemia of Khaenri'ah.
Now do not confuse the steps above with the steps of Art of Khemia. The steps above are the steps of magnum opus. If you look at Albedo's trailer with Sucrose where he creates crystalfly and vishap through painting. This is possible without the rigorous process described above because this is not a magnum opus.
If you are merely creating simple creatures with the Art of Khemia, the process above is NOT required.
Keep this in mind as you read the rest.
Let's learn more about nigredo of Art of Khemia.
As stated above, nigredo is the step in which a certain process is applied to a material to change it into black soil.
A prominent example of something that can be turned into black soil is ash.
Albedo (character) says that ash is the most basic form of complex life.
In the character trailer, Albedo uses ash to paint and create things like crystalflies.
This is in line with real world alchemy, as the process that the alchemists thought to be most important was nigredo and nigredo consisted of burning different metals and materials.
Whatever's leftover after being burnt was the most fundamental ingredient, and with this ash, anything could be created from it.

However, just because you have the materials needed does not mean it can do everything.
A simple creature can be created by just sketching it out with a piece of coal.
But to create the magnum opus, a human being, this is not enough.
The material (for example, ash) needs to go through a certain process and be made into black soil in order to go to the next phase, albedo.
Now what is this 'certain process' required to change make black soil?
We need the essence of the black soil which is the origin of blackness: the power of the universe.
You're probably now asking "Where in the flying donkey balls did the universe come from?", but the 'power of the universe' in this context is the power of darkness.
"Universe, the sable essence of the starry void."
-Albedo, Character Demo - "Albedo: Contemplation in Chalk"
Albedo himself describes universe as the essence of the void (darkness), and in the lore of the festering desire, and Durin is described to be wandering the "universal darkness".
Durin probably wasn't made by whipping up a questionable sketch within a minute like Albedo did to a certain vishap.
Considering that Durin was said to be born corrupted by darkness, Art of Khemia's magnum opus most likely has power of darkness involved within the nigredo phase.
One may simply think that Durin may be corrupted by this darkness due to wandering in the darkness before coming to Teyvat, but
Durin was created by Rhinedottir, meaning that Durin wasn't originally from the darkness, but rather created through it.
The most important piece of the clue is Khaenri'ah's former dynasty's name, Black Sun.
During the fall of Khaenri'ah, many beasts corrupted by darkness was born, and this was during the rule of the Black Sun dynasty.
But Black Sun (Sol Niger) is an image that symbolizes the 1st step of the magnum opus in alchemy, nigredo

    • @genshinaddict8328
      @genshinaddict8328 3 года назад +4

This means that Khenri'ah didn't get darkness involved on a whim just to fight Celestia.
Everyone, from royals to the alchemists, systematically planned out to use the power of darkness in the process of nigredo.
I also think the reason why Khaenri'ah's dynasty is named Black Sun is because of the fact that people of Khaenri'ah worshipped the power of darkness used in nigredo.
In short, the focus of nigredo is to corrupt a material with traces of life, changing it into black soil.
      This raises yet another question:
If Art of Khemia is followed through properly, the dragon Durin shouldn't have been corrupted by the darkness and should be normal like Albedo (character) after being cleansed by albedo (process).
Then why has Durin descended on Teyvat corrupted by the darkness?
Why is Albedo not corrupted in darkness after being created by the Art of Khemia?
      There are 2 possibilities:
Albedo (character) is also not entirely cleansed.
Albedo (character) is a case where cleansing succeeded by chance and Khaenri'ah's alchemists did not know exactly what caused it.
I think that it is the latter; Khaenri'ah probably did not have the means to completely transition into the second phase of albedo (process).
In order to create a complex life, you need a clean chalk cleansed by albedo (process), but Khaenri'ah used black soil that was not entirely purified when creating Durin.
The reason why I think this is the case is because of Kaeya.
The name of the dwarf king that appears in a Middle High German epic poem Nibelungenlied is Alberich as well and Kaeya's first constellation is named "Excellent Blood", hinting his lineage.
Now let's look into the connection between Kaeya and alchemy.
As shown by Mona's opinion on Kaeya, his constellation is Pavo Ocellus, meaning "Peakcock's Eye" (In Korean translation, his constellation is named Peacock's Feather).
Interestingly enough, this ties into alchemy.
During the creation on philosopher's stone, there is a 1.5th step between the 1st step nigredo and 2nd step albedo called Peacock stage or Peacock's Tail stage.
the 1.5th step of magnum opus is most famously a peacock in a vase.
The reason why peacock represent the step between nigredo and albedo is because peacock's feather includes black (nigredo), white (albedo), red (rubedo), yellow (citrinitas), and green (viriditas).
Peacock's feather represents all materials (different colors) emerging from the origin (black) to begin manifest itself.
The process in which it gathers all these colors to cleanse it is the albedo (process).
Therefore alchemists represented this step between nigredo and albedo (process) with a peacock feather.
Let's add another piece of the lore into the mix.
There is an epic based on Norse mythology named Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung).
In this epic there is a dwarven king named Alberich, as mentioned above in this section.
Incidentally, the name Rhinedottir also appears in the epic.
Translator's Note: Technically, Rheintöchter are the characters that appear in the epic. However, in Korean, Rheintöchter and Rhinedottir are spelled the same way. Rhinedottir in English also sounds similar to Rheintöchter in German.
Rheintöchter means daughters of the Rhine (Rhine is a river in Germany).
The story of The Ring of the Nibelung starts out with Alberich stealing the gold of Rhine guarded by the Daughters of the Rhine.
Let's look at Genshin's story with this information.
Alberich (Kaeya) steals the gold guarded by the Daughters of the Rhine (Rhinedottir) + Kaeya's constellation Pavo Ocellus symbolizes the phase between nigredo and albedo = Kaeya left Khaenri'ah with an important clue that can help alchemists transition over from nigredo to albedo (process) in the Art of Khemia.
The reason Khaenri'ah created beasts corrupted by darkness was because the technique to cleanse the black soil tainted by the darkness was incomplete.
What process does black soil require to change into chalk?
The answer most likely lies with Kaeya.
The key to transitioning from nigredo to albedo, the key to the 1.5th step (Peacock's Tail) lies in Kaeya's hands.
If it goes along with the story of The Ring of the Nibelung, this means that Kaeya (Alberich) stole this technique, but since Kaeya is a royal descendant of Khaenri'ah this may be unlikely.
miHoYo doesn't need to copy the storyline of the epic word by word, so Kaeya probably didn't steal the technique and rather inherited it and escaped.
Alchemists gave this incomplete technique to the royal heir Kaeya during the fall of Khaenri'ah in order to pass the Art of Khemia onto his own offspring.
Khaenri'ah was unable to completely cleanse the black soil and eventually fell, but left the possibility for Kaeya, the last survivor and the royal of Khaenri'ah, to complete the Art of Khemia.
Kaeya's father tells Kaeya that he is their last hope. This actually might mean that instead of Kaeya being the last of the royals, it may mean Kaeya is the last hope because of the key to the Art of Khemia he holds.
      + Last Tidbit
In Albedo's character story 4, it says as Rhinedottir sent Albedo to Mondstadt, she gave Albedo the last extant manuscripts of Magnum Opus and gave him his last assignment:
"Your final assignment: show me the truth and the meaning of this world."
Albedo says that he does not know what is meant by this, but judging from the fact that Rhinedottir even gave Albedo the last manuscript of the Magnum Opus, she probably means for Albedo to travel to Mondstadt and meet Kaeya to complete the Magnum Opus of the Art of Khemia as a part of his assignment.
      Thanks!

I've been into reading about alchemy and stuff for years so always appreciate discussions on it, especially if it helps us understand the Genshin story a little better. I peppered in a lot of the alchemy stuff in my Albedo and Kaeya videos as they're the two most associated with it that I've made videos on so they might be interesting to you if you have time. To answer the question of what's in between nigredo and albedo - it could be the peacock stage or cauda pavonis, which is iridescent like oil and represents something on the precipice of good/progress (albedo) or bad/stagnation (staying at the first stage). The magnum opus' goal has been said to be immortality in some cases too which seems to be something quite a few people have mastered in Teyvat already. I hadn't thought about the Black Sun dynasty being associated with nigredo though, that's something I'll have to think about.
Them worshipping the darkness or first stage is quite an interesting idea, I wonder if this was something that gradually happened over time or whether they started out that way. I'd guess it was gradual as the Art of Khemia likely wouldn't grow anything for them to eat if they corrupted everything to start with.
In my mind, Albedo was created long after Khaenri'ah fell by Rhinedottir as she needed an assistant for her research and exploration purposes and a corrupted being wouldn't be as reliable. She's likely already mastered both stages and if I had to guess, I'd say she's likely mastered the next stage which is Rubedo in Genshin as you mentioned. Not sure if anyone has reached the final stage without it destroying them though as Gold seemed to be going for it but we haven't heard of them since the fall.
That's pretty interesting, if Rhinedottir wasn't in communication with Kaeya's father then he wouldn't know of Albedo and his skills with Khemia and could see Kaeya as the one to preserve the skill as nobody in Teyvat seems to have heard of it really.
I saw her giving Albedo that manuscript as her silently stating that she has mastered it now and has no need for it due to her finding the Heart of Naberius (who might be the Bloodstained Knight resurrected as a god of the Abyss but that's a whole other theory lmao) but I really like the way the story would flow if Kaeya was involved in Albedo's quest to find the truth of the world.
Thanks for the well thought out comment Genshin Addict, was a great read and opened my mind up to some other possibilities I hadn't considered.

The mystery surrounding the prior God of Dendro's death is one of the puzzles I'm looking forward to seeing unravelled the most given it happens around the Khaenri'ah destruction. Given Gods, like with Havria, have a blowback of whatever their element is upon dying, my pet theory is the Mare Jivari is the site and result of what happened after the dendro archon's death. And if the dendro archon was being diplomatic or sympathetic with Khaenri'ah and Celestia just happened to assassinate the dendro archon while they were present in Khaenri'ah with the archon's dominion over 'life', well, it's my favourite completely unsubstantiated theory on the inciting incident that lead to Khaenri'ah's destruction

I wonder, we are capable of reasoning with the elements and what I suspect to be light (both siblings have it at the introduction). If Dainsleif ever becomes a playable character, his power will likely be related to darkness/corruption, what if we could resonate with that power too?
That's just an idea I couldn't stop thinking about, of course.

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  3 года назад

Yeah that seems to be the case with the siblings being angelic at the beginning and the colour white where the usual element colour appears on their clothing. I'd like to think our Traveler could resonate with every power, but Dain's, the Sustainer's and the Abyss' seem different somehow so they might be specific to them. I wonder what the colours of those three represent though as I feel like they're from the same source. I've read that in Chinese culture, the colour blue can represent wood and so I linked it as being related to the Irminsul tree but that's not the most compelling connection, I'll admit.

Khaen'riah is making me feel Arknights 2.0 vibes at this rate at how dark it sounds. Abyssal corruption is a parallel to Oripathy, Abyssal energy is a parallel to Origenium, as it slowly kills people near sources and powers most technology, and the abyssal corruption has given powers shown like Dainsleif's telekinesis and super-speed, which is similar to the Origenium arts. Can't wait to see how Khaen'riah is presented. I hope it's at the point where the technological advancement places it 100-150 years after Arknights technology, with things like energy-powered firearms and other amazing technological advancements.

Dainsleif if i'm not mistaken is the archon of Khaenri'ah and from many theories I see Paimon is an underling of the unknown god. So is this just a coincidence ? or is my head just imagining things xD

Just want to add a bit of speculation and my thoughts about Khaenri'ah. I've recently been reading about lore from another game called Arknights, specifically about two races that are parallels of angels and demons. Now that I'm reading Arknights lore more in-depth, Khaenri'ah does seem like the embodiment of angels and their fall, which is ironic considering that Khaenri'ah never had a god or a form of religion.
Some of this incorporates headcanon and speculation on lore, but it all seems to add up once piecing the bits together. After doing a little analysis, I realized "The Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies" is a retelling of the fall of Khaenri'ah. Within the story, it seems the Moonlit forest is Khaenri'ah, while the Land of the Night refers to the Abyss and the Night Mother refers to the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles. Specifically, the inhabitants of the Moonlit forest are described as beautiful people all with light hair, fair skin, and bright blue eyes. Khaenri'ans had already acquired the ability to create life itself through the specific field of Khemia and the country itself seemed to have been a utopia or parallel to angels and heaven from what we know so far.
Now elaborating a bit more on my reasoning, it has been established that the world was turned upside down due to Khaenri'ah's destruction. And what are the two sides of the same coin? Heaven and hell. Khaenri'ah's citizens had turned into the inhumane monsters of the Abyss, which Tartaglia's stories describe as a land of endless darkness that sounds pretty much like Genshin's version of hell. Since there are two sides to the same coin, I assume Khaenri'ah used to be the parallel of heaven, rather than Celestia which is a false heaven, before its fall
I really want to hear your thoughts on this. This incorporates a couple of small details and a mixture of headcanon and speculating. If the Moonlit forest is the parallel to Khaenri'ah itself, why exactly does Kaeya, who is a Khaenri'an, have completely different features than a Khaenri'an? He's described as looking exotic, has navy blue hair, and dark-blue eyes which are the complete opposite of what Khaenri'ans was described as. However, he still has the star-shaped pupils that Khaenri'ans have. Kaeya had been inserted into Mondstadt as a sleeper agent, possibly one who had been working as a higher-up within the Abyss order. Yet, why did Kaeya work for the Abyss Order which is comprised of monsters even though he is human? Is it because Kaeya's father could be the "King" figure of the Abyss Order? Could it be that Kaeya who had a very messed up childhood was subjected to actions that turned him into something like a "fallen angel", or does he have a monstrous heritage that he hides behind his eyepatch? I've mainly derived this theory from a Kaeya edit by DeadlyDahlia, which suits him as it makes him look much more sinister.
Now, about the destruction of Khaenri'ah and how it reinforces the theory that Khaenri'ah is a parallel of heaven. We already know that most of the gods/archons within Teyvat are named after a series of demons from the Ars Goetia. The archons and gods themselves could serve as parallels of demons within Teyvat itself, and that's not even considering the banished archons across the sea away from Teyvat. Archons and gods derive the majority of their power from the devotion of the people they rule over. Gods only became archons in the aftermath of the Archon war 2000 years ago if they loved humanity, yet only two out of the original seven archons that genuinely loved humanity and wanted to advance are alive. Khaenri'ah itself was a successful and highly technologically developed nation that thrived without gods, so the archons/Celestia could have seen this as a threat to their power, as people might stop worshipping gods after seeing Khaenri'ah's success, which led to the destruction of Khaenri'ah itself. I think Honkai itself played a role in Khaenri'ah's destruction, but the overarching reason was that Khaenri'ah was a flourishing nation that did not have gods.
Last but not least, a small detail that I believe sounds misleading. Dainsleif said that Khaenri'ans believed that the land was meant to be fought over with steel and blood, but I don't think it insinuates that Khaenri'ah was an aggressive/imperialistic society. I assume that Khaenri'ah believed what Dainsleif had said because the Khaenri'ah's residents already knew what happened to other civilizations that were destroyed by Celestia/Archons, so they decided to fight for their rights and land.

I love a good bit of speculation so I'm looking forward to reading this.
I came to the same conclusion as you on the Pale Princess story so maybe we're on to something. Have you read the Legend of the Shattered Halberd btw? It's worth a look as I think the Sustainer could be one of the main characters there as the goddess that possesses Weiyang's body and is collecting the cursed swords.
I'm interested in the angelic similarities you mention, I've not thought too in-depth on it but I feel as though Khaenri'ah might have a bloodline that is somehow connected with Celestia or if not them, then another power that might be from another realm due to a mention of there being a 13,000 year old bloodline in Fischl's character story that mentions the Prinzessin der Verurteilung (who may be the Sustainer as the goddess in LotSH is named that at the very end).
The Abyss does seem to be analogous to a Hell sort of place for sure, I've found a few similarities to it and the Hel of Norse myth too and there are probably others like Samsara and Hades but I haven't tried to make those connections yet. Hmm I like the idea but I think at the time of Khaenri'ah's creation that Celestia was already established as a ruling power due to them nurturing the people of Dragonspine and Khaenri'ah seemingly being built near the end of Sal Vindagnyr's destruction as the scribe mentions hearing of a new nation being built without gods.
Maybe we could replace Khaenri'ah in this instance with the Abyss though if we go back in time far enough. This is just a thought experiment but if the Irminsul was the original civilisation's "god" or thing they worshipped and Celestia appeared to conquer Teyvat, it would make sense that the last remnants of the first civilisation would retreat into the depths of the world where the Irminsul's roots are as a protective measure. Khaenri'ah could be the inheritors of the first civilisation's will and so the Abyss Heralds and Lectors going on about cleansing sin and stuff could be them viewing Celestia's rule as sinful against the original god/divine tree Irminsul.
Kaeya looking slightly different isn't something I'd thought of much but I suppose it could be explained by his mother being from another nation and falling in love with his father who seemed to have been the king of Khaenri'ah at the time.
I kind of hope his father isn't the king of the Abyss Order and it's more like a divine sort of being like a giant snake that can take human form but it is possible. I read a theory in the comments of one of my videos that his father could've been turning into a monster himself and that's why he had to leave Kaeya in Mondstadt, with the added bonus of him being a spy for them. The Abyss Mages/Heralds/Lectors seem to keep their minds enough to plot and communicate with others but maybe a kid would be freaked out by his dad turning into one, even in appearance only.
Kaeya being experimented on isn't something I'd ever thought about but that's a really interesting train of thought, especially when he's called their last hope. With how Khaenri'ah are speculated to have possibly killed gods and have possession of the Genesis Pearl, I wonder if they tried to create an angelic or god-like being themselves to oppose Celestia and Kaeya was possibly a test subject. (Why can I hear Treasure Hoarders in my head whenever I read "test subject" lmao) My guess is the curse that turned the people into monsters is manifesting behind that eyepatch but his royal bloodline or something like a exceptional willpower stave it off from spreading.
The Gnostic influences and things from Hermeticism definitely play a big role in the game so it could very well be like Celestia is ruled by a Demiurge being and uses the demons under him to prevent humans from attaining gnosis or knowledge to understand the truth of the world and ascend or become enlightened, becoming a threat to their rule. What idea do you have as to why there are only two of the original Seven left? In my head, it was probably the Abyss Order enacting vengeance, though I have a vague memory of something to do with the Hyrdo Archon and assassins from that pokemon sort of event we had. Maybe in other nations, the gods like Andrius and Osial didn't die or resurrected to defeat the Archons and the Archon Wars never really "ended" in that way.
100,000% - Dragonspine got nuked by the Skyfrost Nail for being arrogant and stepping into the garden of the gods, thinking themselves on the same level and the first civilisation where I bet Khaenri'ah and Snehznaya get a lot of their advanced technology from likely have records of their war with Celestia so this knowledge is likely why Khaenri'ah was built in the first place, without and away from the eyes of the gods.
Loved reading your comment and getting the ol' mind going. I'm half writing a script sort of on the subject while I'm waiting to record more as construction is going on outside most of the day recently. -_-

@@TheLaughingManLore Wow, huge lore dump that you've given me! Great work!
Anyways, the idea of Khaenri'an's being part of the bloodlines of Celestia or even another series of gods seem interesting, but I'm leaning to them being part of the bloodlines of another series of gods themselves.
Regarding Kaeya himself, I don't exactly think his mother was from a different nation. The remains of Khaenri'ah's population are only known to Dainsleif himself, so why would someone from a different nation meet up with Khaenri'ah's king, unless the Khaenri'an king laid out the encounter himself? Anyways, imo that seems a bit far-fetched, so I'm leaning into the theory that Kaeya has either been experimented on by the Abyss Order in order to create a demonic-being that would oppose Celestia itself.
Now that I think about it, I don't think the Abyss Order is necessarily bad per-se. I believe Celestia themselves are the main antagonists, and Khaenri'an's and members of the Abyss order just have different methods in dealing with Celestia. The Abyss Order is one primarily based on the eradication of humankind itself while the remains of Khaenri'ah's population might just be trying to rebuild and oppose Celestia in their own way.
About Kaeya's father being the "King" figure of the Abyss order, it seems really likely. Kaeya already seems to know about the Abyss Order's operations as well as their prince(ss)(!) when he/she is possibly one of the highest-ranking members of the Abyss Order. With Khaenri'ah's system of governance being a royal dynasty, along with the fact that the Abyss Mages/Lectors/Heralds still keeping their mind, I'd assume they'd still follow the royal dynasty system. But if Kaeya's father is the "King" figure, wouldn't Kaeya be the "Prince" during his time working as the Abyss Order? This could be explained by the fact that Kaeya could have been an illegitimate child, which prevented him from taking that position and allowing the Abyss Order to experiment on him without any consequences. Maybe the last hope refers to the fact that the Abyss Order has lost the Genesis Pearl, which could explain their recent aggression?
For the Genesis Pearl train of thought, I agree that Khaenri'ah themselves were trying to create an angelic/god-like being. In the Pale Flame set lore, a description about Pedrelino states that gods tore away a veil of sin. Combined with the fact that one of Dainsleif's lines in "We will be Reunited" is that he's trying to not repeat the sins of his forebearers, it sounds like they were trying to oppose Celestia. However, the line about Khaenri'ah being built away from gods makes this theory seem kind of sketchy as it sounds like Khaenri'ah just wanted nothing to do with gods.
About the willpower/royal blood that you referenced, it sounds promising. However, if we go back to the theory that you referenced about Kaeya's father turning into a monster, that theory itself becomes contradicted. I assume that maybe exposure to the Genesis Pearl (If Kaeya was ever experimented on?) could have resulted in the resistance to Abyssal Corruption itself.
I believe in Zhongli's story, it does say that all of the seven original archons have died since the Archon War, leaving only him and Venti as the remaining two archons. So yeah, that's all.

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  3 года назад

@@abhiramkapaganty380 Yeah that could easily be the answer too, I wonder what sort of civilisation the Seelies were or whether they had any sort of powers that might have caused Celestia to see them as a threat. Not saying they were like the gods but maybe they'd have information about things that happened far back in the past that could answer some of these questions.
His mother being from another nation is just a possibility but I'm wondering whether Khaenri'ah was as isolationist as they seemed, they could have had good relations with other nations a long time ago and married between the royalty of nations. Total speculation though. Kaeya being experimented on to become a demonic being is an interesting route to take for sure as human experimentation is something we've seen in the manga already so has some precedence.
It's hard to say who is good and bad when most choices seem to want to destroy the others with questionable methods haha. I don't think Celestia is good but the Abyss Order wanting to wipe out humanity is kinda bad too, even if them wanting to destroy Celestia is due to Celestia destroying their nation. But then if Celestia had a "greater good" type reason for doing it... eh, it gets confusing with how little we know so far.
That's a good point, with how we see Pedrelino's opinion not being respected by the higher-ups of Khaenri'ah they probably do respect the order they have in place and so would still follow it even after transforming into monsters. I could imagine Gold usurping the king somehow though which may have indirectly helped him escape with Kaeya before being cursed. It could explain why the king himself took Kaeya away from Khaenri'ah as opposed to sending one of his royal guards and would be interesting to see opposing factions within the remnants of the Khaenri'ahn people. The king could've even gotten away with the Genesis Pearl somehow... and that's what's behind Kaeya's eyepatch! lmao joking about that last part obviously. Again total speculation by me though, there's very little to really base any of it off apart from tropes within stories.
That's what my script was started from haha, the veil of sin seems to represent the sins of humanity that separate us from God so it seems to be sort of like original sin that was allowed into Teyvat, probably in the form of the Abyssal infection. It could be that they wanted to be hidden from the eyes of the gods for survival reasons but if they knew about Celestia destroying nations in the past, I'd imagine a lot of them would want revenge for humanities sake, especially if they got information from the ruins of the older civilisation in the Abyss.
Hahaha that is actually something I totally overlooked, how dumb of me. Maybe the willpower route is a better one then as Childe is able to control the Abyssal infection too from what it seems, even if he did get a head start with Skirk explaining things to him. I know I joked about the pearl being behind Kaeya's eyepatch but if it were able to be sort of placed within a person like a gnosis is with a god, that would be a pretty nice twist to explain the curse not manifesting in him.

I also assume the abyssal corruption doesn't affect all Khaen'rians. From the We Will be Reunited quest, it is already confirmed that only Khaen'riah's royalty turned into the Abyss order since Lumine says that Dainsleif, who was a Royal Guard, saw the people who he was supposed to protect turn into monsters. I assume that Khaen'riah's general populace couldn't turn into the Abyss Order, simply because their bodies could never handle Abyssal Corruption at higher levels than Khaen'riah's royalty can. I assume an average Khaen'rian's body would expire at a certain point, which is pretty dark.

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  3 года назад

I'm not sure it says specifically it was only the royalty that turned into monsters as I think Paimon just says "the people of Khaenri'ah" and I'd imagine that Dain was expected to protect the people of the nation and not just the royal family.
The amount of monsters in the Abyss Order would signify to me that there are a lot more of them than just the royal family too unless there were hundreds or more in the royal family. I think that the corruption changes those that aren't strong enough to resist it into monsters but those with royal blood or some other way to avoid or resist the curse were able to keep their human form as we see with Skirk, Rhinedottir and possibly Kaeya/Dainsleif.
Though I think that it's likely some of the royalty and the other royal guards turned into higher ranking Abyss Order members like the Abyss Herald, possibly through whatever being rules the Abyss Order above our twin offering them power at the cost of their humanity to take revenge against Celestia.

I assume the eyepatches/eye coverings are some sort of Khaen'riah royalty thing going on.
And about your point regarding the number of monsters in the Abyss Order, we never know. There was an abyss mage called Landrich who lived over 1000 years ago, so I assume Khaen'riah has a way to transform people willingly. I estimate there were around 40-thousand survivors from Khaen'riah (Assuming that it had a population size of 40 million), and they're evenly divided among people who support the Abyss and those who share Dainsleif's views. Maybe the people afflicted by the corruption who share the same views as the Abyss Order could be willingly transformed?

Then there's the obvious connections to Odin and his removing an eye for wisdom which could be an inspiration for the eyepatches.
Yeah I suppose we don't know the exact numbers and I think they do have a way of transforming people who want revenge against Celestia (or Mondstadt in Landrich's case). I think there is a sort of choice to be made as you've said, we see Collei in the manga is told to give in and let the serpent control her for power - I think the people of Khaenri'ah could've had a similar thing happen to them and those that chose revenge transformed into the Abyss Mages and such.

You know how the Tsaritsa hates Celestia? Some theorises that the reason why the Tsaritsa is collecting the Gnosis, is to go back against the Celestia (aka Tsaritsa hates Celestia). But what may the reason be? Some theorise that the Dendro Archon may be a dear and close friend and ally to the Tsaritsa, since the Tsaritsa is rumoured to be the God of Love, she loved all of humanity. When Celestia states that the archons were to destroy Khaenri’ah, some of the Archons may have disagreed and refuse to take part in doing so (this is before the actual destruction) and so Celestia (seen as the divine being) may have retaliated and perhaps forces some of the Archons’ hand. Which in this case, killed the Dendro Archon and swore an oath of secrecy. In Zhongli’s new story quest, when we ask about our sibling he hesitates and then later reveals he’s sworn to a contract to keep his silence and that the contract was signed before it all began which means there must’ve been some sort of conflict between Celestia and some of the Archons before the actual destruction. When he mentions ‘erosion’ it can refer to quite a lot of things. Venti, however, may keep his silence too but does say some clues but not a lot of it and if any of the Archons spoke about it, their nation may be destroyed for the price or something dirty such as, in Venti’s and Zhongli’s case, reviving deceased companions and controlling/corrupting them. Which must’ve been what happened to the Dendro Archon. The Dendro Archon died protecting their people and nation. The traveller may be merely have been the spectator of it all.
Oh! And, the Gnosis is an object that connects the Archons directly to Celestia, is it likely that the gods of Celestia used the gnosis to mind control/manipulate them?

I wondered where the things Dainsleif said in the Teyvat preview with the whole command him to step aside and to prove that we are worthier to save than Lumine. Like what Dain need to save her from? she has traveled all over Teyvat and many worlds, is it what he said before? don't directly confronts the gods but still don't trust them fully. Is there a punishment for it? maybe like his?
Why didn't the celestial gods just drop another frostnail? nothing is lost for them other than a pillar is gone or that sea of flame is more efficient?
I wonder if some khaenri'ahans survived the cataclysm and unlike the Abbys order just wondered around wanting a live to life if that's true will we meet more people like Kaeya without the revenge thing
unrelated but I just realized the archons at least venti and zhong li's Ideal is what they struggle/problem, with venti its freedom since the old Mondstadters wanted one and for Zhong li its contracts because he is more of a war god than a wise god that's Guizhong's thing

In my head canon it's that the being similar to Nidhogg the great serpent has corrupted her mind and is trapped underneath the Irminsul in the abyss that Dain is the Bough Keeper of. He guards it from escaping fully but it is still able to influence those of Teyvat so it's still a problem that Dain needs to deal with but isn't powerful enough to do so, so he waits for us to defeat him and prove we can end the evil serpent completely. Yeah in the Wings and Sword of Descension it mentions how the twins have been to many worlds and been followed by the star devouring darkness that destroys the worlds, not sure if it's Dain speaking in that lore though. It seems like he's had some bad experiences with the gods in the past when travelling with the other twin so I think he's just more cautious of getting close to them as they ultimately work for the enemy, no matter how friendly they seem. I'd guess that the gods punished Khaenri'ah for daring to oppose them so I think you're right there.
It might have to do with the cycles the world seems to go through, I think it goes ice > fire > water > lightning and maybe the other elements are somewhere in there too but they aren't in the game yet. So if they already did the "end the nation with ice" with the Skyfrost Nail, next up would be fire. Just a guess though really, maybe fire would be better as it was an underground nation so they chose that method.
I wouldn't be surprised by that actually and it could explain why Kaeya isn't 500 years old but has Khaenri'an ancestry.
That's a pretty interesting observation, we know they have freedom and wisdom respectively but struggle with these things due to many factors. Definitely something to think on.

Hmm maybe a heart? That reminded me of his Heart of the Abyss constellation or talent (can't remember which atm) but that's just a wild guess tbh.
Hahaha yeah as I was playing the quest it almost felt like Mihoyo was talking to us through Dainsleif like "the gods destroyed Khaenri'ah. We had no god and it didn't die" and all that stuff to correct all of us lore speculators!
It seems like we're getting a lot of information on them actually doesn't it, which is usually used in stories for the enemy before the big enemy so I'm not sure what route they're going to be taking with that. The obvious choice is Celestia next but I dunno, I feel like Mihoyo are gonna throw us a few curve balls and have something happen we just can't predict.
Oh my god haha, I'm sure everyone that was paying attention to the quest was side-eyeing Dain when he did that. Like there's no way he's going to be able to defeat the other twin and all the Abyss Heralds I'm guessing were on the other side of that portal so the robo-squid-god is basically confirmed. :\/

But then again, I do also believe that the Twins are the Traveler's sent out to find a new "Ark" for humanity ect... aaah i don't know--
A heart? Hmm an interesting thought to link that to the constellation's name!
Haha yeah xD it truely did feel like Dain was here confirming all of our thoughts and theories! It kinda gives me hopes/a good feeling that mihoyo is keeping a good eye on what the community speculates.
Whichhh also brings me to my next thought- perhaps they are bringing things earlier in to keep the momentum up, you know? If they actually want to run this game for 10 years, it's very likely that only a few "hardcore" fans will stay around for the entire time. So keeping us interested in the matter now is good for keeping the game alive. Buuut then again it raises the question of how things will countinue in the future........ and oh, they deffinetly will throw us some curve balls. Excited to see how things'll turn out!
It's random but I speculate that Inazuma and Sumeru will teach us more about Visions, while Fontaine as well as Natlan store some information on the gods and celestia. And ofc, Snezhnaya and Khaenri'ah will break down all of the lore and ...what was it called? "The last Flowerfield" or sth?- is the final conclusion. Probably nothing but I can't really think of what else it could signify other than what you'd mentioned. Kinda sad we didn't get anything from Kaeya in this latest archon quest but hopefully we'll get some more lore on him soon to explain that.
It seems like it doesn't it, with all the surveys and stuff they do I wouldn't be surprised if they had a good idea of what we're all speculating. I hope they don't do the ol' GoT and subvert our expectations with something completely nonsensical just to say the fans didn't predict it though. I doubt they will.
Yeah I don't think they expected the game to be even half as successful as it's become so I think you could be right that they're putting in more effort to keep the momentum up, Dain appearing seemed way too soon from what I was expecting but it was a welcome surprise. I bet with the amount of lore they've already got in-game that they'll have no troubles keeping the story going for as long as they want. I'd love a flashback type story arc where we could witness the Archon Wars and things like that which I think would be pretty easy for them to add in storywise as a lot of it is already fleshed out in the lore, just not animated/playable.
I like that idea, Inazuma has got to focus on Visions with what we know of it so far and Lisa seemed to learn a lot in Sumeru and also seems to have some information on Visions that we aren't aware of yet. Fontaine will be an interesting one with the Archon there said to not even try to judge the divine but judges everyone else. Makes me feel like she'll be killed off by Celestia for some reason, maybe just the poetic justice of the judge being judged.

One thing that a lot of theories regarding Khaenri'ah will hinder on is when exactly Visions were first issued. If they were around prior to the Cataclysm/Destruction of Khaenri'ah, that's one thing, but if they only came about AFTER the destruction of Khaenri'ah, that's another thing entirely.
It's been established that there have been hundreds of Gods and there have been previous Archons, and with Visions, there is now the belief that one can ascend to Godhood if they wield a Vision. However, that has stopped since the Cataclysm. The Archons have been stagnant, regardless of the fact that different people have ascended to Godhood, meaning something else is going on. Vennessa, for instance, didn't become a god, but instead became The Falcon Of The West, which is more like a... mythical creature, or an adeptus, rather than a God.
If anything, what we know about Visions seems to imply that they are monitoring devices, stabilizers, or perhaps even inhibitors that were put in place, likely by The Unknown God, to keep things stagnant, where she would remain on the top of the food chain. While I have heard the theories of The Unknown God being a type of Demiurge-like being, I find it far more intriguing if she herself was the God Of Time after the people had forgotten about her and stopped worshipping her. This would explain why her power was so great, despite supposedly being "unknown"; time is a fundamental part of the world, and everyone's life is based off of it, so she doesn't need worship in the traditional sense the other Archons do. All she needs is people that appreciate watching sunrises, or sunsets, and she can gain power from them (which would also give reasoning behind the suspected artificial day/night cycle in Teyvat).

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  3 года назад

The Visions being issued thing is an interesting one. It's hard to tell when exactly they began appearing/being given to people but if I had to guess, it'd be after the Archon Wars and the nations were established. Maybe the wars were even started to find the perfect catalysts in the gods that became the victors to distribute the power that Celestia seems to hold.
Yeah the whole ascending to godhood thing never sat right with me tbh, I can see that being a myth that Celestia allow to propagate to ease people's fears. We do hear of that one Mondstadt man who is scared of disappearing due to his Vision in the Heart's Desire books hundreds of years ago so maybe in the past the whole ascending to godhood thing wasn't known. I don't think Celestia would ever allow anyone to ascend in power like that though, I'd guess that the truth is that the Vision holder's "power" or life-force is taken to keep Celestia stable. I do like the idea of them changing things due to the Cataclysm though.
That'd be pretty interesting if the Sustainer was the God of Time and would add up in a few ways pretty nicely. If she was and she was the one to "curse" Khaenri'ah then it could even explain why time there and/or the Abyss flows differently than the rest of Teyvat. Ei's Eternity would also be the closest to the Heavenly Principles as she says too if that's the case. Very interesting stuff to think on.

When Khaenri'ah was destroyed 500 years ago did it somehow have an effect in the world of Teyvat and gave way to creating magic/ley lines or was a magic system already planted in Teyvat beforehand?
I would like to think that Venti knows about Kaeya heritage but doesn't say anything about it b/c maybe he has survivor's guilt with having a hand in the destruction of his homeland, but then again we don’t have the entire story yet as to why they did it - perhaps forced, maybe they didn’t have a choice or did it to be kept in favor with celestia?
How does celestia's hierarchy work and who's stationed at the top of the chain, because ever since our brief run in with the unknown God since the start of the game it has me question how much authority she has in Celestia or beyond that. Along with the fact that when an archon dies, who in celestia picks at random to take on the new role of the past archons?
Another thing is the whole ordeal with the Irminsul trees that's stationed within every domain that we come across when we have to farm for artifacts/talent-book materials and the writings framed on the stone slab and the wall behind it. What does it mean and what connection does it have with the Imaginary Tree of honkai?

It seems like it was already within Teyvat to begin with and the Abyss somehow infected it and caused the leyline disruptions.
Yeah with how the Archons have seemingly omnipresent abilities I wouldn't be surprised if Venti knew of Kaeya even if he didn't see him during Khaenri'ah's fall. Celestia do seem to have almost forced the Archons to do their bidding but I wonder whether the Archons are under the threat of "we'll destroy your whole nation" or if they know something (gnosis) that we don't that causes them to carry out Celestia's will for a higher purpose. I have a feeling it's something to the effect of preventing the Abyss from consuming the whole of Teyvat and destroying nations linked with the Abyss is like pruning a plant for its health.
I want to know that too! It seems like there are some sort of priest-like beings there as we see in the manga but I have a feeling the Sustainer is either in the top 3 of the hierarchy or is their ultimate weapon. I wonder who picks the archons in Celestia - the answer was pretty easy during the Archon Wars as it was just the winners but afterwards it's hard to say. Maybe it's a vote and they pick the being most in-line with the ideals of the element (or the most powerful).
Could be that the Irminsul is like a less cosmic version of the Imaginary Tree in the way Vision users are to Archons.
I know half of these questions were rhetorical but couldn't help but speculate a little haha.

it could have been absorbed into a ley line tree.
then somebody might have found it and become the god of time
    i mean
    gnosis - heart of god
what rhinedottir has found in a ley line tree was the heart of neberius (aka some god or demon)
    sooooo
maybe after she gave albedo his last assignment she ascended to celestia as a god of time
and called herself the sustainer of heavenly principles
    what do you think

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  3 года назад

Very interesting theory! I think something along those lines could've happened but I'm not sure how the timeline lines up with the Sustainer exactly.
I think Rhinedottir found the Heart of Naberius fairly recently as Albedo was told to take care of Klee who isn't over 100 as far as I know and the Sustainer appeared 500 years ago during the fall of Khaenri'ah.
I think the heart could be the god of time's gnosis though and would be something massive enough for Rhinedottir to be excited over. I'm not sure if she'd ascend to Celestia though with her being a Khaenri'ahn. I'd expect her to turn herself into a new type of god or create a sort of machine god with what she discovered.

I don't think that time-dilation affects Khaen'riah itself. In one of Jean's dialogue from somewhere, it references that there used to be a king of Khaen'riah five-hundred years ago. If time-dilation affected Khaen'riah, then the fall of Khaen'riah should have theoretically taken place tens of thousands of years ago. I think the Abyss is affected by time-dilation, but not Khaen'riah.

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  3 года назад

Hmm I see what you mean but the time-dilation could have begun at the time of it's destruction which could explain it. Khaenri'ah seems to be at least in close proximity with the Abyss too with them being built underground so I'd think they'd be affected by it at least to some degree. Perhaps the destruction caused it to fall into the Abyss if it wasn't already within it and it would then be affected by it's time-dilation. Not married to my ideas though so I'm just looking forward to getting some more lore to confirm what happened.
