    Yes, happy Friday - feliz viernes. I looooove the food. I'm glad you guys show us the food at all the different places. I love tacos, anytime. I keep a comal (grill) from Mexico on my stove all the time. Many times I make quick tacos out of whatever I have, sometimes just cheese and salsa.

    Al pastor cooking came to mexico with the Spanish Conquistadors who brought over Moorish slaves who wold cook meats like shawarma style on rotisseries then also other settlers had Jordanian and syrian workers who did the same. there is also a thing in Mexico called Taco Arabe or Arab Taco that is served with hummus, tahini lamb, beef or chicken, veggies and yogurt dressing on flour tortilla its a great taco.

    In Zamora Michoacan all taqueros come out at night time, maybe after 6 pm... There is a taquero at almost every corner lol. I forgot to mention something. In Mexico we eat tacos all day long, but there are different types for each time of the day. For breakfast tacos mostly are with egg and beans,, for lunch the tacos al vapor and tacos de guisados, maybe liver and tripa tacos too, you can find a few taqueros with cabeza during lunch. After dark is when most of taqueros come out. Tacos al vapor or canasta are just amazing, you should try them sometime.

    I melted when I saw your Nannny and Grand nanny ❤️... that pie crust looked Nan quality! 👌🏽 No one can cook better than Nan’s. Thanks for sharing that. I loved it! Abt tacos and time of day: there are certain “trends” so in the morning and early lunch usually you go for tacos de canasta y tacos de guisado. At lunch, some people can eat tacos but in general, it is not usual cause going back to work after eating tacos may not be the best idea (sleepy and smelly haha). So the best time for tacos is at night... and most often is THE best choice after partying (2-3 am). And then the rule changes on weekends: barbacoa and carnitas can be eaten as a late breakfast (especially on hangover sundays) 🤪 But then, like all rules in Mexico, you can overlook them and the best time for a taco is when the tempting smell reaches you and you go for it haha.

    • @kinetickennons
      @kinetickennons  6 лет назад +1

      2-3 am?!? I don’t think we could stay up that late if we tried!!

    • @lauraguerra6450
      @lauraguerra6450 6 лет назад

      Kinetic Kennons lol, really? We need to take you out to party guys. But hey, let’s say a taco is best after drinks... there’s something abt being a bit tipsy and end the night with some tacos. A must have experience... even if it is at 8 pm haha.

    Very interesting! That was really clever to put the onions on the bottom of the swirling pork and the pineapple on the top for easy access when making a taco there. WOW! Note: Ceviche is very popular in Mexico, however it is Not an original Mexican meal, it is from Peru. It came into Mexico thru Acapulco because of the Galeón de Manila's route. Acapulco is where they mix it, cook it and serve it with the original Peruvian recipe.

    Ahhhhh!!! My favorite place. Well, yes, Turks, Lebanese and other middle eastern folks came and settled in Mexico City and Puebla and brought the spinner and shawarma concept to Mexico. Next time you go to Puebla try the Arab tacos/tacos arabes (with pita bread instead of corn tortillas) a legase of our middle eastern immigrants. ;-) enjoy! Ta-tah!

    Well, if you loved it in Vallarta, then you'll adore it in Acapulco, at the Country Club's Restaurant will be my recommendation. They serve the Original Ceviche Recipe (Peruvian).
    Picture this: For around 3 centuries (give or take) Acapulco was the Hub harbor of the Manila Galeón also known as The Nao de China. Those vessels back in the day served a maritime trade route that linked the coastal cities in the Americas at the Pacific Ocean with Asia using Manila (in the Philippines) as Asian Harbor.

    Lebanon immigrants came to Mexico in the Early 1900's Bringing their Shawarma with them. I guess the Mexico Natives started calling the Lebanese technique "Al Pastor".

    Lebanese is lamb al pastor is pork marinated in Mexican Spices and cooked in that special way, adding a slice of pineapple. In the North part of Mexico are called adobada but are not exactly the same, Mexico city's al pastor are the best. North-Western Mexico's carne asada tacos are better than bistec or beef tacos sold in Mexico city. Fish tacos were invented in Ensenada, Baja. You should visit Mazatlán for their incredible and unique seafood cuisine.

    Tacos al pastor is actually a very typical mexican food it’s just not as acknowledged. Tacos are more popular in smaller towns.

    Hey guys my fiancé and I just got back from Mexico City yesterday and before left we had “Pozole” from ‘La casa de don Toño’ in Zona Rosa. It’s 54 pesos for a large bowl and it’s the BOMB.COM! Highly recommend it

    * Misunderstanding, perhaps, he meant that there were the first onnes in DF or the first to add the pineapple to the meat. My oldest sister's (dinosaurio) godfather had a business of tacos al pastor in Tlaxcala, Tlax. (en los Portales) before 1966. He was from Veracruz . So these tacos have been in Mexico for loooong time.
