My 3rd brake light works on my 2007 Tacoma. I can turn the switch on and off from the scan tool. My fuses are fine. My bulbs work. It’s not the switch.
Great information. My issue was the switch. I was able to pull it apart and clean the contacts with some 320 sand paper. After that all was good. If you measured ohms on the switch there was a small amount of resistance. After cleaning there was no resistance. Switch comes apart rather easily. Thank you for your video.
Do you know if the switch would cause just one brake light to not work? I have two of the three brake lights working. Does that eliminate the switch being bad?
Rookie DIYer here with a question. Couldn't you have just tested the voltage from the beginning and determined the fuses were fine if you're getting power?
My top light above rear window (can't think of actual name) is working but not the brake lights on each side. Fuses and fine and bulbs are good. Running lights work as well. Any suggestions?

You always check fuses first....FYI....That's the easiest to eliminate
My brake lights only come on when I turn on the high beam head lights. Not sure if the brake switch can be bad or not.
Lightbeing how did you fix this problem?
What year was this tacoma?
Thank you! These instructions were easy and spot on!
