Unless it's the PW-MK.1 or its smaller version, it's not from the aircraft, as far as I know. It's probably due to the Cascadians destroying the cordium infrastructure around Magadan.

Ok so high activity cordium events are a thing and just like with IRL volcanic activity could cause problems operating in these zones.
For starters it fucks with long range communication, which is the reason why there is these massive spikes poking out of the ground everywhere. They are transmitters placed high up and away from the ground at regular intervals to bypass the interference.
Then there is the physical impact. Cordium is often linked to volcanic activity and it has shown with increased particulate concentration in the air, changes in the weather and temperature. This is known to absolutely mess up with electronics, especially aircrafts. An airliners that flew within such a dust cloud IRL saw it's 4 engines die out in the cloud while the whole aircraft was engulfed in static electricity discharges.
So it would make sense that the behavior of the local cordium be closely monitored. And Faust was intentionally messing up the place to try and cause a calamity event in the federation itself.
