I have been a student at both schools and preferred USC over UCLA. Much better access to professors, and contrary to what many UCLA students think, classes are just as difficult or more so at USC. I think it's because they have to compete with UCLA which is a great university and competition has contributed to USC's excellence in educating its students.

Also the household income of families of student attending ucla is Higher which shocked even me. ucla is a great discounted education but USC is much stronger University experience that continues until you die. The average cost to go to a 4-year state university is not 50k, maybe around 20k a year, including tuition, room & board, etc. subtracting scholarships which are not hard to get at all (at most uni's) and maybe 15k a year for the dead average college student. If you are poor, smart, or both, that number goes down even lower. Even the top-tier schools that cost 50k+ on paper are usually heavily subsidized by generous financial aid (especially the Ivy's). The only people that actually pay that much are rich kids who get into top schools and don't qualify for need-based financial aid, but they're usually well off enough in life that it's not such a big deal.

I attended BOTH schools and ucla cannot hold a candle to USC. This was a very well done video but the bRuin argument was that USC people do not care about the Community and that cannot be further from the truth. The volunteer involvement by USC is extremely high and well documented outside of Westwood. Also the household income of families of student attending ucla is Higher which shocked even me. ucla is a great discounted education but USC is much stronger University experience that continues until you die. Let's be honest here. You're likely a boomer. Back when you were applying to college, USC was a complete joke and anyone could pay their way in. It has been that way for the vast majority of USC's existence. It certainly wasn't very difficult to get into UCLA back then either.
The "bruin argument" was essentially that we've been ranked higher than USC for about 100 years, USC has historically been comprised of spoiled children that bought their way in, that these spoiled children primarily major in fields that take no real intellect (like business, communication, and film), that you're located in South Central, and that you pay 45K in tuition for an inferior education. All of this is still true to this day. LOL. And on the graduate school level, UCLA is superior in just about every department. It isn't even close!

The average cost to go to a 4-year state university is not 50k, maybe around 20k a year, including tuition, room & board, etc. subtracting scholarships which are not hard to get at all (at most uni's) and maybe 15k a year for the dead average college student. If you are poor, smart, or both, that number goes down even lower. Even the top-tier schools that cost 50k+ on paper are usually heavily subsidized by generous financial aid (especially the Ivy's). The only people that actually pay that much are rich kids who get into top schools and don't qualify for need-based financial aid, but they're usually well off enough in life that it's not such a big deal.

This video is funny. I'm a Trojan, but I would give the UCLA guy the slight edge in this video. Both covered the classic stereotypes with both schools. Both schools need each other to be great and I think they both are. I do think SC suffers a bit from its location. It's getting better with new campus expansion and the Figueroa corridor slowly becoming better.
