    Cassie,
    Seeing you reacting to this in a real movie theater was stunning. I could be wrong, but I don't think anyone has ever done that before. What a great idea! It was so nice seeing a blending of the new with the old in this film. Wonderful. It would have been nice to see everyone washing and cleaning up Ecto 1 in the end credits.

      It is pretty cool, no? She has done one before, but the audio was terrible, and it will never make it to RUclips. She rented out the theater for DUNE, and watched with 30+ friends and family. It's available on Patreon, and she interviews her whole family afterwards, its really fun. -Jon

    • @jonjohns65
      @jonjohns65 2 года назад

      @@jedijones You can hear about 90%, but she didn't have the best Mic back then, It was a real learning experience! SO much has improved, with the Ghostbuster reaction, and coming soon, another in theater reaction. In the DUNE reaction, the sound from the theater is really loud, so it kind of drowns out her voice a lot. Biggest issue is the edit for RUclips, since the film sound cannot be muted, it would get copyright strikes.

    • @jedijones
      @jedijones 2 года назад

      @@jonjohns65 Okay. Hmm. I haven't watched any since the Matrix 2 and Afterlife reactions because I either haven't seen these movies or thought they were kind of boring. I'm assuming she'll be reacting to No Way Home in theaters next? I think she needs to get back to watching some cult classic sci-fi and action movies or more iconic comedies. I can think of Commando, Animal House, Blues Brothers, Abyss, 2001, True Lies, Spaceballs, Blazing Saddles, Naked Gun. And she should definitely watch some of the all-time turkeys like Troll 2 and The Room.

    For a moment I was horrified at the idea of doing a reaction in a theater until you said it was rented out...I was afraid you'd turned into one of those people that made me quit going to theaters.
    This is essentially what the franchise needed after the unsuccessful reboot attempt a few years back, though it has a few small issues. One, not enough Paul Rudd. He fits with the Ghostbusters tone so perfectly with his style of humor. Two, not nearly enough Ivo Shandor; it was really weird to introduce the idea that he's actually still alive only to kill him immediately after he rises. And given that Gozer has no specific form, there's no real reason it should still look like an 80s pop star...they missed a perfect opportunity to have it come as a giant Sloar, just so we could see what that was. But these are small complaints.
    And of course they aren't telling the adults. These may not literally be 80s kids, but this is still an 80s kids movie in spirit, and we 80s kids went it alone-we had to, as our parents were always at work. I feel sorry for kids today, who have so little independence. What are they going to do when an ancient Sumerian demigod tries to take over the world, attack it with mean tweets?

    • @SeanBlader
      @SeanBlader 2 года назад +6

      Honestly I'm not against the 80's pop star Gozer, that way we got Olivia Wilde uncredited, and she was amazing!

    • @3Rayfire
      @3Rayfire 2 года назад +1

      I guess that's just how Gozer has chosen to manifest in this world before becoming the Destructor. I mean she stuck her head up in the 80s, maybe she dug the style. Just because it's an apocalyptic monster deity doesn't mean it doesn't have tastes.

    Hello dear Cassie, hope you are well?
    I'm glad you liked the film as much.
    I knew beforehand that it was Zuul again, but when Ivo Shandor moved, I also thought "Oh my Gosh!"
    Are you afraid of killer dogs? what about killer chickens?
    I have to admit that I was last able to see the original film through a good friend and I thought it was well done. That's what I call a worthy continuation to entrust the helm to a younger generation.
    I have to say that I even had tears in my eyes at the end, on the one hand because of nostalgia and because it is simply a beautiful legacy for Harold Ramis/ Egon Spengler!
    Thank you Cassie for this great reaction and for taking us to the cinema. I wish you a pleasant evening

    So I have a theory … The Ghostbusters bust very few actual (human) ghosts. Just one or two across the three movies, that we see. Humans still look human if they become ghosts. Instead, they deal with mostly demons, poltergeists, and other 'hellspawn'.

The updated look was awesome. And I'm sorry but I nearly cried when Ecto-1 peels out of the police station sirens blaring. That was such an awesome moment. @@Eidlones Actually, the whole joke of the first movie, is the idea of dealing with something fantastic, but it's just a 9-5 job and treated like nothing special.
      Besides, nobody said anything about any of that. I was pointing out the level of respect Venckman was showing Phoebe: acknowledging her as an equal and a fellow Ghostbuster.
      Not patronizing her with 'not bad, kid' or 'you're gonna be a great buster someday.' Not expressing how unlikely what happened was and how a kid never should have pulled this off. Or how all the equipment is dangerous and she shouldn't even be breathing on any of it.
      He just straight acknowledges that she is a fellow Ghostbuster, not some kid who found some dangerous toys and lucked out. Phoebe EARNED that.

    I was Very emotional throughout this movie. I love the respect this movie has with the original flick and the original crew. When the credits started to roll and the theme song came in i cried my eyes out. This movie for me is perfect. The right amount of respect and homages while still estabeleshing a firm foundation for a new crew and more movies in the future!

      @LMoftheCoast 2 года назад +6

      100% here too. I barely managed to hold it together through the Spirit Egon scenes, but the moment the theme song began to play I lost any remaining composure I had. It was just so cathartic. After the past ten to fifteen years of bad reboots and remakes of treasured properties of my childhood (and especially after the monstrosity that was the 2016 film) it was amazing to see a movie done right.
      Sure, there are problems with the film if you look hard enough, and there are things that I personally would have done differently… but that really doesn’t matter. It hits all the right notes emotionally, and made this old, cynical man feel something again, and even better, feel like the franchise and the fan base were respected by the movie makers. This film was a passion project, made by people who love the franchise, and it truly shows.

    I finally watched this last month and wow. I felt like the child I was when I watched the original. It was beyond charming and clever. I also appreciate that they took elements of a few proposed third entries that never came to be, and used them for this story. While it had a few call backs to the original, it did not go down the route of Force Awakens and lean on them (and become a greatest hits of the original) to attempt to be good.
    The way they brought Harold Ramis into this movie, and handled it with such respect and love was beautiful. It was also great seeing the original cast as well, and in a time frame that worked, where they are not forced into the story and overstating their welcome.
    And the theme of passing the torch to the next generation is also beautiful when you consider the director Jason Reitman is the son of Ivan, who directed the original.

    • @IR4TE

And as I said, it took elements from many proposes 3rd films, and used them... these elements dealt with Ivo Shandor and Gozer, so it was almost inevitable. Whereas you compare it to The Force Awakens, which used those as a crutch to redo the entire trilogy to attempt to tell a new story... this one did it right.
