Thanks for the update Drew.Sorry about your bad luck, that really sucks. You might try Blue Devil for the Jeep just to get you by for now.I ran it in my 4.7L Ram for 6mo. while I saved up the money for a set of new heads. You might get by with just a head gasket too.As for the Jetta, well that's a different story.... Good luck buddy.Sure was good to hear you again my friend....
Uggh what a bummer. I know how this feels. I recently put a used head on my audi 1.8t and turned out the head I bought was cracked. Said it was decked and pressure checked. Nope. Coolant mixed with oil. I caught it quick but what a kick it the nuts. My ax15 in my cherokee is being rebuilt and decided to do rear main while in there. Discovered my main bearing looked pretty nasty and oil pan had almost dirt or sand in it. Glad i pulled it. Who knows how the previous owner managed that. I also discovered 3 baby rust holes ive never seen in odd spots. When it rains it pours. Dont give up. Do some videos on what jobs people botch the worst on cherokees and why maybe.
Great video Drew! I like that the beard is back! Would definitely be interested in seeing you make/install some frame stiffeners! That is my next modification along with long arms! BTW I absolutely love my onboard air! Of course it’s a must for my lockers but having the ability to air up is a game changer. Good to see ya! ❤️🐞
Thanks bug! I think the stiffeners would be a great challenge. I love the long arm idea. That’s on my list for sure. I over looked the on-board air. I could have used on-board air so many times by now lol
I really like the look of the fender flare rock sliders made out of tubing and sheet metal to the body, then it could tie into side step/rock sliders. I would be super interested in seeing you fit 35s on a 3.5” lift.
I’m going to try and fit 35s with a 3.5” lift on my 2 door here in the next month or two. Would make good content. I know of a guy who fit 33s with no lift.
@@TheOffRoadCorner ...a lot of the Australian off-roader’s fender flares have tubes running into the front bumper and to the sliders...be pretty badass to see an xj with that setup
Get a tupy head, they all have their same casting # o331? But the newer heads have "tupy" cast right under oil fill cap. Got mine from a 2004 grand Cherokee.
@@TheOffRoadCorner Thats what happened to mine. I got a used TUPY head off ebay for like $250, cleaned it up and slapped it on and it runs like a champ!
@@TheOffRoadCorner aww I appreciate ya😭. On to bigger and better things... literally. We talked about the back being too small. Currently looking into a JDM RHD diesel 4runner or Landcruiser 😁

I’ll check out blue devil. It feels good to upload again. Been stuck thinking about this stuff for awhile.

Oh! And congrats on the 3K !!! 🍻
Drew check out Clearwater cylinder head. They have some good prices on new cylinder heads.
Thanks for the info Dan. I’ll check them out
Subscribed buddy!!! Good luck! I have a b5.5 Quattro Audi and I have a 97 2 door XJ so I feel your pain.
Thanks man!

Do you have a video doing the rear fenders?
That would pretty sweet to see the flares flowing into the rock sliders. If I can get ahold of a set of 35s I definitely give it a shot.
It’s one of my older videos but I show how I cut and folded the rear wheel aches

Jeep could just be a head gasket, that's a day or less on those 4.0s
My fear is it will be much worse. That would be great if it is just the head gasket but I’d like to only have one can of worms open at once.
video on head gaskets coming soon? I also need those bumper files please and thank you
Lol! Yes sir. Bumper file are in the works
Keep doing what you do brother 👍🇺🇸🦅
Will do man! Thank you for the support!
Congrats on the 3k!
Thank you Jon! 2 days after talking to you I found water in on the dipstick of jeep. I can’t make this stuff up lol
@@TheOffRoadCorner yeah, that oil cap looked pretty nasty. Good luck man. Since you have to tear it apart have you thought about going Stroker?
I have been thinking about that. This motor does have 200k on it. It might be time to stroke it
2000 to 2000 had the 0331 heads that would crack trust me I swapped a 1999 jeep motor in it

Do you know if the tupy head from 2000 and up wranglers and grand Cherokee fit on 2001 Cherokee?
@@TheOffRoadCorner they sure do, mine is a 2000 block with an 04 head
Liked for the "makes the front bumper look like shit..." comment.😂
Lol thanks Cisco. I hope all is well with you
@@TheOffRoadCorner it is man! Update: I sold the jeep!
Man! Sorry to hear that! She was beautiful
Man im not a mechanic but I replaced the cylinder head on my jeep in a weekend, I know you can fix it!
I think it is the cylinder head. I’ve heard 200-2001 0331 heads are known to crack between #3 and #4 cylinders.

That’ll be awesome. I think a FZJ 80 would be sweet to build someday.
