@@FightMeTotalWar on how to play in generel? XD the ultimative guide on how to attack, or just tip and tricks and then make tiers from most useless to most usefull
Exactly, if you're good timing the withdrawal of the first line with the second line charge the enemy gets shredded whereas you don't suffer too much. I like doing it especially with Bactrian Royal Guards , who are heavily armoured and can take the pilum hit alongside their Frenzied Charge and nice charge bonus. When the bonus fades I try to send in a second line of either Thorax Swordsmen or more Bactrian Royal Guards. It works especially well for barbarians with their headhunters and frenzied charge abilities. And of course for cavalry, it's normally way better to ciclo charge, especially a shock cav rather than staying in melee.
I have over 500 hours on Steam for this game, and the biggest mistake I see new player making is not keeping their army together and attacking in waves. The only time I really recommend splitting ur army up is when ur playing more as a support army with ur team, but you need to let ur team know beforehand as it can end up not working if you don't
I wasn't completely convinced of the archer/shield/side shot importance of left vs right until yesterday. Had 2 archers shooting some agema spears on the walls that had surrounded a thorax. The unit on the left broke after a few volleys. I stopped firing on the unit to the thorax right after 2-3 volleys and only getting 6 kills.
@@FightMeTotalWar No problem, i have seen some channels actually test it out similar to what you were doing with those Cretan archers. And it's always felt like better results firing into the un-shielded side of units.
2:00 Hands down this made the game more enjoyable for me. I enjoy the tactics and manuevering of TW: Rome 2 alot, however the controls were incredibly clunky, and right click and dragging my units everytime I wanted to slightly shift their position got irritating fast. This however, this made it actually fun to play battles! Many, Many thanks for this saving my campaigns!
as a Massagetaean, Royal Scythian, and Parthian user, I totally agree with your tactics regarding how to use archers, then once I see the super heavy infantry units scrambling away - I charge them with Royal cataphracts.
This is really more of common sense, but here it is: Hug the walls/buildings aside from stadiums and that platform tower building to defend from arty and sometimes archer shots. Something that might make playing it better would be animation mods though, but that's hard to pull off in multiplayer.
This is the best made tips video I've ever seen for this game. Nice. Ive played the TW games very casually since Rome 1. I usually play EU4 for GS games. Or HoI4. But I still come back to this game for fun
Wow..just restarted playing this game and this video...is perfect. Needed tips before deciding to do multiplayer. And you just solidified how I should play this game.
So u dont have to waiste ammo but, if you planning to do a big archer fight and you think you will lose a lot of archers you should shoot some infantry first, bc everytime u lose a single archer you ammo count goed down
I don't know this is cheating or not.. But click move unit multiple time behind the enemy that block the breach.. Make them pass.. With some lose of course
do you mean a push through ? it is considered cheating if the unit you pushed through is an infantry unit or any other unit that is ''bulky'' i would say. But it is ok to push through any unit that have its soldiers stand spaced out, like archers and skrimichers.
ohhh look at that athens army... such a suprise from fight me. and also torts are only a must on *civilized* settlements... barb maps u cant bring them sooo
Use a tough infantry to keep them in place, then flank with ranged. If possible, send melee units to attack the rear. Melee cavalry is good for this. Also, base legionaries are not very good. Spring for veteran legionaries and chohorts.
What ro you mean everyone should be able to bring tortoises?? The game is already kind to most factions. It was meant to be historically based. This means if a tribe did not have a certain technology then it shouldn't be in the game.
Amen. Next he will want special units that carry 'Suebi LIves Matter!" banners into combat to really frighten the enemy. Peltasts with rubber ammunition, or 'Green' Forges to make heavy weapons. Maybe they will ban multiple-shot siege weapons as 'unnecessary'? More, free Roman technology for Kush because they are disproportionately affected for being a darker-skinned tribe... Minimum hiring quota of Non-European mercenaries to better reflect the world. That's what the Faction 'Democratii' would do... A Hunter Biden Spy with a personal scribe tablet that he loses all the time, Nancy Pelosious Monstrous as a 'Hero' with a +3 ability to tear up documents and dishonor treaties... I could do this all day.
I have been able to defeat Oathsworns with Bactrian Royal Guards. Heavy hoplites are really overlooked, although I agree that swords provide a better versatility.
Try playing the game and not making everything easy. There are build charts and experience for a reason. It's why I refuse to play online with anyone - you all want to win SO BAD, you mod and cheat your way through every battle or game. What fun is it? And, no, every faction should not have what other factions have - you are obviously young and think like the people who confuse equality with equity, and cannot stand that one tribe/faction may have something another does not. That is the way the world is, and that is the way the game should stay.
I do agree with making everything easy for your self, thats why i want to show these tips etc to everyone so their are no knowlage advantages and this way people can have more good played games and dont feel lost bc they have no idea what they are doing and picking always the bad units compare to other people, which will make their experience little better
I dunno why you're taking MP sieges that much into account while making videos. MP community is a very very tiny fraction of the total war community, those who even play MP sieges battles is just a microscopic percentage of all the people who play total war. Total War is not a MP game genre, it's a SP game genre with a meehh... MP component. So please, give us SP content with this quality. Also absolutely nobody cares about the tortoise or how good a faction is in siege even if they play MP.
FFS, if you are going to edit the dialogue, make an effort, it sounds like you are reading a script in the most monotone voice ever at 300000 mph, makes it so unappealing and uninteresting to listen to lol
What Are Your Tips for the people that are watching?
wanna get together in a vid? and make like a list.. then make most usefull/advanced tier 1 to 5.. like a ultimative guide
On what topic? factions tips units?
Don't watch ? I guess thats the best tip ... or bring as many thureos as you can JK very informative and helpful video
Hahahahah Thanks STEVE!
@@FightMeTotalWar on how to play in generel? XD the ultimative guide on how to attack, or just tip and tricks and then make tiers from most useless to most usefull
CTRL+A to select all units & CTRL+F to toggle foliage(trees, bush’s, etc.) Very basic controls but I’ve seen a lot of people on Reddit don’t know them
Cycle charge your units. Use your gen abilities and avoid friendly fire :)
Thanks for your Tips!👌

For Hoplites, charge your unit in then get into hoplite wall after 10 secs

Yeah its a thing haha. When i was a new player and when i heard for the first time about it i thought it was a myth but it is true yeah
Fairly confident it's worked like that since the earliest games in the series.
oh oke yeah rome 2 was my first total war game

200 IQ
Keep reserves nearby don’t have part of your army in the keep and others at the wall. Keep them all close and move them back as the game goes on

Thank you so much I had no idea why my archers kept on charging in to fight
Oh Np Dylan, glad to have helped out!
I thought that as long as Skirmish mode was on they wouldn't approach to any enemy unit, but skirmish mode doesn't work properly in this game.

Really nice video, I learnt some things. What about a campaign tips video?
Nice to hear that man! Yeah i def could do that in the future! I just finished an exam week so now I will be making little more vids!
The siege tower ambush is a very good tip… but that’s such a shitty mechanic lol
hahhah ye buts its fine
maybe the most useful yt video for rome 2 total war out there, well said man!
Thanks a lot Hyen! Means a lot to me!
fantastic , how do beat the romans one on one because everyone always keeps using the romans and i cant one on one their i nfantry
Tylis, Boii, Galatia, kush do a great job fighting rome inf 1on 1

Attack the right points in a siege
yeah Also important knowing the right spots to attack on every settlement!
A friend of mine always says that corners are the key. I simply choose the place with less arrow towers.
No campaign tips?
learn alot thx bud
Glad to help Zero!
Thank you😊

I was more saying that you should not have it locker behind a dlc everyone should be able to get them with or without buying a dlc
@@FightMeTotalWar I see. Yes absolutely.
None of the factions historically had “tortoises”. They are fake and ridiculous so dont bring up realism
