- How Riley’s Lead Emotion Will Evolve Into Love In Inside Out 2!
Pixar’s Inside Out 2 is getting ready to add a handful of new emotions into Riley’s psyche that each seems to match one of her already existing emotions. All except one. The only member of Riley’s original emotional support team who doesn’t seem to have a match or counterpart is Joy. And though that might look like an oversight, it could actually be a really big hint for what’s to come. Here’s how Riley’s lead emotion might just evolve into Love in Pixar’s Inside Out 2!

I don't think anyone is transforming, but I do think that Love, as a different emotion unto themself, could come out towards the end of the movie. You have to remember that joy and love are separate things. You could be madly in love with someone, and angry or sad that you can't be with them, for example, or you could be more afraid for someone's safety and such BECAUSE you love them.
Yeah. Love is SO complicated it can't be it's emotion, rather a mix of all the others
Love is not an emotion it is an attitude.
@@alllscination"Love is not an emotion, it's a feeling." Works better imo
Even without knowing that personally (complicated story that has nothing to do with romance.)
I actually like the theory that people with depression or chronic anxiety literally get their own emotions to deal with. It’s kind of like how the adults have a certain core emotion who runs the console, similar to how joy took over 90% of the time when Riley was growing up, but like Riley, learned to deal with it and be balanced. But what if they have more complicated issues? That’s where extra emotions and chaos come in, like anxiety. So I like the theory that Riley either had temporary anxiety issues that come with teenagerhood, or that she’s actually developed an anxiety disorder that she needs to learn to deal with. Especially considering that Riley is known to be happy and cheery even in the worst situations, she could have the personality where she’s trying to bottle everything up (as seen in the trailer) just to keep that persona together. Clearly she’s good with major changes, as seen in the first film.
Ennui and sadness, yes; anxiety and fear, yes. But I think you might have gotten the other two backwards: embarrassment strikes me as being more closely related to disgust, and envy to rage.
Anxiety is also related to joy besides fear. Envy is a combination of sadness and disgust
@@edt-ze3ke we out here combining emotions like pokemon types.
embarrassment -> being disgusted at yourself (or someone if secondhand embarrasment) . and envy -> being angry that your not in the position of the person you envy
That’s why they are bluish green
I think sadness and embarrassment match
Ok … that’s a cool theory but one problem we actually see anxiety and fear was behind joy
And? Fear and anxiety go together
Wth does that mean I also didn’t see that in the trailer
And? Fear + Anxiety can go together.
@@laurensouthern9431 Me either
@@PERRYTHEPLATYPUS703anxiety also come together with joy
Joy and Love go hand-in-hand like fear and anxiety do, so a new emotion called Love could very well appear in time to assist Joy in saving Reiley.
I thought of her dividing herself into two: love and ego, hope and pleasure or ID and Super Ego but it probably won't happen in the second movie.
Probably because "Joy" is currently the only positive emotion
Hi! Great vid! Just as you noticed, the new emotions could stem from the core 5. Embarrassment is pink because it stems from red Anger. Envy is teal because it stems from blue Sadness and green Disgust. Their hair is also similar. Ennui is deep purple(?) because it stems from purple Fear (maybe darkened by black Depression?) That would make orange Anxiety stem from yellow Joy (and maybe red Anger). If you remember, Joy is very hyper, apprehensive and controlling during the first film. That would make her a good candidate to be Anxiety's match. And Anxiety's hair is an exaggerated version of Joy's hair. Please don't hate me, it is just a thought.
its joy not happiness
@@ahhh_help hahaha! Thanks! 😅
OOO GOOD POINT
I'm glad I wasn't the only who noticed this. I wonder what this movie will do and I am very excited to see it through.
In the first movie disgust saids *I'm starting to (envy) the dead mouse*
Foreshadowing
I hope they have an emotion called intrusive thoughts 🤣🤣
That one is literally running my command center at all times 😂
@@GachaWolf81900for me mines hunger
I think it's not love but compassion. Also a complex emotion but is just as significant as the rest of the new emotions. Joy's equal. also a great balance to envy, embarrassment, ennui and anxiety.
Love isn’t a form of happiness or joy, it is a form of attachment (and if we’re getting technical it’s actually a chemical response in the brain). Love can be connected to joy, sure, because love can make you happy…but it is totally separate in that love can make you feel just about anything, including the other four core emotions. As for a transformation, we see fear and anxiety in the same room together so clearly fear did not transform into anxiety. If we’re going to bring the first movie up, as well, we should also remember that the plot has to advance and send a message and the emotions had to develop emotions for that to happen, so it could very well just have been a plot device to move the story forward.
I think Riley being adopted should be addressed in this movie. Children who were adopted as infants have trauma from that transition from birth mother to adoptive family and often spend their entire lives wondering why they always feel anxious. Clearly Riley first saw her parents when she was clean, dry and swaddled in a bassinet, not in the delivery room. She also has blonde hair and blue eyes and her parents both have brown hair and brown eyes. Slim chance that she wouldn't resemble either of her parents.
While this is an interesting theory, I had a cousin who was born blonde and as he got older his hair turned brown.
Its not impossible. Some people resemble their grandparents or even aunt/uncle more than their parents.
Or maybe riley was born via csection and just shown to her parents shortly, then meassured, weighted etc and handed back dressed to the parents. It is not uncommon to happen in america.
@@MsKatastrophenBarbie she looks nothing like her parents. It's literally genetically impossible for 2 brown eyed, dark haired people to produce a baby with blue eyes AND blonde hair.
I like this theory but I don't she adopted. I'm blonde hair and blue eyes but my siblings and parents all have brunette hair and green eyes for exception of my dad and brother who blue eyes but I look exactly like my grandmother, my dad mum and I wasn't adopted but I do like this theory plus it a Disney movie you really think they gonna give a graphic scene of birth
I wrote a comment on an Inside Out 2 short a while back saying something similar to this theory but I feel the new emotions are combinations of the current emotions;
Sadness + Fear = Anxiety
Fear + Disgust = Embarrassment
Disgust + Anger = Boredom
Anger + Joy = Envy
Then the 5th emotion will be l;
Joy + Sadness = Love
It shows that your emotions become complex as your grow older and go through new experiences but they all originate from your core emotions.
Why do Anger and Joy form envy?
@@Starberry7 what you envy is something that brings you joy but it angers you that you don’t have it
@@amnedits4898 oh okay
I think lover will appear in inside out 3
Or maybe at the very end of this movie
Yeah, cuz each movie seems to explore different periods of her life, first was child, second will be teenager
@@prince32YT Plus emotions appears at different times.
probably when riley going to fall in ''love' with some, love will appear.
@@antunderexist692 she did also see the boy here tho, but I doubt he or she got anything
@@prince32YT Dunno, as Love already complicated so lol
I feel like she might be starting puberty so she's already more anxious than normal but her parents might tell her they're getting divorced so her anxiety and other emotions are lingering longer than they should be
She finally got a matching emotion nostalgia
As someone with depression and anxiety since I was 10, sadness and ennui being connected makes complete sense and that’s how I constantly feel; also the idea of the fear being so strong that a new emotion, anxiety, is created is also relatable! Great theory :)
Theory: so joy is every emotion in her own way she even show's a emotion the emotion's had never recognized. She is every emotion in her own way and it creates a new land at the end emotion land
I have a theory that riley is going to find a way to balance out her other emotions and normal emotions. Her mother's anger emotion mentions "well thats a preview of the next 10 years" when riley has a breakdown about herself. To me this makes me think that riley's mom might have gone through this too and might help her or perhaps take her to a therapist to talk about these feelings and emotions to find a way to live with them.
Perhaps a “matching emotion” will appear in the new Inside Out show Disney+ is making
I love this. They used the first movie to help explain emotions. And if they expand on it in the second movie they could use it to work with kids on their emotional intelligence as they get older.
Love is an action more than an emotion
love can match Joy
That's right!😊
The VERY adult version of this would be joy splitting off into a 2nd&3rd character and it being pleasure & love but they stick together a lot so later in life she’d confuse the 3 different emotions.
I’m now looking forward to watching this movie thanks to you thank u ☺️
perhaps the yellow inside out character is a spiritually blessed and powerful and chosen person without even knowing it
maybe the yellow character from inside out is having to love god and jesus and help others more often than herself i guess
OOF
I thing the emotions with merge back to just 5
As someone who has adhd and anxiety i can promise you anxiety being it’s own emotion and as it looks like in the trailers is taking over! Is a representation of fear and disgust trying to control your life. As seen in the trailer’s anxiety pushes Riley to act differently embarrassment is fear and sadness, envy is disgust and anger and boredom is disgust and sadness. Your hormones get all complicated and confusing at this time and especially at the beginning you don’t feel like you. I have a feeling that it will start with Riley experiencing something that has everyone going crazy and joy is unable to calm them down then BAM everyone shows up. Mixes that exemplify more complex emotions
And like anyone acting on anxiety and not fear acting on envie and not simply anger or boredom and not sadness or simple disgust. You lose that joy. Your entire life is filled with a buzz of panic. Nothing hits right
I think boredom is what happens when you are devoid of joy… anxiety leads when you can’t feel comfortable.
There is a place for anxiety… for embarrassment… for boredom… for envy. But there isn’t a place for them without fear driving that anxiety, joy to push yourself when you are bored, disgust to recognize those icky feelings and redirect them into something more productive. And sadness to feel those feelings with that embarrassment.
Anger is the one left out. But i think there is more to this story… if we are seeing a girl growing up… and two boys are part of our cast… I think we might see a very interesting transformation.
Emotions have emotions, emotions inside emotions have emotions...
Joy turns into Love ❤️
Hi I love your videos ❤🎉😊
But I prefer that Lovely the Emotion of Love ❤️ to apre when Really has a Crush
There should be excitement as an emotion
Now i want that to happen but i know there is no way its true
🤔 Well there's two thoughts of Love that she could make her appearance or not if they decided not to put her in it. 💘
Either she could make her appearance at the ending of Inside Out 2, or they decided to save her for Inside Out 3 depends how the story goes.
In my version, love is a part of my emotion friend group called the feeling hub. 😀💗
I would think sadnes is joy counter part emotion
please. please let there be a love headquarters IN THE HEART
Nostalgia
I like the originals
What gets me is that they added other emotions that are usually negative. Joy is the only positive emotion. It would have been nice to add love or at least content. Now she has 8 emotions that are usually negative and still only one positive. Maybe that is why Joy feels like she has to be in charge and tell the others what to do because if not Riley would be a depressed person. Usually people are not happy when they are fill with anxiety, embarrassment, anger, fear (kinda with fun scared but usually not), sad, or disgusted. The only positive emotion being the Joys for anyone is pretty bad and seeing as how only Riley seem to have Joy as her main emotion is makes you think that everyone else in that world is depressed.
Im pretty sure the actual reason why joy doesnt have a matching emotion is because inside out 2 SEEMS (from the trailers) to be about Riley navigating the intense experiences of puberty and not so much love.
Should note Inside Out follows the psychology of emotion pretty much to the T. The emotions that are new in the sequel are advanced emotions that have reduced intensity of its core. You could note that all of the new emotions are not combinations! Just advancements in complexity to the cores! Love is a /combination/ of two core emotions, and joy as her core self seems to, in the original film, cover many of the advanced emotions thay branch off her!
To create an effect of love, two of the core emotions required to create love would only need to both use the console at the same time.
Disgust is so me with her hair 🤣
I would actually flip Envy to correspond to Anger, and Embarassment to Disgust
I think they are combinationation of the emotions saying that they each correspond is a bit of a stretch
Sadness+Anxiety =Depression
I love her
Love made me love this boy Ricardo I like him❤
Close. I'm calling "compassion." Slightly different.
That kinda would explain why the adults only have the basic emotions.
I would like to see confusion in inside out 2
I honestly hope love would be their own emotion tho
The 5 new emotions are their Own characters
5 basic emotions Become bottled up in the new movie
From the trailer I dont think its going to be transforming, but rather incorporating. The Main emotions are the base emotions. As you grow older and experience new forms of those emotions, its easy to call them different names, but without being able to process them and figure out what they are and WHERE they come from, it can be hard to address the stressor. For example. Many people will throw around "Stress & Anxiety" Alot, but what is it? They can name the sensations and what they are thinking, but at the core of anxiety is....fear. For folks who have Anxiety, therapy helps them recognize when they are feeling it, and to deconstruct the emotion to its base form. And then they can work on addressing it. You can't address anxiety, unless you address fear. Anxiety is not a separate entity from Fear, but rather a BRANCH of Fear.
And I think that's what the second movie is going to be, teaching Riley and the audience where these more complicated emotions stem from and how you have to address and involve that base emotion to start to help heal yourself.
I think since riley is a teen now she might starts to have feelings for somebody so love would be a good emotion to be in the movie bcz currently joy is the only positive emotion
There's actually a fanfic story where Fear and Sadness get married and Sadness give birth to Two twin emotions a boy named Shyness and a girl named Love 💞😘
I would of prefered that instead of making "new emotions" as separate characters having them maybe fuse or evolve like the crystal gems in Steven Universe. It would make more sense and not create any plot holes from the first movie.
I believe that joy will come love ❤️ and the others while in real life that could happen the other emotions most likely they won’t transform i
What about Empathy? That's an emotion Joy has exhibited, too- just not so much at first glance.
It's a cool theory, but I don't think love is gonna be it's own emotion, just like I think hate isn't gonna be, love and hate are everywere, love for your family, your friends, certain hobbies, or even love as we think of as romantic love would likely already be represented from the start
Honestly.... starting a period is definitely something to be anxious about... especially if she ended up...uh... "Leaving a puddle" in her chair in class or at lunch...that woulr definitely end up causing that cause she probably wouldn't know what's going on...... especially since those new changes were never seemingly explained to her
I don’t know if they would add that in a pixar movie imo
I want to see them depict someone with DID in inside out
Ennui & disgust could also pair
To be honest joy already has sadness as her opposite so doesn't that count as a match?
A thought I just had is, I think they they had teased Riley's BI early in the first movie. why do I say that? because if you pay attention to the emotions of others, like her parents, they both have gender specific looks to their emotions, now look at Riley, she has both male and female themed emotions, showing that she's different compared to her parent's
ya love
Why does joy glow tho
I have a cool and unusel idea and you mitt think its crazy but What if thay had a inside out starwars what's going on inside anikens head
Personally i dont think new emotions will stay too long and might disappear at the end of the movie but they can combine with the older ones and look more like Rayley
So nobody knows how to spell riley…

Personally I disagree with love concoring anxiety. She can totally get love dont get me wrong BUT. Love dosent over come anxiety. I have had REALLY bad anxiety my whole life. I cant even go into a room if the door is shut because I dont want everyone looking at me. But I do have a lot of love in my life. I have a family. And I love my family so much.
But love is a feeling not an emotion
So cool👌🏻
Oh and you were using furniture For the 5 new emotions really it's 4
Anyone else think the addition to the new 'emotions' feel unnecessary?
First of all these connections are very very loose. I don’t even really see the connection between most of the emotions you’re saying are connected. also wasn’t the point of the five emotions in the first film to cover everything no matter what emotion you’re feeling it could be considered one of those five things
Join never evolves
y are her emotions both guys and girls???? everyone else matched genders with their emotions. is this a hint at smth else?
for the audience perception, at Riley's age the emotions may have stronger ties to perceived genders we tend to associate more with it, vs what Riley would interpret them to be were she aware in any way of the internal dialogue we are getting of her. And I don't think we are getting love as a partner until Riley is an older teen. That would be like the third installment since these are like internal growing up discussions to give them something to think about. And with the volatility of some rabid disney conservatives screeching in media, because not every story has to result with a woman getting married to end a series on 🤷♂️ but, if they are keeping up with the child psychology research it could also end up a series later dealing with episodic emotions like Bluey for tweens.
