11:19 small mishap: meant to say a long single crochet not long double crochet, for anyone that caught that, might be confusing. i love this tutorial can’t wait to make it!
I can’t believe how much I like this stitch! I’ve been looking for something different for a scarf and matching hat for a cousin, and I think this is going to be it! It looks thick and warm without a lot of holes like some of the other pretty stitches end up with! Thank you so much for the excellent clear and precise instructions and well done video demonstration! God bless!
@anndecallender2829 I was only knitting but haven't touched the needles for over 40yrs😅. I looked up quite a few basic stitches and when coming to this video I feel the beanie was lovely so I tried. This is how I feel after completing it. The brim was ok. The body with honeycomb stitch became too thick & stiff for my liking. I feel if I leave the body honeycomb, I have to change the hook use for thr brim a little smaller so it's tighter & gives more support overtime. Or keep hook size for the brim, change the body hook is a little bigger to keep the yarn softness. I love the hnc pattern and will do a few sofa cover, it would feel good during winter time.
Just finished the beanie. It is really a great pattern, and as always your instructions are sooo good to follow. This was my first beanie and I can't wait to wear it. 💖
I loved this and will make a few hats with this design. Normally I turn off the volume but today I listened and I'm glad I did. Thank you so much for this video.
Sometimes the remaining two functioning cells of my greymatter processor can’t watch and listen at the same time either! But wasn’t this one well done??❤️
I was able fo finish a beautiful hat because if your easy to follow instructions. But for those who did not get the pattern right in rows 3&4 there is a correction that must be mentioned: Instructions are: after slip stitch and chain 1, do not turn your work. Do 1 single crochet, then in the next stitch under the stitch of the second row do 1long double crochet ( you mention that a couple of times). Correction: after the 1 single crochet do 1 long single crochet.... Thank you for the beautiful pattern
I'm finishing this beanie up. If you have a tight tension I recommend sizing 1 size up for your hook. Mine is really really dense and thick. Thicker than in the video and doesn't have much movement but that's my fault. This pattern is beautiful and easy. Next time I will size up! I could also see this modified for a half double crochet too!
I always wanted to make a cushion cover in this stitch but only saw it on Tunisian crochet before nite. Can’t wait to finally be able to make it without having to buy newer hooks and learn a completely new method.
Lovely pattern but I'm stuck trying this. How did you manage to create those V's when working through the other side? I'm trying so much but the back side of the lsc doesn't become a V. PLEASE I NEED HELPP.
Instruction clarification: At 10:30, the verbal instructions say a "long double crochet", but then a long single crochet is used. At 11:36 the verbal instructions switch to "long single crochet".
I started to comment on the same thing, but saw you already took care of letting her know. The written pattern is correct, so hopefully if people follow what she’s doing, they won’t get lost.
I wish I could upload a pic of how mine turned out, it's a spectrum starting with the brim in blue, mid green, light green, yellow, light orange, florescent orange, red and finally purple . It looks awesome.
Hi, I tried this amazing honeycomb pattern and I really love it. Thanks for your tutorial. I followed the exact yarn, hook size, 74 stitches around, 16" brim but 1 ball of yarn isn't enough and I'm only up to 7.5" height. What did I do wrong?
Absolutely loving this tutorial and patter! I only have 1 question. You say to continue the honeycomb until you reach 9 inches from the base of the brim. Im at 8 inches so far and yours seems so much longer than mine. Can you confirm if its 9 inches from the base of the brim, or the base of the honeycomb please and thank you! 🥰❤️😁😁
This beanie is gorgeous! I can't wait to try the pattern. Does the crown closing method work with your other patterns as well? I recent crocheted the Almond beanie but I had trouble with closing the crown of the beanie. It close came out pretty bunchy and wonky lol. But other wise the rest of the beanie turned out beautifully!
Thank you for the pattern. Love to try i. I am having a hard time finding color theory yarn. Is there another substitute yarn that I can use which gets the same fit?
It is a beautiful pattern. I have crocheted almost half the beanie but it looks huge. There are 74 stitches but it is getting wider and it is really thick so not sure how wide it will be by the time I crochet 3” more. Please help
Hello Jasmine, the beanie should not be getting any wider as you work. I would count your stitches every few rounds to ensure that you are not adding any
I am also having that same issue. As well as having issues joining it and turning my work. I find that the stitches aren't lining up. May we see a picture of the back where you join? I can't seem to get the stitches to line up. Thank you so much.
I'm having the same issue. Still have 74 stitches but it's really spreading out as I work up. Not sure if it's a tention issue or what is happening. I'm gonna keep going and hope it turns out ok
Hello madam. Came to denver to visit my grandson.I am a beginner and i made this hat for my son after attempting many times. Finally it turned out really good. Thank you for yr tutorial. How can i post the pic
Thanks for the tutorial. Could you give the number of stiches in each row, please . I stumbled on third row not knowing the number of stiches I get after making the long sc .
Sarah gave different number of each row you just choose one that match you measurements. I measure the head that I crochet the hat for & figure out my numbers.
I love the texture of this beanie! I had no idea you could achieve this look with regular crochet...I'm used to seeing this with Tunisian crochet as well. I'm definitely going to try this! What a great Christmas gift this hat would make!
would it be possible to make a magic loop and attach it at the top (via slip stitch). Well is this technique doing the same thing? Novice here so please forgive my questions, thanks 😊
If you are repeating row 3 and then 4, you indicated earlier not to turn you work after you are done row 3. at 16.39 you now say turn your work? Can you please confirm?
I love the hat but am lost on your instruction. Mine seems to tighten up as I go up where I am doing wrong . Do you do 1 SC right on top of the lsc or on the next. Cause when I do that the hat is getting tight
in the free pattern, it says to make 74 st all the way around, and join to the first st with a sl stitch. but at the end it says in parasites (72st). so if it's 74 sc all the way around. How do you get 72st?
This is taking me long long time, n lot of yarn getting used, n i already made it to big for my lil girl 😝, but to hard to undo the whole thing n redo it, so lets see what we get at the finish,
In the 3 rd row you say long double crochet but you only did a single crochet. You mentioned long double crochet a couple more times. I’m going to assume you mean long single crochet the entire row but I hate to assume. Can you clarify please

I just did a scarf in this lattice stitch (Tunisian) but I’m having difficulty with this hat. I’m going to have to practice this a number of times.

The instructions for this hat are SUPER clear. Thank you.
Some videos and instruction are incomprehensible.
Great stictch.

I’ve always liked the texture of the honeycomb stitch. Nice tutorial!!
Thank you. This will be great for a donation hat in our cold climate.
Love how you make it so clear and easy , thank you
I had no idea you could achieve this look without doing tunisian crochet, gonna give this hat a try! Love it
Thank you Sarah for sharing this beautiful crochet tutorial ! Very pretty beanie ! 😊💗

Such a cute beanie. Thanks Sarah 💛
Very cute! I’m excited to learn a new stitch. Thanks!
Gorgeous!! I can't wait to work this pattern! Thank you for sharing!
Gorgeous hat and what an easy way to work it up! Also, the yarn you used has such wonderful stitch definition to it and a beautiful color. Thank you!
Lovely pattern but I'm stuck trying this.

I am wondering about the "slip stitch" comment about 14:24 but no slip stitch done in the video....?
I did a long double crochet for the first round, it ended up real thick but after that I've used the long single crochet. Still turned out alright
Another beautiful hat! Great clear instructions. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial.❤
Beautiful hat!❤. Thank you for the great tutorial!
I love the color of your yarn ! Beautiful work !

I thought it was tunisian, this is cool!
Love this pattern! Thank you so much! Can you share a link for the Pom you used? I’m not finding bigger ones.
I would count your stitches every few rounds to ensure that you are not adding any
@@RichTexturesCrochet I did every round has 74 stitches. It is also getting very bulky
I am also having that same issue. As well as having issues joining it and turning my work. I find that the stitches aren't lining up. May we see a picture of the back where you join? I can't seem to get the stitches to line up. Thank you so much.

Love this but is there a way to do it without the slanting start stitch. IMO, that ruins the hat.
❤❤❤❤❤ is this hard to do love learning new stichs
I love the texture of this beanie! I had no idea you could achieve this look with regular crochet...I'm used to seeing this with Tunisian crochet as well. I'm definitely going to try this! What a great Christmas gift this hat would make!

Same question
Only row 3 not turn your work BUT the rest of repeat row 3 is turning your work! So from row 5 up turn your work every round
The hat is so thick and dense. I can’t imagine how it pulls in at the top? I’ll keep going and find out though lol.
Would this stich work for a cardigan or jumper ?
bucket hat tutorial please.. 😍
I love the hat but am lost on your instruction. Mine seems to tighten up as I go up where I am doing wrong . Do you do 1 SC right on top of the lsc or on the next. Cause when I do that the hat is getting tight
Did you find your answer, if not yet, no she didn't do Sc after Lsc.😊
@ktp20101 Thanks .no I didn't get an answer

Is there a written pattern.
I’m making this because it looks knitted

How many inchforyenger
Most they are start from circle on top to down
Beautiful but extremely difficult.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
🙌👍👍
Unfortunately my work didn’t match the instructions, I don’t know what went wrong? I think because I’m left handed, so it didn’t work well 😢
