that car does sound amazing! Thankyou for what you do, I know you work your ass off... quick question :I have a 1st gen tacoma with a supercharged 5VZ-FE making just over 300 crank hp which is alot of fun in a 3500 pound truck. Ive been wondering if you could run a 5vz block with the 3vz forged crankshaft with 3vz heads since the 3vz camshafts can rev up to around 7k rpm where as the 5v cuts at 5300rpm. All the parts interchange but Ive never heard of it being done... was wondering if you had since you know pretty much everything there is especially jdm...

Your review of the Ford Probe was unnecessary. As a matter of fact I have personally gotten comments and concerns from the people of the . Ford Probe community who said that review could have been better . They didn't appreciate the way you bashed and trashed the Probe and I'm one of the people who didn't appreciate that eaither. With that being said your Nissan 240 Hatchback isn't so great either just saying

I’ve loved these cars since my friend had a low mileage 3 year old example. At the time, it was by far the nicest road trip car I had the pleasure of riding in. So smooth and quiet you could hear a pin drop. I bought my ‘96 1UZ last year on a whim. I just had this feeling they were on the verge of gaining popularity with the Supra selling at FU money. Then one night, I woke up for a midnight snack and started a random eBay search. And there it was. So cheap I thought it had to be a scam. Royal Jade Pearl gold package, rust free Southern California car, lowered, nice wheels and cleeeaaaaan.
I sent the seller a message and he responded immediately and confirmed it was the correct price. I pulled the trigger within minutes and 3 weeks later it arrived at 2 o’clock in the morning on a car hauler. The seller had just installed brand new Tein coilovers the month before I bought it. He claimed the wheels were “just OEM Lexus wheels from a GS300”. I could not find any GS online with the wheels until recently. To my surprise, they’re rare OEM OZ Super Turismos from the Lexus short lived L-Tuned performance division.
I don’t condone buying one based on wheels and stance. Those things are relatively inexpensive. First and foremost, have a budget. Then buy the cleanest example you can find from a rust free part of the country. They’re old and you will have to turn a wrench at some point. They all suffer from the same common problems. Door sag, cracked plastic interior pieces, leaking power steering hose, burnt out dash lights and climate control units, cracked upper door trim , torn leather seats and lower control arms. Find one where these issues have been fixed already.
Even with 225k my 1UZ still passes the champagne glass on top of the engine test from the original television ad.

I had an imported 93 soarer with the twins, got taken out on i75 in it, and it was a very sad day. such a comfortable car and smooth acceleration. one thing that always gets me is when people use the different soarer badge because it's easier to acquire. the gold wing lion is from the 1uz versions (sc400) while the red ones are from the 1jzgte (sc300....250?).

Great video. Keep information about these SC's flowing! It gathers interest and stops them from being recycled into toasters.

Soarer owner here in the states nice feature!!! Few corrections this is a non vvti 1j came with twins. The spool time is mostly down to that. Second the soarer is not much heavier then a supra i have the exact # somewhere but its not much. Mine has supra breaks and etc so the beautiful thing is it has so much upgrades that directly fit (differential, trans etc) such a fum gt car!! So happy i got mine

I LOOOOVE these cars! We get the 1JZ Soarer here in the U.K. too, but I haven’t got one yet. They better not start going up in price now you made this video! They’re cheap, even the VVTi.

I have a sweet spot in my heart for these cars. A buddy of mine had a white SC300 na-t build in high school. That car pulled on SOOOO MANY cars when we drove around. The car in this video looks like a very cool build. It sounds great and 400+ rwhp makes for an awesome street car. What the hell is going on with that interior though? Come on man, the bride seats(it's a street car), no door panels, and that blue dildo steering wheel? Besides that and the stance I think your a few thousand dollars away from a truly epic car.
