    Brilliant session, I was gutted when they went pop. Saw Altered Images at the ICA in 1981 and Siouxsie was in the audience:)

    Great hearing the Peel sessions on bands I never knew did them or missed them on the radio. I still get a sting of sadness at hearing John Peels voice and miss his presence and people like him who were part of my music culture and growing up period who championed groups and gave them a chance and who cared about music.

    A sadly under-rated group who produced some excellent work, a brilliant find.

      How is a group that sold millions of records and still in demand possibly underrated ????

      @@pressureworks Number 45 on the billboard dance club song charts is not even the top 40 chart. I wouldn't consider this to be a "hit". The radio stations won't even play this song unless you're on a New Wave station.

    Excellent stuff. I had no idea they had such a chunky sound before the chart hits. Really interesting, thick, layered guitar.

    Saw them at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, CA in the early 80's. One of the most memorable shows I've ever seen. So many saying sad they went Pop. We never called them Pop, we called them New Wave. New Wave was alternative to Pop. Debbie Gibson was Pop. New Wave is what made them so popular. They are the epitome of New Wave and 80's music which is why I love them so much.

      All of them wearing just the one T-shirt? No? Which one then? I bet it wasn't Mark E Smith, not really his thing I would have thought.
      - Oh no, wait, you were the one wearing the T-shirt. Okay, not so newsworthy, but it's just as well Mr Grumpy didn't see it.

Video see those eyes when I saw that video offline who in the heck is this but I admired Her Style full of bubbly happiness just like the dude said Sadly underrated band if they would have stayed. Together no telling how far they would have went. I tell you what they was number one in my book. Rock on altered images

      I've eventually realised that creating really good, simple pop music is very difficult to do. Thing I've always liked about AA is there is always a lot going on musically in their poppy songs - don't talk to me about love a great example.

    • @bitcointradingtoday3454
      @bitcointradingtoday3454 6 лет назад +3

      Agreed, their poppy stuff was brilliant too. They might have been seen as "Sellouts" at the time but listening to it back now, it beats the shite out of the stuff in the charts today. I love their more commercial stuff but in a completely different way to their punky/post punk stuff.

    Clare was every teenage boy's dream. I would have just turned 11 when they did this and didn't realise till now how feminine she was.. Punk music was never going to be a part of the 80's scene. Sorry but it was absolutely awful sound. But punks, going into pop, heavy metal and new romantics made the early eighties what is was. Great time for new music.
