- A short history of Brighton's Royal Pavilion, narrated by Andrew Barlow, a former Keeper of the Royal Pavilion.
The video describes the history of George IV's seaside palace, and the ongoing restoration work. It offers a view of several spaces in the building which are not accessible to the public, including the tunnel beneath the Pavilion garden.
The video contains on-screen subtitles and British Sign Language interpretation.
My mum and i visited Brighton in the 80’s we had tea in the pavillion it was memorable
I'm from Dijon in France and i visited the beautiful royal pavillon, is my favorite part in my travel in U.K.
(Sorry for my orthographe) 🇨🇵❤🇬🇧
Thank you so much! I saw it in the 1970’s but I wish I knew all this when we were there!
We loved the Royal Pavilion! 👍🏻
Fabulous! And so well done! Thank you!
It would appear to me that the prince regent created an Atlantic City casino long before there was an Atlantic City.
i thought it was a mosque.. the architecture is very similiar with most of the mosque in my country..
So beautiful ❤
Wherr are you from?
What a stunning mellifluous voice. Puts me in mind of a young Shirley Bassey. Which is interesting because I'm currently casting for a new play I've written, set in Wales. It's the tale of a ruggedly handsome Welsh sheep farmer and his companion, a Badger Face Welsh mountain sheep called Myfanwy. There's only two parts in the play, I'm playing Owain the farmer, wondered if you'd like to audition for Myfanwy?...
Actually the narration was done by me - it might have been written by Andrew Barlow (I don't know) but it's my voice.
ThePureMentality, hi there. Thank you for the very kind comment! I'd be very interested to voice something for you. The best way to contact me is via jonathanjrich@gmail.com
Omg i remember during the visit in Brighton, we had to watch this video in the royal Pavillion 😢
Super visite, c'est vraiment magnifique ...
Super narration, is there anyway I can get in contact with the narrator? I am a film maker producing a documentary about sanitation habits of people in the Midlands circa 1734.
Why was there someone signing the whole thing? They have CC. Do a lot of deaf people prefer the sign language or something?
This video is probably displayed within the pavillion museum.
I went there today it is truly lovely. But you can't take any pictures.
:(
I would love to be able to turn off the closed captions, AND to be able to turn off the sign language interpreter. However much necessary for deaf people, very annoying for lots of others. Maybe create two or three versions?
Why have sign language when you have captions?? So distracting!
hmm the cast iron frames on the dome look like hardwood, then we move to the wood frames
Explore Golgumbaz,Deccan india!!!
I study this building for the U, im actually in love ♥
awesome video, but why that man is there.... his causing a deviation and its hard to focus on the vdo bcz of him
He is an interpreter, for the deafs, translating in British Sign Language.
@@borisc6714 But superfluous since there are closed captions
The person that was signing was absolutely annoying and not needed due to closed captioning.
EXACTLY! It was not necessary!
us who were born illegitimately through king George iv, especially me,aren't included anywhere within the royal family and are to them, basically worthless, yet we share the same blood, sad isn't it!😐
Very distracting sign language figure takes up the whole left side. Certainly the subtitles are just as clear to understand.
islamic architect not indian
wrong.. check the internet
It was the British interpretation of what Indian Architecture was. Remember, neither George IV not the architect, Nash, ever went to India.
They based it on the descriptions of the royal buildings of India which at the time were Mughal. As everyone knows the Mughal rulers were Muslim and so the islamic domes and architecture is visible.
