  • First impressions of the Royal Enfield Himalayan Motorcycle.
I went out for a ride with a few Enfields, and met an old friend who was nice enough to let me ride his bike. Here are my initial thoughts on the bike. It rode great, and I encourage you to try one out!

Himalayan hit the market with a thud ever since itchyboots took it on a world tour!..... It has been my dream bike ever since the release of the first model! 3 models later I'm still waiting to buy it! Perfect for Indian roads and most Asian places and adequate for almost anywhere in the world! It's an all rounder.

It’s not a dirt bike …BUT in India there is a huge set of riders who traditionally take their Royal Enfield to the (well) Himalayas … the highest mountain range on the planet …this bike is for that kind of adventure..

Congratulations! You reviewed a sport-adventure bike intended for trail riding at highway speeds on a paved road. Overall, your review comes across like you didn't research the bike at all before hopping on and doing the review.

My first ride video was just that, first impressions. I did not plan on riding the bike but it was offered on the spot and I said yes. Unfortunately I didn't get the time to research it, take it on trails, or do more - because it was all offered on the spot. If it were my bike, I'd absolutely give an in depth review for all conditions
Again, this is just a first ride video. Everide has a wonderful review on the Himalayan if that's what you're looking for.

Sounds like the bike “grew on you” the further you rode it. Many people have experienced that, I hope that’s true for me when mine comes in

Certainly did! I'd love to have one in my garage.

I'm roughly 1.83m and it fit fine for me. You should have no trouble with one. The owner of this bike is much taller than me, and has no troubles. I suggest you sit on one and see if the footpegs are too cramped for you. If not, the bike should fit fine.

I'm 6 foot, my knees sometimes tapped tank bars (motorcycle trousers with knee pads) I took peg rubbers out and never hit the bars again, felt like it gave me loads of room plus better grip under boot! All in all I sit on mine for hours very comfortably indeed!!

      Am 6ft 2.
My knees bumped the knee curve areas of the tank but shifting back literally 2cm solved it. Suuuuper comfy ride

Probably wasn’t your fault that it stalled from what I’ve heard the bike stalls a lot when cold
