- Shelley Winters, Charles Nelson Reilly, Bruce Boxleitner, Robert Osborne, and Loni Ackerman join Dinah Shore an hour of comic chatter. Osborne quizzes Shelley on guessing the titles of her films and Ackerman sings "I've Got a Crush on You" and "Stormy Weather."
Shelley always seemed so down to earth and real, not stuck up like so many actresses and she knew how to have lighthearted fun and or romances with the male actors that she wasn't emotionally attached to. Very emotionally mature when she wanted to be. Of course I'm speaking about William Holden for one, whose get togethers with her every year at Christmas time for several years was the inspiration for the movie Same Time Next Year, supposedly.
She can be so funny and then say something so moving it can make you cry. Her emotions are heart felt and you can see how much passion for life . One life isn’t enough for Shelly. Such a thirst for life.
She’s so down to earth and practical. Very humble . This woman has won two Oscar’s and was in a place in the sun . A legend. And she’s surprised when a fan fans over her.
When a fan fans .... lol 😂
How wonderful to relive these great moments of television. Thank you for sharing.
LMAO at Charles Nelson Reilly: "its a lot better than the fondue we had last week!"
Q
Shelly was amazing in Next Stop Greenwich Village
What impressed me about Shelley Winters' book was not so much the sex stuff but how she makes it sound like all the young starlets, male and female, when they weren't working or involved in those crazy love affairs, just sat around and moped and cried and felt sorry for themselves. I'd love to have asked her about that.
I really liked Dinah!
I think that Burt Reynolds would have been happier if their romance had continued. Dinah treated everyone with respect..I love her rich speaking voice. She has a beautiful singing voice.
it wouldn’t have worked because Reynolds was gay.
I understand that Burt Reynolds’ was an extremely controlling abusive man.. as eventually told by Sally Fields 🌸
@@julieclifford7698Burt had a great body and great sense of humor that he charmed the females with.
Yes goodness knows how Burt treated Dinah in house@julieclifford7698
Robert Osborne was such a nice man...
Was this show still in 1980! As a teenager i loved watching ttalk shows when i could. I loved watching & especially loved Shelley Winters! Thank you fpr posting this☮️💟
This show was replaced by The John Davidson Show, I think.
I recall being disappointed that Dinah was gone, but John's show ended up being fun. At 4pm, a Rockford Files repeat was on but Oprah came along. That was the last time a repeat program was on at that time of day.. talk shows...
dinah sure packed the show with guests
Shelley Winters was such a scatter brain. She's the sort of person you would want to spend the day with and just let her tell stories.
Gad this is great. What's not to like here
This is a gem.
Robert Osborne was really nice looking.
This is truly wonderful,.
When talk shows had 4 or 5 stars on an episode. Funny to hear shelly winters day the recipe wasn't expensive. The only expensive expensive back then prob been the ground beef. But not close to what we pay today for lean ground beef. Oh yes I'll eat one esp after charles said there was o hair on the dough. Too many people in this cooking segment.
Classy group of people ! Watch this than Entitled people born from 1980 - 2000.
That Australian young man was handsome!!!
True!
So refreshing compared to Bitter Ellen scaring her guests.
Robert Osborne was a looker and a very distinguished looking older gentleman.
#shwlleywinters was an absolute Gas yo 😂
Shelley Winters, bless her, is a hot mess lol!
Shelley always gave MARVELOUS TV!!!
Shelly was a hot mess!!!! Dinah was a living doll. I loved shelly as roseanne barr a mother on roseanne, also the actress who played Shelly's mother, roseanne grandmother, Aunt Bev as they call her who is played by actress estelle parsons is still acting at like 94 and a must not miss when she's on the conners. But until everybody is vaccinated I guess they don't want estelle traveling. But she is awesome!!!!!!!
@@sxnico I wonder if shelly had a money problem. She made many references on this interview about money and costs. She went to work late in life on roseanne. I just wonder where she spent her money.
@@CharlesWhite-wh4ccright! I forgot about Nana Mary .. I think her name was. Shelley was excellent on Roseanne. Thanks for the reminder 😊
shelly loved the gay men
I think she was a bit of a Tom Boy in real life. Glamour girl don't suit her personality.
