It raised the hairs on the back of my neck when you mentioned the TAS Batmobile. The sleek design, that sexy purr is the engine as the car rolls. Simply beautiful.
Usually, in the live adaptations of The Caped Crusader, the Batmobile has been depicted as a heavily armored car, but Battinson's mobile is a departure from that.
I love how in Batman Beyond Terry is flying away from Starro and he asks Bruce what is the batmobile’s top speed, then Bruce says one of the higher mach numbers I believe. Then Terry says is that faster than a speeding bullet?

NO, the Batmobile came from, like a lot of Comic Heroes, from the Pulp Magazines. Specifically, the PHANTOM DETECTIVE (rather, The Phantom (he was rarely called Phantom Detective in the magazine)). From The PHANTOM DETECTIVE - MARCH 1935 Issue Pg. 25-26): "...and crossed to a parking lot. It was a dinky, small one, capable of holding only a couple dozen cars." The car he got was "A black, heavy coupe', it was four years old in model and design. The crumpled fenders had been badly straightened out. A film of dust lay over it, and the enamel beneath showed only too obviously that it had been neither washed nor polished in many months. It was, in short, the sort of car which no one would give a second glance. But this same black coupe' was as deceptive as a panthers velvety paw when the claws are indrawn. The glass in that coupe' was not merely shatter-proof, it was bullet-proof. So was every inch of it's body. And the motor below that dirty hood could maintain a speed of well over a hundred miles an hour. Could maintain it easily because of an especially weighted rear... The motor was noisy, laborious - until Van pushed a button beneath the steering shaft. As if by magic, the sound of the motor dropped to a smooth, barely audible purr...that other amazing features built into that coupe' manifested themselves .. .then pushed another button the entire right half of the seat silently swing forward and down. At the same time, a tiny overhead light flashed up in the roof of the now exposed secret compartment.
A submachine gun of a more modern, deadly design... gleaned shiny and sinister on a bracket at one wall of the compartment. Three automatics hung neatly below it. Under them, on a little shelf, were extra clips of cartridges. And experienced eyes would have identified below that shelf a half dozen tear-gas bombs. At the opposite wall, perhaps a dozen suits". Changing suits "he drops with the the clothes into still another secret compartment accessible from the floor of the one he now used." (His flat black make-up kit is there also). "Then he brought forth from a tiny compartment something that glittered in the light. It was an emblem forming in Platinum and Diamonds a tiny mask. The Phantom badge, and it was thus known throughout the world." (Kind of Self-indulgent here with this in the Early '30 and so on... Like saying "See how Very Rich I am and you're not" as I flash it around (in my opinion)). (It could also be a "Proto-Black Beauty")
I think the aston Martin db5 has lost its prestige imo because it has been overused and I know there have been a lot of batmobile but the is a lot of variation on them which keeps them relevant
Just love when you go over the history of these types of things! And to answer your question, the Tim Burton batmobile has to be my fav. But I was born in the eighties, so...lol
For me personally it would be the Keaton Mobile since it's the very first Batman film i watched as a kid. And then The Batman came around and good heavens i loved that Batmobile (both). That hum, the streaks of light as it zooms through the night, everything.
For me, my favorite is still the Keaton Batmobile. And while it was an Impala frame, it also incorporated a Corvette chassis, and this Batmobile design is probably why I love Corvettes today.
I love a lot of these batmobiles. My favorites being the Tumbler, the Animated Series Batmobile, both the Arkham Batmobiles, and the one from the TellTale Series
Telltale's Batmobile was pretty sleek, modern and I really liked the camo as a bright red sports car, which in retrospect probably was a call back to it's first design. So cool to learn about that.
One of my favorite batmobiles is actually the one from the Telltale Batman series. It looks sleek, intimidating, and packed with cutting-edge technology which is pretty much everything you would ever want in a batmobile. Plus as an added bonus, it can transform it a standard red sports car which I think makes it one of the more unique versions of the batmobile.
Personally, the batmobile I most relate to is the Keaton batmobile, it's the one I that most stuck with me from my childhood and that turbine engine in the front is just iconic.
I gotta agree with alot you're saying but one car I wish you'd look at, that I guess could be a 'cousin' to the '66 TV Batmobile and was a lot cooler because it seemed more realistic was the Black Beauty from The Green Hornet series. A armored limo, armed with rockets front & rear, Hornet gas ejectors, the truck was home to mortars, and the scanner, an audio/video flying drone. Also with a phone and can emit a police siren. And that classic black limo look never goes out of style w/o drawing major attention.
Nolan Bat Mobile for me. Something awesome about a fast moving tank. I once saw a random bat mobile driving down the road. It was the old school keaton bat mobile.
The Batmobile from Batman: The Brave and the Bold would be one of my favourites, it has elements from a lot of previous Batmobiles' while still looking cool and different to all the rest.
I'd like to see them revisit the car's origins. Batmobile as a menacing dieselpunk-style monster car resembling a radically customized 1950 Mercury Monterey built from Inertron alloy. Black cherry metallic.
I think my favourite BAtmobile is the one in the Batman: Arkham Knight videogame. It was a great combination of raw speed, muscle, and offensive/defensive systems, plus tech that was useful in actually detecting crime. The Batmobile should reflect batman himself, and the Arkham Knight Batmobile is a great example of that. I also liked how it was able to securely hold enemies to deliver to the GCPD.
I really liked the DK trilogy one for its practicality, and also the BvS one for the reasons Arris mentioned. The winner however can only be the animated series or the Kearon one. They kinda walk hand in hand and growing, those were the two batmobiles that defined what a batmobile must be like for me.
@@augustinayala1498 Gotcha. Honestly, when I first saw it I was sorta indifferent but I've grown to love it. We've had too many "tank" type Batmobiles lately so it's nice to see one with a sort of "sports car" look to it again.
Ralph still has the car, a 1947 Ford actually.... beautiful car.....cars from the 40's and 50's are some of the most artistic, they also make the best hot rods lolz
Keaton's batmobile was best, imho. I love the tumbler, too (I rate it a close second), but seeing the long, low and sleek profile of that turbine powered batmobile just looked wicked and mysterious at the same time. Leaves a lasting impression the others don't.
I always felt like the 2nd batmobile in The Batman from 2004 was definitely one of the best, has the classic look with the cool blue and silver on the side.
I still think the nature of the Keaton Batmobile makes it the best. The front engine and mechanical shield mechanisms give it a little steam punk look and feel.
