Different people, but there are a couple of different ones that are probably worth checking out. I do agree these guys should have a show as well, because they're hilarious!
I could absolutely see how some might consider that maggot race insensitive. After all they were feeding off a loved one's remains. I just know that anyone that's worked in an environment like that deal with things differently than most. You tend to develop a dark sense of humor people just don't understand. This really offers an insight into the minds of people who deal with tragedies everyday. Frankly speaking, they are some of the loyalist and emotionally strongest people I've personally ever met. Thank you for sharing that intimate part of the job.
Part of it to me to about it being dark humor is it gets you through the job its hard on people to see that everyday so it gives them some hope in what they're doing
Couldn't have said it better myself. The things these guys see and deal with on a daily, must be draining physically, emotionally and mentally. This is a way for them to deal with it and do the job in hand. They are the very best at what they do too. Also they are so kind and compassionate to the clients, they go above and beyond for them and do any amounts of other stuff to support some clients too. They're great... ❤
I loved that you and Laura were together for one! The maggot race wasn't insensitive! You guys are so right that there has to be some light heartedness to your job or out will get you badly. As long as you are professional around the clients themselves I say go to town! Do what makes you and us laugh! Thanks for all you do! 🌸
When I worked in a surgical office, we also has a plethora of gallows humor. It helped with stress and didn't affect our abilities. Ya gots to laugh. Loved the maggot race but they need more training. They are directionally challenged. 🐛.....
@Alicen Head during cleaning they have protection devices and hazmat vests and cleaning products. But spoiled food can cause serious illness that endure long time, are antibiotics resistant for many types of antibiotics. So don’t underestimate the danger of spoiled foods.
The gag reflex has been put there by nature for a good reason. It’s meant to warn human beings, particularly from foods that are poisonous. I guess that’s why they react so extremely. It’s a very primeval thing. When they look at blood, skin and leaked body fluids, their brain doesn’t connect that stuff to food and ingestion.
@UsernamesForDummies yeah I have an uncontrollable gag reflex, it’s triggered by some specific smells, or generally stinky odors. It’s neurological so it’s chronic. I’m a grown man of 32 years, live by myself and when it comes to trash it’s a nightmare. I travel worldwide for work, so I buy fresh vegetables and fruit meat prepare them and froze them, or just cook everything I will need when I came back and froze it. I use the fridge only if I don’t have to travel for a couple of weeks. Consume everything before the travel and throw the trash daily. But I still have the gag reflex problem when there’s stinks or a specific smell in the air one example is mold, or fresh rubber. It’s extremely hard to stop with a gag reflex, faking coughing, without having an extreme spasm that makes me puke like a fountain. So I feel the fridge problem through the screen.
I really appreciate the discussion about humor being used as levity and a coping mechanism. This isn’t easy work, it’s taxing to the body mind and soul, I’ve never seen or heard anything disrespectful. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Maggots are pretty cool! Per Google, maggots are creepy, crawly, and slimy. But that slime is a remarkable healing balm, used by battlefield surgeons for centuries to close wounds. Now, researchers say they've figured out how the fly larvae work their magic: They suppress our immune system. SOOOOO.... Kyle, Laura & Juan - if you get wounded on the job, you can apply maggot slime on it and you are good to go! You see, another reason why they are the best employees!
So gentle, professional and yet still tastefully funny as hell. So entertaining. Takes a lot of guts to this work. You guys rock. The maggots “aweee they’re so cute” 😅
Great, informative, & even a few laughs video. Your “laughs” were not at any client’s expense. As a retired RN, there were times we needed to laugh due to the stress of the job. It was always done away from the hospital. Amazed at your continued blessings for those & to those in need of your services. Thank-you.
So happy I got to see an episode with Laura and Kyle doing the same project!! I love your guys channel and appreciate what you guys do. You guys are the heroes most people don't know they need.
This is one of the many reasons I'm not a 'people person'.... Who the f*** locks their dog in a bathroom?! He should've been forced to get neutered after that. I'm not talking bout the dog obviously
My druggie roommates did thst. We lived in a tiny apartment on the 3rd floor. They kept buying and selling dogs and cats via Craiglist. At one point they had 4 dogs and 5 cats. They left one dog in the bathroom next to my fucking room and he ripped the carpet off the floor.

still amazed at how much of the cleanup is merely bending over with a hand full of paper towels, I was expecting some kinda nuclear x-ray device that like zaps the blood into a little tidy gift box and incinerates itself into another dimension or something lol

Having worked in pathology and also did autopsies, I agree, humor is crucial. It tends to lean towards the macabre sometimes and that's ok.... I'm sure there's worse things that have been said/done besides maggot races.... It's all about what you keep between yourselves vs what you show to outsiders. Glad your maggot won, Kyle, you're still the best (even with a flat butt, lol).
I really appreciate your channel here, guys. I tried watching the crimescene cleaners out of CA a few times but could not stomach the owner, Neal. So being able to see you guys working these jobs, and being so informative and considerate of the people affected, really makes yours the standout channel to watch.
A friend of mine died in February. He had moved far away and had isolated himself at his new place, so we didn`t know what had happened to him for a good 12 days. He had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest, probably due to a condition he ignored, and must have taken a nap on his couch as it happened. At any rate, people found him 10 days after his death, and there was a rather unfriendly article in the local newspaper about a badly overweight person with troubled living conditions where they put the main focus on the poor landlord who now had to suffer the costs of cleaning up. And how the medical staff hadn`t been able to pick the man up because they weren`t equipped to transport people in this state of decomposition, and had to leave him in the flat another night because they couldn`t transport him. Somehow I still can`t entirely compute how awful the fate of this otherwise loving man has been, and I guess one of the worst parts was that I just didn`t know how to cope with the fact that he had been left alone for so long, and even longer for lack of skill of the rescue personal. I just didn`t understand what might have happened to him, how to imagine his end, and that lack of knowing things made it worse. Your videos helped to fill the void. And as strange as it sounds, helped a little to cope somewhat to make things better for me. It also helps to know that there are actually skilled people who know how to cope with things. It`s strangely comforting. What I mean to say is Thank you for the work you do, and for your videos.
I've been racking my brains for months now of who Kyle reminds me of and I've finally clicked a youtuber called Chris Klemins you both act the same and kinda look the same love this channel great work guys xo
This job requires people with Compassion, Respect, professional, and above all a great sense of humor.... Great team. Why do people push dislike.... I mean they dont have to watch.... I love watching hope to see more soon.
I love Laura!! She’s the big boss and still works her ass off doing jobs she really doesn’t have to but she does, and knows how to have fun!!! By far this is the BEST Spaulding team!!!
Aww man, every episode i watch Kyle is always so amazing, from how he explains things to keeping it so respectful and considerate. Please if your ever in the Phoenix area send me a msg! I would love to treat Kyle and his favorite coworker to a spa day! He deserves it!
Maybe next time you have a maggot race, you put something rotten at the finish line, or dangle it in front of them. It is sad to think of the elderly guy living there w/o cooling for who knows how long.
You spoke of allowing humour into the situation. Studies she that first responders who use 'irreverent humour'- (ie. the stuff that's kind of borderline, situation dependent, but not offensive) have lower rates of PTSD than those where that is discouraged. There are biochemical reasons for it. Good for you for recognizing that if you don't laugh, you'd cry. The job you're doing is intensely stressful on all levels. That humour helps keep you sane!
The germ hater in me is astronomically jealous of the disinfectant fogger. I need me one of those for the house. Not bc we're filthy but with a toddler and 5 yr old about to start her first year in public school I feel like it would be very handy.
Elizabeth Garrison we use one in the dog kennel I work at and it’s called a “Fog Master Jr.” You can get one online :) we use Vital Oxide to fog with, which is a hospital disinfectant but not caustic or super dangerous.
Here's a tip: get a window A.C. unit and use it on jobs where the central air conditioning is broken. I have one I keep in my garage if my system goes down. It takes 15 minutes or so to put it in a window and start it up. I cut heavy cardboard and use duct tape to seal it in the window until the main unit is fixed.
I love your hearts and I love how you treat your employees. Kyle is a saint and I love his compassion for animals. I love the dignity that your service provides and how ya'll never disrespect anybody, no matter how they lived. I'm moving to the Pasco area next month and would love to work with ya'll! Hiring?
You guys are just so awesome!! Your attitudes, everything. I'm sure you make terrible situations bearable. Don't know how you do it, but super thankful you do!! Thank all of you!!
You guys do a service most people don't know about or even want to imagine. Read a book about this at least 10 years ago. I find this sadly funny but fascinating; along the lines of Hoarders & such. As they say, "It's a dirty job but somebody's gotta do it". You should have a MAGGOT AWARD🤗🦇😁.
I love how respectful all of your employees are. I remember watching another RUclips video of a man who does the same job but was making jokes about the victims (not maggots race lol) and said some really awful things.
@@sadghostyy I can't remember his name, but I'm sure if you look up "crime scene cleanups" or something like that on RUclips you can find it. I saw the video about a year or so ago.
i remember that guy... he owned a crime scene cleaning business and i watched multiple episodes w him in it.. He called a girl who committed suicide a “bitch” and was all around disrespectful and awful 🤧🤧
I'm a totally new subscriber and fan to the channel, and I have say I love you all. I get the humour, my brother was a cop in Ontario Canada. I've worked in nursing homes, mental health wings as a security officer at the hospital in my home town, so I get like I said I get the humour to ease the stress. You are all awesome and I have massive respect for what you do. Not many people could do it.
You guys are with your humor is not disrespectful. I just watched another one from California, he mocked the deceased. A suicide he was so disrespectful, my breaking point was when he was playing the answering machine and had nasty comments with that. I respect those that do your job. I work in the hotel industry and had to use the services twice of this kind. Last thing needed is someone making fun of a person who was depressed and ended their life. Never did I hear you guys do that, really the opposite you have remorse and respect. ❤️
I absolutely love Kyle’s humor omg. You gotta have it to do this job!! I don’t think I could ever do this job but man I have SO much respect for the people who do.
Finally found the maggot racing episode. You have to have a sense of humor in this line of work otherwise it will get to you quickly. I thought the race made light of a crappy situation. Lol. The dog situation was sad too. The fridge was yuck. Y'all are great to so all of this hard horrible work. I couldn't do it.
I love stepping on maggots and hearing the sound they make! Plop!! And if you leave them out long enough they turn brown and crunchy. Hahah really cool video ❤️
Just found your channel today. What you guys do is amazing.. i cant stop watching. Im amazed. Thank you for doing what you do. And thank you for sharing what you do. Im hooked !!
When I first starting watching this channel I thought omg how can these people be laughing and in such a good mood in these situations but I mean now I get it after watching nearly all your videos you’ve gotta keep sane somehow and yes it’s sad situation but if you were to be sad all the time on your job it would really mentally affect you I think you guys do an amazing job and love that you guys post videos for us to see what the process is so thank you👏🏻
What warms my heart about these guys is no matter what they have seen they still have a lot of empathy in their hearts for the human beings and animals in these horrific situations.
This was in my home town, Bradenton. It’s so strange to know that you guys are just around here cleaning up biohazards. You guys are awesome, keep up the good work!
The owner has such a great dynamic with her employees- and love that she wouldn't ask her employees to something she wouldn't do herself, too.
You guys need a tv show I swear.
You guys are so funny and charismatic!
They don't have a show, but i believe there is a crime scene cleaners series on Amazon Prime Video.

2:33 I have that exact same dog toy. It's from BarkBox (Morgan the oar fish). So glad the dog was rescued from there.
You guys have a tough job and need that humor. Total respect for what y’all do!
No, No, the smell for me would be a 10! Hats off to you guys. I am amazed at what goes into Bio decomp clean-up.
Can’t get enough of you guys!
I love this channel so much! 👍🏼❤️
Kyle. I absolutely love ❤️ that you have such empathy towards the animals in any of your cases. Thank you
I love how respectful all of your employees are. I remember watching another RUclips video of a man who does the same job but was making jokes about the victims (not maggots race lol) and said some really awful things.
what’s the other youtuber?
@@kellybellar981 yes!! I saw the video a year or two ago. I can't remember the name of it though. :/
Kyle is amazing and hilarious. Love the content. Kudos to all of you
oh my god kyle and laura are the best. this was my favorite episode. y’all are hilarious.
You guys made me smile with this episode. When its my time to go I hope people can find some light heartedness in it as well. You guys are amazing.
"thats insensitive Laura" "no it's not" 😂
Kyle is so cute!
Kyle: "maggots, they're so cuuute."
Laura: "I know."
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love love love you guys!!! ❤️
Bebe L'Strange They really are! So adorable and squirmy, 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@michaelshields7777 totally!!! 😂
I have a new appreciation for the little nippers! ❤️😂❤️😂
This is the only channel on RUclips where I can see a maggot race, of course I’m subscribed
Ahhhh, I enjoy maggots and brains with my morning coffee. Cheers to Spaulding Decon!
Invest in a portable air conditioner!!
Seriously I got a brand new one for less than $200 and I love it because my AC at my apartment sucks too.
That could be a hassle to clean/ decontaminate after leaving each site. 🤔
Oh yeah didn't even think about that 😭😭😭 oh damn
Tankgirl665 maybe they can have the ac from outside and attached one of those tube things to let the air in
I love stepping on maggots and hearing the sound they make! Plop!! And if you leave them out long enough they turn brown and crunchy. Hahah really cool video ❤️
Eating lunch watching this, I don't even give a care I love this stuff!
Kyle is so cute. You're awesome. I hope you get paid decent for this.
I couldnt do this job but I bet you all would be so much fun to work with. Love your personalities
“Hey we had a 3 way maggot race and Kyles maggot won”
“What”
Loved this video!! Quality was great 💕
I love Kyle says “that’s just insensitive Laura, I WANT THE FAT ONE!!!”
I think alot of you all for doing this work. God bless you.
Gallows humor is essential. Paramedic an attest to this.
I'm glad you can find ways to have some fun on the job.
I dont know how I found this channel but I love it so much
Welcome to our page!
This was in my home town, Bradenton. It’s so strange to know that you guys are just around here cleaning up biohazards. You guys are awesome, keep up the good work!
