  • Unfortunately a previous owner had cut the fringes off this rug for reasons unknown.
    It had then been discarded and was sitting in a garden mud pool for who knows how long.
    A beautiful rug emerged from all the dirt.
    I hope you enjoy the carpet cleaning process.

      Professional here certified by the IICRC
      I'm not positive on the exact weight but a soaking wet (presumably) wool rug like that one can easily ballpark 150+ pounds.
      Bigger sizes can approach 400+ lbs. Water is heavy and think rugs can hold a lot of it.

    A number of years ago I lived in the desert, in the city. I had an 8x6' carpet that designated my living room seating area. Every year or so, I wanted a good deep rinse so I would roll it up and take it to the self car wash. (Not the ones with the spinning brushes. The one with the spray gun and you wash yourself)
    I would then open the carpet up and lay it over the top of my car. I would use the spray water to spray down my carpet (to rinse the dust which was forever accumulating in the desert!)
    When the water was running free again, I would roll the carpet up and allow it to lean against the car till it drained quite a bit and then put it back in my vehicle on top of a plastic tarp, bring it back home and it was dry enough and warm enough that I could drape it over the little brick pony wall or fence and it would be dried out within a few hours.
    I never used any other setting there with the soaps or anything.... just the water setting. If it was often enough, it didn't require any kind of soap just a nice rinse.

    I really wish you would explain a bit more about the rug. Is it wool or polypropylène? Is it a specific type/provenance? What would be its age? And so on...

    Rug cleaning has to be one of the two most satisfying things in life. The other being power washing a hard surface such as concrete.

    The question is, how much water was used to clean a carpet?

    • @AhmedNovo
      @AhmedNovo Год назад +14

      Three times the carpet price is probably his water bill

    • @mhallicegaming
      @mhallicegaming Год назад +7

      Given they did this super inefficiently so it would look better on camera and last longer, way to much.
      To explain a bit, normally when cleaning any carpet you put it over a line or pole to suspend it. That let's the dirt and debris run off instead of getting trapped underneath like what happens in this video and why it took so long. A pressure washer against this rug in a normal cleaning would have used probably 3 cleaning cycles max if you were being really picky then a single cleaner run after laying it flat.

      I'm going to make this easy to understand the amount of liter of water used is the same amont as the African NEEDS to be hydrated entirely so it was put to good use in my opinion XD

      @@mhallicegaming It looks so much more impressive when they move the dirt through the meters long length of the rug, rather than just the few millimeters of thickness.

      @@hamjudo I'm not arguing with the asmr aspect of the video, it's what the channel does. Just explaining why so much water was used.

    How many rugs are these guys gonna have to bury in a pile of dirt and then massage it in only to then clean it in a RUclips video to convince everyone that that was a genuine rug someone actually had in their house if that thing was anywhere but on someone's floor in a dry house it would be completely deteriorated considering how wet and moist and full of fresh soil it is and is in every video. I've worked at a place temporarily that does this for large Persian rugs and never in my life have I seen one come in that has perfectly uniform colored dirt and stains evenly across the entirety of the rug. Complete RUclips favorite and disengenuous content.
