- This is a quick "single take" video of my electric stove, as requested by a viewer who had looked at • Dimplex sunningdale fire , my first look video from 3 years ago. The viewer wanted more up close footage and specs etc, so i quickly grabbed my iPhone 11 and uploaded to youtube for their viewing. The 2020 specs, i believe are still the same as my 2017 ones, so no changes in the model.
Thank you, a good comprehensive review.
Very useful video! Thank you for uploading. 👍🏻
Many thanks for a useful and enjoyable review, same situation as you but in the mountains of Cyprus, we’ve wood burner in the kitchen and a LP gas fire in the living room plus LPG central heating but the room we use mostly is a large entrance hallway with a big old inglenook type fireplace that has a dodgy chimney with two doglegs which is useless for smoke and would require a major rebuild for a flue. I was almost sold on a Dimplex Stockbridge Opti Myst stove until I watched this video now I’m going after the Sunningdale. Thanks again.
Your welcome. Still mightily impressed with ours 👍
After seeing this video, i ordered one , really looking forward to getting it
Thanks . We use ours all the time 👍
Yes very useful
Thanks we will be getting one
Thanks great vid love the dogs
Yup they're pretty cool hounds 😁
Great review, very helpful........ Despite the constant moving around, which I don't usually tollerate very well!! But Thank You.🙂
Your welcome, sat here in my family room with the glow effect on now 😀
Hello I just bought one ours seems noisy is yours. Regards Dave
If the heater fan is switched on then yes....otherwise the volume of the noise of the "fire" can be turned up or down as you like. All fans will be somewhat noisy .
Hi, fire looks great! I have been thinking about one of these, I was just wondering how long does the loop last, can you notice when it loops back to the start? Thanks
Hi . To be honest the looping is so good I can’t tell you how long it lasts for . I don’t recall seeing the end/start ! When you switch the fire on there is a very brief screen shot of the Type of effect /style then off you go into the very good hd fire. We have it on most evenings when it is dark enough even in summer just for the ambiance. I would buy one again definitely.
@@gsd32i perfect thank you for your reply!
Bet you have heating on tonight lol I'm trying to work out dimplex where I'm pet sitting it'd gone cold, unbelievable for August lol 😆Dimplex, opti-myst one ? On off?. Thanks 😊
😂 live in jersey too . Weather is rubbish . Haven’t put dimplex on yet !
@@gsd32i lol how bizaar lovely Jersey 🇯🇪 😄
Been looking at these, would you still recommend it? Thank you
Definitely, in fact sat in front of my tv with it on now for the effect 👍
Thanks for the really good video. I'm quite keen to purchase one as well now having seen your video. I'm planning on using it to heat a room in an outbuilding that will need quite a lot of heating before use. How much heat does the stove emit? Is it likely to be able to heat a room properly?
Hi . My family room is about 5mx4m with a vaulted (open) ceiling …. So it’s a big ish open space . We use the heater to take the chill out of the room when needed and it warms the room up fine , but realise that it is basically an electric fan heater stuck on the bottom of a fake stove , which is very nice and we’ve had no issues with it and use the effect on it pretty much every day . A huge open space not sure how effective it would be ………
@@gsd32i Thanks very much for your detailed response. That does concern me then that it wouldn't be able to heat my room up properly with an "electric fan". As said, it is an outbuilding and I will need to heat the room up from around 1°C.
@@tonypiper2232 I think it would struggle ....but the effect is really superb.
Hi, great video it was very helpful. I bought one of these fires and have found the full fire vibrates when the fan heater is on and it creates a loud buffering sound that gets in your head. I'm wondering if this sounds normal and if yours does this too?
Hi. Had ours a number of years now and no such issue. Sure the fan makes a noise, but no more than others. Vibration seems to suggests that something is not right with the fan?
@@gsd32i yeah I'm thinking something is loose or not quite put together properly, will try to get a replacement. Thank you for replying.
How much electric does it use?
Hi, currently in the UK, it will cost about 36pence per hour if you have the low(1kw) heat selected, or 72pence per hour if high is used(2kw)
Are all the functions of the remote available on the stove itself?
Yes . Still use it every day . 👍
Hi can you tell me where you got your coffee table from please ? The one in wood and glass at the beginning of your video Thanks Gary
hi, i purchased the coffee table from the below listed company where i live some 12 years ago, so no idea if they still supply them. i do not have the name of the manufacturer . The supplier was

Hi I believe that it’s :
Product model number SNG20
Use ours most days .... in fact watching Netflix in front of it now ! Happy new year .
Thanks for information have a happy new year too
Hi, which Gazco fire do you have? :-)
Hi, not sure of the name as we have had it for 13 years! Possibly a Huntingdon 40 balanced flue type. Sorry can't be more accurate!
@@gsd32i that's fab - thank you!
Hi where did you get your TV speakers from please
Hi . You’ll have to pop along to your local Bowers and Wilkins supplier . Had them for some 11 years , fabulous speakers , but not cheap!
@@gsd32i Appreciated
Is the fan noisy? Thanks
Sorry I have just seen that you have said that it is not overly noisy but you will hear it 👍 thanks
Yes it makes a noise but any fan heater will. Has it bothered us, nope.
How long is the lead/plug on this?
hi about 1.2metres , but i suspect you can get a longer one from an electrical shop as its a push fit into the back of it.
@@gsd32i Thank you that’s a great help 😊😊 just getting my electrics sorted before I order it. Thanks for the helpful review too 👍
House looks as if it’s made of toffee apple sticks, horrible new builds made of crap!
Even better we get to lick the walls 👍
