It's just that a Linux-based HarmonyOS distribution would allow, even if unofficially, to manually patch the OS (e.g. add custom driver files) to make every device work, including lots of specialized or just old devices (like my laser printer from 2010s which still works quite well) which have Linux drivers, but not HarmonyOS drivers (that's a different story, see their Kernel Abstraction Layer docs for that)

Yes, Vulkan API support for platform game ports, Linux ABI compatibilities translate apps and games to native HarmonyOS Next apps and games. Platform supports major game engines like Unity, Unreal Engine and Cocos, among others will be added. Stay tuned on that in 2025+

your answer is 3. You don't know. HarmonyOS Next version, closed distro here for Huawei PCs only based on open source OpenHarmony which itself derived from open source Huawei LiteOS, I have said millions of times. It's not based on Linux nor Android.

This looks so nice
Oh yes, even in pre-release Beta state, can't wait! Once those video output drivers are sorted.

A research on wikipedia would worth. It's using a custom microkernel, however it's (could say so) compatible with Linux drivers
