Wow, the best airport movements video I have watched in a long time. Never been to Jersey, but have actually flown on all those types except the Trislander. and actually on three of those individual aircraft, absolutely fabulous! Thank you.
Many thanks, lovely memories of my local airport. I miss so many of these things; British Midland were great for the Island, and that was my favorite colour scheme on my favorite plane of theirs, the Fokker 100s. The great days of our not-quite national carrier Jersey European. The sight and sound of the tri-islanders - I never liked travelling in them , but Jersey Airport just isn't the same without them! I certainly don't miss the ATP's - they were right old dogs, you always felt you were on an old plane which was trying to look modern, whereas the fokker friendships just did old in style. I miss hearing the screamy turbo-props.
Lovely collection of regionals. A lot of which remind me of Glasgow in the mid to late 90s. I love those British Midland Fokkers. They were a great airline.
Lovely footage. I used to visit Jersey every year up until the early 2000's. Always had a few hours on the viewing deck at the Airport as there were so many different types of aircraft that came in and out.
I worked for British Midland for three summers on the weekends as a teenager, 1998-2000. This video brings back memories spent on those long hot summer days at the airport! We also used to service the Braathens and Lufthansa 737s amongst other airlines - I used to do baggage handling and also cleaning the cabins of the aircraft. My favourite must have been the British Midland Fokker 100 :) Great video, thank you for sharing!
The Trislanders were awesome. Always sounded like a squadron of Lancasters. An interesting mixture of British Airways Landor, Word Tails and the looks-the-same-as-everything-else current livery as well.
Back in the days when British Airways actually served the entire country and not just Heathrow! The Dash 8's in BA livery of course actually being operated by Brymon Airways of Plymouth.
Flown extensively on inter-island hops - single pilot operated. An excellent aircraft, perfectly suited for the Channel Island area.Pilots flying those routes were doing high cycle rates - Jersey to Guernsey was approx 10- 15 minutes, typically at 1000 -2000 feet.
The BAE.ATP 0:38 was in my opinion not a very attractive aircraft. Weird up swept wings with wide spaced high slung engines. The wings look massive for the type of plane it is. Looks like they took a bunch of spare parts and made an aircraft.

Takes me back to endless summers doing load sheets for ATPs, BAE146, DC9’s. Great stuff. If only someone had captured footage of the Tristar!
This video brings back happy memories of summer Saturday afternoons spent on the spectators balcony at JER
2:38 BA should’ve kept those world tails longer than they did , those tail schemes are just masterpieces
I didn’t know you watch runway action lol
Not in the opinion of Margaret Thatcher

Great video! Saturday afternoons were always a challenge with the amount of air traffic that went to Jersey!
They still are!

Such a fabulous video absolutely awesome ..so enjoyed this thanku so much love an god bless x
@11:39 what a hard DHC-8-Q300 landing wow the shocks went down so far!!!
Its a 200
It’s a -300 all of BA’s Dash8s were -300’s (Brymon Airways)
Really wasn't aware, that KLM and BA were ATR customes ever- astonishing!
KLM uk to be exact, they used to be Air UK, KLM had a majority share in them & eventually had 100%
The ATR’s in BA livery belonged to City Flyer Express who were a franchise carrier for BA.
Very busy Airport 💯💯💯
Some good stuff there. Would be even better if anyone out there has something similar from 1983.

Those a320 and 737s dont have much runway left on takeoff, only around 150-200 metres!
Didn't the Jersey European logo look like a plan view of a B-2 bomber.
For anyone who don’t know
Jersey is a channel island that located in Channel Islands and on French Bay.
It's in the english channel, not on a french bay ;)
Jersey is in the Bay of St Malo which is in the English Channel
@@beechlad3541 its definitely not in the bay of st malo 😂😂😂 i live in jersey m'boy
@@purepvmer1275 If you look on a map, it is clearly in the bay
@@teepicgamer7374 my guy, I live here. It’s referred as in the English Channel not the “bay”
Lots of Shorts!
8:34 anyone know what plane that is just curious and it looks cool
BAe 146
@@kevinmcginn8712 thank you
What plane is that with the triprops?
Britan Norman Trislander, odd but awesome looking thing

Its a busier airport than I thought.
One of the busiest airports in the world for its size in the 80s
@@keithhamilton1972 watch the tumbleweeds nowadays though. A sad shadow of what it once was.
In the 70's and 80's Jersey Airport was either 3rd or 4th busiest in the UK, each year it used to alternate with Manchester Airport.
Where is Jersey Islands?
😍😍😍😍😍😍
11:55 what's type of that plane? so unique
Britten-Norman Trislander
BM used to look so smart, before they over to the silly lower vase type and design you could barely see, the start of the rot
Bigger variety of aircraft back then now it's just easyjet
In the summer there’s lots of variety here

Hehehehehehehehe first
So many angry and ugly looking planes 😂 They remind me of wasps and flying cardboard boxes
Duller than a weekend in Scunthorpe
