This video really hit the spot! I'm from Melbourne, Australia and until March 2020 for about 2.5 years I was living in London and travelling a whole bunch! I was a binge drinker, partier, smoker and everyhing bad! Covid made me have to move back to Australia, where i've been now in lock down for 5 months..... I picked up running during isolation as away to not feel like a tomato... At the beginning i could barely run for 5 minutes.... Since about may when i started running, I've accomplished multiple 5kms and 10km runs, a 15km run and even a half marathon! I've quit smoking and have gone sober and am the healthiest i've been! I love love love love running, and Strava... you're spot on about it! it's so positive and real. Just discovered your work and you've got a new follower/subscriber! You're the man!
I gotta admit I started following you on Strava a while ago because almost none of my friends are constant with the running. Seeing people like you keeping on running motivates me. Also, I loved your work before all that. Keep on creating things like this Jack. Love from Galicia!
My goodness dude this was fantastic. As an ex-nike run club user who has more recently stopped tracking his runs, you've got me wanting to jump over onto strava. Also shout out the homie Eric Floberg 🤙
This was amazing to watch!! I ran an ultra in AZ and it absolutely owned me, but this is a good reminder for me to take advantage of the city's emptier streets while I can!
You're so right! Strava IS a social media platform that encourages all without the potential for negative reactions! Great video Jack! It's my favourite yet!
Great job! It's great to recognize all of the areas I usually run. Looking forward to checking out the map as I rarely go above 34th St on the East Side as I hate running on the streets :)
This is the positivity we need right now! You’ve got my Strava follow! Also you know you’re in tune with the running world when you’ve got the Tinman hat! 😂👌🏽
Awesome, congrats on the run! I thought that sounded like a cool idea - run around your city - until I mapped out my city, and realized it would be over 90km. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Fantastic video. I get what you are saying 100% I live miles away from NYC but are super proud of my own pen strokes around Central Park have run it a couple of times. The one I am most proud of though is a 6-mile run from Badwater towards Furnace Creek.
I just switched over from Fitbit (recording into a void) to Strava (where my dad likes every activity I do). Definitely prefer it there and it's so motivating to log more runs and cycles.
Funny seeing this today. Today, I posted on Strava for what will be the last time, indefinitely. I signed off of all other social media platforms years ago because of that bad feeling you talked about, and lately Strava has started to evoke the same feeling. In the same way that Instagram ignites the urge to convey an unrealistically epic life, Strava can ignite an urge to train in a way that isn’t realistic, or even healthy (nothing can undermine the prescribed easy run like the pursuit of the Strava segment). That’s my experience, anyway. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the recap of your run. Keep it up.
EPIC-congrats on the ultra. I miss racing/running with other people. I love strava, but i do think it can lead to the comparison trap just as much as other SM platforms.
I've been rehabbing a bad knee since late 2019, but still wanting to run a marathon one day. Super inspiring and makes me want to start using Strava again!
I have never trained myself to be in the ultra marathon. But as much as I wish to run and take tour of the city at everyone's pace. Even as a trained martial artist, I'm motivating myself to run longer full of smile. But I subscribed to your channel, please keep this up and making everyone positive. Note I am a New Yorker, Japanese-American person here living a Japanese lifestyle, outdoor enthusiast, hobby photographer, and a avid illustrator. Being in shape is not only about getting in shape but how I transform myself into caveman within.
Awesome! Well done Jack. I live in Cape Town, but I have also done my fair share of running and biking in Manhattan - and elsewhere around the world. And yes, Strava is an awesome way to record and share those memories. Thanks for the video. I am following you on strava! And thank you for raising money for #BlackLiveMatter!
Nearly 6 years on Strava but even there I had to go private because 'kudos' feels like a chore just like FB did. Thanks for sharing your run though. I'd love to run that loop sometime.
Okay hear me out... moment running sling? Something for the phone or small camera... waterproof... light... I know a few people who could help promote it 😜
Jack dude you are such a fantastic storyteller! I’m sure I’ve commented that before but this was awesome. Makes me want to get back to running, Strava really is the only positive social media platform. This should be sponsored! 💪🏻 Good work and thanks for raising money for #BLM! ✊🏼
Fantastic video, Jack. Thanks for sharing! PS Strava trumps everything not just because it’s positive / uplifting but because it’s real. It’s not really curated.
Love how New York has the most Covid cases and meanwhile everyone is still outside no mask running an ultra marathon and enjoying the outdoors 😂😂😂 not just Talking about Jack literally only a few people with mask around them .... I wish someone would make a real video on covid and how Americans are careless! Funny how when this first started we had the least cases and everyone stayed home and everything shut down and now we have the most cases and people are out even more 🤯😂
Jack Coyne completely missing the point Jack! And who gives a rats ass if you got tested you can get it at soon as you walk out the test facility? I’m confused how people are acting like we haven’t lost over a million Americans due to this petty virus
Awesome accomplishment Jack! Great job. And love the groove you’re finding with the channel (and appreciate the cameo)✌🏼🌱
💪💪💪
"The movement of your body becomes like a pen stroke as you try and leave the most interesting line possible on the earth." Loved it.
Thanks my dude. Thanks for inspiring me
That's Bourdain levels of good

That's crazy run. congrats man! Never heard of strava but it's nice to hear there's a positive community on the internet for once LoL
This video is awesome! I loved it!!!
Class video man, hope you're doing well.
Strava also has the epic heat maps that show you all of your runs (or everyone’s) layered to make a collage. By far the coolest feature
I need to try it!
I think of the success of TikTok and think of how Beme could've been that.
i had no idea running around manhattan would be exactly 50k. well done.
I've been rehabbing a bad knee since late 2019, but still wanting to run a marathon one day. Super inspiring and makes me want to start using Strava again!
I wish I was anywhere near NYC so I could be involved in this tbh! Such a fun challenge
