If i cant barge into a random grandpas house and get told about how his niece almost took down Cynthia but the niece's Arbok sneezed making it miss its Sludge Bomb... than i dont want to be on this planet anymore... Also rummage through his trash for a metronome his niece threw away.

This is definitely something I've been thinking about lately. Like, the games are designed as if we are in our world, but Pokémon were added in - not in a world in which Pokémon have been around for hundreds of years.
For example - why are we taking a plane to Kitakami? Pokémon that are capable of teleporting have existed since the first generation.

They could add more lively environments, and world building landmarks. Give us something to marvel at! It's always neat to see the different regional environments in every game. Very cool! And anything that adds to the lore is definitely a bonus! 😊

One thing to do to fix the worldbuilding make anicent ruins just like the old games! It added so much to the lore.

I agree! Not having as many deep caves and ancient ruins have really dulled the environmental storytelling aspect I think

    • @mrbubbles6468
      @mrbubbles6468 2 месяца назад +3

The thing is, they have just about as many ruins and caves as they always did. Problem is there is never a reason to really look any more as the reason to do so was the Legendaries were found there. But now those are far more plot and story related so are given much more time and focus elsewhere outside of caves.

@@mrbubbles6468Last cave that comes to mind first is the SwSh straight path tunnel. I can barely remember Scarlets but I think it was mostly just a thick straight tunnel. Not including Cover Legs intro tunnel.

They need to add more houses and civilization outside of cities and towns. Actually being able to enter.
Super hard to believe every road in Paldea is made of DIRT, especially when they gave us a literal CAR Pokémon along with all the other motor vehicles in the world.
There is also not a single graveyard in Paldea, but again, has Pokémon with literal gravestones on its head.
Every area besides Levincia feels empty and even Levincia has like 2 things to do tops💀

You can always tell the difference between someone who exclusively plays Pokémon and someone who plays a variety of games lol I'm of the exclusive variety. Haven't touched a single game that wasn't Pokémon since like 2016. It's so nice and freeing to not be able to compare these games to any others and just recognize that while they do need work, they all have their own charm as well. I'm currently replaying all of my Pokémon games in preparation for whatever comes next, and I find myself missing Gen 9 at times since not touching those games since February. Because even though they have their drawbacks, they also have their charm.

Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon had loads of NPC side quests - so many, in fact, that it occasionally got annoying when random NPCs would interrupt you when you're trying to get somewhere! But they were really cool and definitely made Alola feel more alive. The quests all had their own mini storylines that reminded me of episodes of the anime. I'd definitely like to see this feature return, though it would be better if you had to talk to NPCs to initiate the quests so that they don't interrupt your exploration.

Mostly, I just believe Pokemon needs more landmarks, specifically memorable landmarks. There should be landmarks with some sort of backstory behind them to justify their existence within the region. For instance, the Pokemon Tower was built in Lavender Town to honor Pokemon that have passed or away. Or Snowpoint Temple which was built to house the legendary Pokemon Regigigas. They both have a purpose for existing which makes them much more memorable which in turn makes the region feel more alive. Bringing back locations such as those would make Pokemon regions so much cooler.

I don’t think the game devs are inept. It’s more the time crunch they’re in. The biggest flaw with the Pokemon game franchise is their release schedule. And it’s the way it is because of corporate greed. Pokémon is a business after all. Until they start putting quality over dollars it’s never going to change. And why would it with how much money they made from SV? They can just continue pushing our mediocre games and people will keep buying them because it’s Pokémon and we love it. It’s a viscous cycle that needs broken

One of the things that bother me is that we don’t know how Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova are doing so many years after their first appearence. I mean, the technology in the Pokemon World has CLEARLY improved a lot. For example:
how has Kanto been doing since Team Rocket was defeated? Have regional forms popped up since then? Is Professor Oak still alive?
has Johto modernized since the year 1999? It’s been 25 years, cities grow and expand in less years than that, have new regional variants appeared?
what about Hoenn? Have they figure out a way to deal with the constant Kaiju Battles between Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza? Have regional variants appeared
What has Sinnoh been since Team Galactic was defeated? Have the Space Time portals brought more fallers/time travellers to Sinnoh? Have new towns and cities appeared? Where’s Cyrus? Has Saturn kept his promise to rebuild Team Galactic into something better? Have Regional forms appeared in Sinnoh? Is Professor Rowan still alive?
What has Unova been up to since Team Plasma been defeated? Where’s Ghetsis?! Have regional variants appeared in Unova?

I agree I would love to see Pokemon Red 2 and Green 2, Gold 2 and Silver 2, Ruby 2 and Sapphire 2, Diamond 2 and Pearl 2 and Black 3 and White 3. I would love to see a sequel to Red and Green that is set 30 years in the future Im pretty Kanto has modernized considerably since 1996 and new Pokemon have emerged in Kanto.

    • @juanmanuelcardona19
      @juanmanuelcardona19 2 месяца назад +1

@@Eric-gp3hi one of the themes of Gen 1 was the pollution going on in Kanto because of Team Rocket, so maybe after so many years, Kanto became eco friendly and pokemon like Grimer, Muk, Koffing and Weezing adapted and have different forms now. For example, Grimer and Muk moved to Cinnabar Island’s volcano and became Fire/Rock types while Koffing and Weezing became Fire/Poison Type. Basically they became Magma Pokemon like Slugma.
I could see Lycanroc getting a Rock/Ghost type Kanto Regional Form based on Hachiko. Maybe we could give Golduck a Water/Psychic type evolution.
Maybe Nidoran and it´s evolutions became something like Rock/Ground type, Steel/Ground type or Fighting/Ground type, or Steel/Fighting Type.
Maybe Venonat lost the poison type and became simply bug type and when it evolves into Venomoth it becomes Bug/Flying type.
I´m guessing all those caves in Kanto that we explored in Heartgold & Soul Silver or Let´s Go Pikachu/Eevee have been turned into tunnels that trainers can use to travel between cities safely, so Pokemon like Geodude, Graveller, Onix and others had to find new environments to live in, so Geodude and it´s evolutions moved to places like Cinnabar Island and became Rock/Fire Type while Onix might have moved to high places like Mt. Silver and became Rock/Ice Type and when it evolves into Steelix it becomes Steel/Ice Type. Maybe Zubat lost it´s poison type and it became Flying/Dark Type
Maybe a pre evoution of Tauros and Miltank is found in Kanto now and the Male pre evolution evolves into Tauros while if it´s female it evolves into Miltank.
Maybe there could be a pre evolution of Kangaskhan and we eventually find out that the pre evolution becomes Cubone when it loses his mother, but when it doesn´t it becomes a Male or Female Kangaskhan.
Maybe Ponyta and Rapidash lost the Fire Type since they are no longer threatened and Ponyta became a Normal type and when it evolves it grows wings and becomes a Normal/Flying Type and becomes pretty much like Pegasus from Greek Mythology.
Maybe because of the lack of pollution in Kanto, Gengar lost the Poison type and became a Ghost/Dark Type or Ghost/Fairy Type instead. I could see a story arc in a Red 2 and Blue 2 where the Radio Tower is now abandoned because there are too many irritated ghost Pokemon inside the tower and the lack of pollution made Gastly and it´s evolutions lose the poison type and gain the dark type instead.
I could see the Kantonian Farfetch´d getting an evolution that becomes come kind of Spanish Knight instead of a british knight and it becomes Steel/Flying Type when Farfetch´d evolves.
I could also see Parasect getting a new evolution that turns him into Bug/Ghost type.
I could see some Cubones that found peace with their lives instead of being depressed and they evolve into either a Ground/Fighting Type Marowak or a Ground/Steel Type Marowak.
Maybe some Noctowls have moved into Mt. Silver and they became Flying/Ice Type to survive in the freezing environments.
Ps: The reason I made most poison type Pokemon lose their their poison part is because in the modern world anything that is poisonous and harmful for the environment is usually sanitized pretty quickly, our society has become very eco friendly in the last decade and I don´t think it would be any different in the Pokemon world, so since the environment lacks pollution many Pokemon would lose their poison and they would adapt into a new variant to survive. let´s not forget that Pokemon like Grimer, Muk, Koffing and Weezing are associated with Team Rocket and they would be hunted down simply because they wouldn´t be seen as good Pokemon. Something similar has happened in our world with a certain symbol that a certain German chancellor used during a certain period of time to rise to power. His symbol is seen as evil to this day and in the Pokemon world, anything associated with Team Rocket would be seen as bad, so eventually these poison types would have to adapt to survive
I could see Johto modernizing their cities like Cherrygrove City, Violet City and Ecruteak City A LOT making them into modern high tech cities
I could see Ledian getting an evolution that turns him into a Bug/Fighting Type resembling a Super Sentai with 4 arms with white boxing gloves.
I could see Ariados getting another evolution that turns it into a Bug/Psychic Type.
Maybe Stantler gained a new evolution making him Normal/Psychic Type.
Maybe Sunflora gained a new evolution as well making it a Grass/Fire Type.
Maybe Donphan also gained a new Evolution turning it into Ground/Steel type.
I believe that since Johto has a lot of Ninja lore there could be a Greninja form that could be Water/Poison Type or Water/Steel type
Can´t think of much more for Johto or Sinnoh
I´m guessing Sinnoh became super modernized. Their Pokedex would remain mostly the same, but I could see regional forms in Sinnoh, like for example.
maybe Hippopotas and Hippowdon adapted to live in water environments and became Ground/Water type.
Maybe Torkoal also adapted to live in the waters of Sinnoh and became Water Type.
Maybe Seviper gets a new evolution that turns it into Poison/Dark Type.
I could see Digglet and Dugtrio adapting to the freezing temperatures of Mt. Coronet and becoming part Ice Type
I think the Hisuian forms would make a comeback like Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark and Hisuian Braviary amongst others.
That´s all I can say about Sinnoh, the rest of the other regions are already very modern and I don´t think Unova would change much. Would there be new regional variants? I mean, yeah, I guess so , but I ran out of ideas for regional variants, lol.

I love that cafe-building idea, and maybe the NPC wants you to go out and catch a Miltank or a Milcery to help out. Maybe a pokemon that can use Life Dew to add refreshment, and then each new addition to the cafe adds new options for you to buy. Then those drinks can act in the same way as the curry or sandwiches of the recent games

I’ll be honest, I have mixed feelings about SV’s world building. On one hand, I feel SV has added more to the Pokémon lore as whole than any game since ORAS. SV makes the “pokeglobe” feel real. We get answers to why master balls are rare, we learn about interactions between Paldea, Sinnoh, Johto, and Kitikami, and we got to see a new side to Unova and follow up in a way with some characters.
But Paldea, I have no idea what the region is for. And you’re absolutely right, the towns suck. When I picture Paldea, I can’t think of how such a country/region could function because they’re missing roads! I respect how much SV added to the world as a whole, but idk how it forgot to build up Paldea. I agree with a lot of what you’re saying.

I feel like they should've went to HD-2D instead of 3D. Granted there are some pretty places in X/Y and SwSh like the giant crystal sun dial or even the illuminating mushroom town. (Forgot their names.)
Though the biggest issue is just the amount of time GameFreak has (or what TPIC allows) to make a game in general. Thankfully they're taking an extra year so that's nice......though I wish they'd just stick to making ONE game so that way they don't have to deal with this extra work, though that will never happen.

It isn't even multiplayer, it's PVP... For example why are there so few trainers with 3+ pokemon in the game? It's bad enough double battles barely exist with the only exception being the rap gym, but we can never be ambushed with an opponent with 12 pokemon not just because ambushes don't happen but because only our rivals even bother using 5-6 pokemon.
What's worse is how many "students" are like 35-80 looking with NOTHING to show for it... You honestly expect someone makes it to retirement age as a trainer with no possible way of earning income because they only have a level 5 seedling and nothing else? If I made it to 60 with one pokemon it should at least be level 35 and gathering enough cash for a sandwhich a week, realistically almost no trainer should have fewer than 2 pokemon in modern era to keep one combat ready for defense outside of childhood, we also never see anyone attacked by pokemon and it's weird, also we need cliche villains back in the game fighting for turf again, like imagine if team Star was out taking turf...
On that note, how does anyone form a gang with unique pokemon types if it's supposed to be so damn hard to catch more than 1 pokemon? Like where is that guy trying to fit in with his level 5 machop and a level 25 pidgey or oddish trying to be a black belt like his buddy's?

I do think Pokemon needs some serious work with its worldbuilding. I do think you are at the right path they can add more lively npc's and environments. I miss the landmarks and locations from earlier Pokemon generations such as Cinnabar Mansion, The Kanto Power Plant, Cerulean Cave and Seafoam Islands. For Gen 10 I would like to see them go back to the 2D sprite style and add actual landmarks and locations back to Pokemon. I really like landmarks like the Ruins of Alph and Burned Tower.

Just because Zelda and Pokemon are on the Nintendo platform, doesn't mean the two games are run by the same company.
However, Pokemon does need quality control and extra content for their open world dynamic.
Weird how everyone just compares Pokemon open world to Zelda.
There are more games to compare to.

Problem isn’t even the NPCs not being lively. The problem is in the old games if you walked past them they would interact with you. Being in an open world, they no longer stop you. You have to engage them. And ofyen if a player has a choice to avoid a battle they will avoid it. I remember a lot of the NPCs in earlier Pokemon simply because I had no choice but to fight them. In SV you can always avoid.
