This is a hilarious and classic bit by the Greaseman (Doug Tracht), a legendary radio comedian from the 70s and 80s. en.wikipedia.o... www.greaseman.org/
The Grease had talent and a whit that is as sharp as a scalpel. Stern is an idiot that has to shock people for notoriety. Stern’s name shouldn’t be used in the same context as ‘The Grease.’
Grease was great. Howard was so effing jealous.. Howard was really obnoxious back in the early 80s on DC 101, but then over the years he really improved his interviewing skills but always love Greaseman
Back in the mid 1990s, I worked as a concierge security guard in a condo, 4pm-12am. The Greaseman kept me entertained and I loved all of his skits. I hated that job, but I miss listening to his show.
I meet him at RFK stadium in the early ninties at a Redskin game. Cool dude. He gave my wife and i an autograph picture of himself on the good ship grease. Good times!
I loved the Greaseman, and especially his Sgt. Fury bits! Whenever I heard the ‘helicopters’ I knew I was in for a treat! It’s too bad he had to make that comment about James Byrd! 😢
I had the honor to meet grease in Safeway around 5 years ago. Funny how fast he went from Doug to Grease. Took time to take a pic and chat awhile. Awesome guy!
+hotdrumz Doug was and is still loved by all his fans. Its unfortunate that he was one of the first victims of political correctness and its powerful ability to destroy lives and livelihoods. Its only gotten worse over the years and has metastasized into a cultural marxism cancer that is now threatening EVERYONE'S freedom of speech. The US needs to bring back the restrictive laws on media ownership so the cartel of politically correct mega media companies are forced to divest themselves of their near monopoly of all media outlets.
hotdrumz... I'm Black and I listened to The Greaseman on DC 101 and yes "the joke" was in bad taste but Everybody in DC loved Grease! We all knew Grease talked about everybody. We still love you, Nino!
I was a regular listener in the early - mid 1980s and thought he did some fucking hilarious bits. The Punk, Toe Monster, and Carlos the International Terrorist - wild and fantastic radio! Grease (Doug) could sense what listeners would respond to, then he would dish it out. That age of radio is gone, as we live in a world where the craziness is real. You can look in the news and find it all, and the real deal isn't amusing. Yeah, but I still chuckle at the thought of deer hunting by jumping out of a tree and strangling the deer ('cept the fight would result in gamy meat).
I've got countless cassette tapes. I'd get the 10 pack of black Certron tapes from GC Murphys for a dollar and would hit record when I left for the bus in the 80s. I knew he was special and would never be imitated
I saw Greaseman live at Cool Springs Landing in Stafford, Virginia, 1985. He was there with a DJ named "Smash" who I would see from time to time on MTV. Funny guys, met and shook hands with both of then.
This was brilliant. Even though I grew up in Baltimore, I never really had the chance to get into the Greaseman. I couldn't care less about what it was that knocked him off the air or whether or not it was fair or not fair, but I do know that this little piece of radio was outstanding
I went to law school at Georgetown from '88-'91. The Greaseman was a ray of light during those years. I wish I could get an anthology CD or find a website to download all the SGT Fury Bits and also his Daddy/Ugly Women bits.
Have a listen to Sgt Fury and the Marine Corps Band. Classic stuff. Was listening to it on my way to work one morning. Nearly crashed my car I was laughing so much.
In Baltimore we all listened to the Greaseman…I have all of his cassettes….he was the best there ever was !!!!! Anyone else remember the guy that called Grease for an off the air conversation…..asked him if he remembered his first BJ…….and the Grease replied yes….and the guy got him, said “did you swallow or spit it out”……hilarious…..Doug explained, and it was funny!!!!
Charles Harris says Greaseman Was the best entertainment DC ever had...Trump needs to get outa sooner. . Lol God bless USA and all Design Masters Cabinet makers.. Miss you guy's 1984.
This guy was the best I've ever heard, hilarious and original.stern couldnt wash his drawers

I met him at a gun show in upper Marlboro in MD. He was shopping parts for an 870. Good people.
Grease was the best. DC has never been the same.
TheDR isin True! D.C. was never the same after Grease left.

Decades before the term "politically correct" was coined it was in poor taste to joke about people being murdered.

That would probably be Adam Smasher. He was on DC101 also
I hope wherever he is, the Greaseman is well and happy!
