Can chalkiness be linked to any nutrient so it can be controlled?

Ann Mae - Lemon Meringue is a delicious mango from Myanmar also known as Po Pyu Kalay. Lemon Zest was originally a seedling of PPK. I have heard many people say they prefer Lemon Zest, describing it as sweet citrusy flavor with areas which remind them of orange sherbet and other sweet lemony parts of the fruit. I personally prefer PPK/Lemon Meringue. Maybe because they come first, or maybe because it was the first delicious mango I ate after moving to Sarasota. They are both great fruits. Lemon Zest is a larger fruit though. For a smaller yard, Lemon Zest might be the best choice. Our tree is slow growing but productive.

i think there is something to the idea that the earlier mangos are sweeter in general. maybe once the rains come they get more watery, and more fibrous. and less sweet/tasty.
