So bloody talented!! Love his attitude and work ethic. He’s one of my absolute favourite track and field athletes. 😀
A lot of Caucasians look up to him but let’s be honest a white person will never be on an elite level of sprinting. It belongs to West Africans and Afro Caribbean people.
@@keysunlocked466 just like only white men have won Worlds strongest man different ethnicities are definitely more skilled in certain things typically.
Them boys sure do hate Mathew Boling because of his skin color. The same ones who are always crying about "supremacy" for any little thing.
@@keysunlocked466 just like "Tyrones" will never own or form any sports leagues. It takes an elite IQ to do something like that.

Love what he said about his competitors the most. We are all family in track and field even when we compete.
The coverage around this athlete is insane. He's good but so many are actually winning medals already.
Cause hes off the stereotype
Yeah i’ve been wondering why he gets all the hype when he never seemed the best since high school

@@MalleusIudaeorum You mean One of the best, especially at the time of my comment. He wasn’t the best. Still isn’t the best at his age but he did do well the past few weeks

Last year was an extremely long season for all. Boling received a lot of unwarranted criticism , but one fair assessment was that his form regressed over the season. Coach Caryl Smith-Gilbert will definitely get him right and prepared for another long season of competition (NCAA, US Nationals, and World Champs).
You are right, Daniel!
It seems like this year is going to be GREAT!
He just jumped 8.25m yesterday, it would have been the bronze medal at the Olympics, insane!
IMHO, he is built like a 400 guy, but the key for him is to relax. Even in the 200 and 100, it seems like he tries to stay in the drive phase. He has to learn to get to top speed and glide.
I’d love to see him compete in a decathlon. He’d be a monster.
Yep! I am not sure how he is with the pole vault but the decathlon seems perfect for him.
What I always said. He seems to be a good all round athlete. 100m and 200m are primetime however he would need to improve significantly just to make the team, the American talent pool is one of the broadest and best in the world so he may struggle.
You look to be over 50, Philip. We among senior athletes would love to see YOU compete in a decathlon at the Masters level.
@@weedermann I was considering it, but I barely have time to pole vault.
Man stop the press. Have anyone on this channel ever heard of a young man name Erriyon Knightton? If so you can’t deny he’s the future of track and field. He was the only 17 year old male athlete participating in this years track and field Olympics.
Erriyon and Laird are pro so nobody gonna have to mess with them in college.
Knighton is special. He's doing things that have never been done before.
Lookout for Jaylen Brown... Same high school class as Knighton has beaten has few times before.i think he has 1 year of highschool left

This dude is INSANE
I’ve been a huge fan of Matthew Boling and I barely even watch track unless it’s the olympics. He and Katelyn Tuohy. Something about them is just so entertaining and makes you wanna support them.
Have you watched Newbury Park high school cross country team? Two sets of brothers, The Sahlman brothers Colin and Aaron and the Young’s Leo and Alex went 1, 2, 3 and 4 the the state cross country for California which took the teams from the Northern Section and from the Southern Sections combined. No team has ever accomplished this and three of the four are juniors.
So if you like Katelyn you’ll love what these guys will do in the coming years, it’s like four Katelyn athletes together.
By the way Jenna Hutchins’s who is a year behind Katelyn has broke Katelyn’s 3 Mike record.
@@readec.gloeckner5923 i’ve watched a video about the newbury park highschool team but not yet the latter. Will look into that rn!! I really appreciate it.

They're white?
@@Maddolis to me it doesn’t matter what color, race, natural origin, it’s the fact that they were born with the right amount of muscle fibers and in top of that they put in the right work ethic to get where they are.

@@Dave-lr2wo Track and Field is niche. Lets face it most sprinters play football (at least in the US).
I really hope that he can qualify for the olympics next games. I haven’t heard anything about his freshman year I am going to research it now
To my understanding, it was an underwhelming season for him. People say his form regressed and maybe he was overworked / burnt out. His sophomore season has been better, really good up until actually just recently. He's getting better and still young. Time will tell if he's the "next big thing" or not. I will def be rooting for him. The man to break Usain Bolt's records however hasn't been born yet, mark my words :)
His Freshmen year was actually 2020. It was cut short due to COVID. So technically he's in his Junior season. Him and Laird from LSU had some battles in the SEC championship.

You love Matthew Boling!!
Matthew is very good, and very well rounded... but the rest of the field is very good too.. and some younger ones are already on track to blaze better paths.. the difference between Matt and them, is Matt typically competes in more events.. the season is long.. and it definitely affects these guys, especially those who compete in more events.
Erriyon Knighton comes 4th in the Olympic final at 17 years old and has already run 19.84; the US talent pool is so deep right now. Boiling is good but he's not 'it'. He'll be the perennial 5th-6th place guy at the US championships.
Boling is a 400M STUD. He is very good at the 200M, and competitive at the 100M. But in the 400M he's top of the class. I'm not sure why his coaching took his focus off the 400M. Here he is dominating Randolph Ross (43.8 400m ) of NCAT on the lead leg for the NCAA indoor 4x400M. ruclips.net/video/fvFiSiijWzs/видео.html. Boling beat him by 2-3 steps to the handoff.
@@dennisrobinson8008 That was only cause Boling got to the 200 mark first. When you get to the break first with a lap to go in an indoor race, it's pretty hard for their opponents to pass. So Ross was trying to expend as least energy as possible while getting a solid leg for his team because he knew if he went too hard there was a high chance of him tightening up near the finish, his whole team relay would be fucked because one leg was bonked. Had it been an outdoor race, the result would have been much different.
...and repeat.
@@jacobrolen You guys so want him to be a short sprinter you can't see the obvious. You do realize he tightens up in the 100M and 200M as he strains and tries harder? This same extra grunt is an advantage in the 400M. BTW, the 45.5 is an INDOOR time. The 45.5 equates to 44.5 outdoors. On his lead leg against NCAA 400M Champion Randolph Ross ( 43.8 seconds ), Boling dominated him start to finish and handed off 2-3 strides ahead of Randolph. Randolph Ran a 49.9 indoors on this day, the winning NCAA indoor time was 44.7. Bolings 45.5 seconds was against lesser competition, we all knew he had at least a half a second in him against tougher competition. Watch his 400M races and watch how he responds to pressure in those races. Pressure and competition helps him in the 400M, where it hurts him in the 100 and 200M. He's a natural. Here goes the NCAA 4x400 Indoors where you can observe the lead leg in question. Boling split a 45.28 on that day. The lead leg is approximately 5m longer than a 400M race, so that 45.28 lead leg equate to 44.6 or 44.7 open 400M indoors - which translates into high 43's outdoors. ruclips.net/video/fvFiSiijWzs/видео.html Boling is a natural 400M guy. Tons of speed for it as well. He's a tough runner. Why did his coaching take Bolings focus off the 400M, and allowed Elijah Godwin to focus on it dropping his outdoor 400M from 46.5 to 44.7 seconds ( Elijah Performed in Olympics on mixed relays ). Georgia will have a tough 4x400M team this year.
@@jacobrolen He was not focused on the outdoor 400M last year, which is a fact. It's in him. The 200M will go well too. The 100M is too stacked, but if he gets his 60m down to closer to 6.50 he'll have a more formidable 100M.
Well said young man 👍
He is like a Greek God.
Imagine him in a Decathlon.
AWESOME YOUNG MAN
Dude is a beast
A force to recon with
Matt Boling is poised to be the face of American Athletics for the next generation. Even a modest track accomplishment will be sufficient for him to become the spokesman of our sport.
With his well spoken "Greek God" personality he will succeed at any post track endeavor he follows.
Lol never going to happen. He won’t even make the team considering the level of talent in the male sprints
He isn't that talented compared to other rising stars. Like Knighton, the 17 year old who placed 4th at the Olympics. Or Harrison who long jumps 8.44 at the same age. He could have a great career in multis, but it doesn't seem like he wants to
@@Brave-828 I'm not here to hate on boling he's clearly talented but you're right he's also very over hyped and personally I don't think he should try to go pro in the shorter sprints the 100m and 200m just have way to much depth the US team alone pretty much pushes Boling out of the worlds top 10 that's without factoring in sprinters from South Africa ,Canada ,Jamaica the UK and even Su Bingtain from China who's proven recently he can run in the 9.8s Boling hasn't run sub 20 or 10 yet and basically every county has 3 or 4 guys running just as fast as him so nothing is separating him globally aside from hype to even make a final these days you pretty much have to run 9.8 and 19.8 and he's not there right now however if he shifted his focus to the 400m and long jump or possibly decathlon there's no doubt in my mind he'll make a team but if I'm being completely honest in the 100 or 200m he'll never be that guy there's at least 16 people who consistently run better times with years left on their careers
Fahnbulleh, Knighton, and Laird all blow this kid away.
And you're poised to be a decent stand up.
heyyyy he gave coach neighbors that shoutoutt

I so want to be your cardio coach Matt because I believe you've got sub 44 speed and grit. You need low to no impact off track cardio working up to 15-mins then technique work aimes at not rocking or straining your upper body during your sustained high velocity at both the 200/400m.

Sounds like he's getting his head in the right space.
Stay humble, son.
Yes sir
you can't really say 'well- it was just an off day...' I remember when Martina Navratilova was dominating tennis- late 81- early 87, She was lazy before that and Nancy Lieberman started training her- Lieberman told her her goal should be to put in the work so that on your worst day- you WORST day, you still know you're going to win. Martina did and was virtually untouchable for 5-6 years- having streaks of 74, 58 and 54 wins in a row during those years and finishing 86-1 one year and following it up with a 78-2 season.
Good lad I know the feeling he has like a extra gear that most don't have. Physically at 14 I had it but know I had a problem and by 21 knew this extra gear was gone. So bye 29 I finally got confirmation on record that I had SVT that I first experienced aged 8.
Moral of the story is keep focused on your dreams and that focus will provide all you need. Morel of the story, genetically I had to adapt my way of life 99.9% don't so don't be lazy. At least I can remember elite fitness and experienced it
I had it too, lost it by being lazy. Gifted, never went all out in training, never had to.
One day it was gone and I just had a rare physique but nothing to show for.

I bet you think you know what you're talking about. You don't.
@@Dave-lr2wo Maybe not, but it's no secret that PED use is commonplace in the world of top level sprinters both for men and women. I think it something like 7 of the top 10 male sprinters of all time have gotten popped for PED usage. Even legend like Marion Jones have gotten popped. I don't hold it against them but it's foolish to assume that gear isn't part of their game plan with all the information that has been brout to light in the last decade.
Concentrate on your long jump!!! You have much better chances there IMHO
I'd like to see him jump more. He's got great potential in that event. But UGA seems to want him in all the sprints and sprint relays. An athlete can only do so many events.

He just got beat by not one, but three athletes who are faster and younger. This guy is by no means the future of track and field
Dope
All i Care about in races is to do better than last time
Matt is an exceptional sprinter and definitely has world class speed. But to say that he is the future of American sprinting is a bold claim. Especially since Terrance Laird and Erryion Knighton have had much more success than Boling. They have to give Knighton( probably spelt his name wrong) and Laird the respect they deserve. Unless Boling makes big improvements the likely hood of him making an olympic team will be very slim.
His only chance in sprints is the 400. He could definitely make Olympics and possibly medal in the LJ.
Deep down inside,I wanted to hate on this guy. But I cant because he is actually going to go far in track and field. We need someone to help make this sport alot larger. So continue to be the best. 😎 Im praying he continue to have a safe career.

Matt Boling is very good, most of his results are great. He was leading the World indoor list in the long jump and the 200 at one time. So noone can deny he is already World class.
But still:
1) He is the most covered - I would even say hyped - Track and Field athlete in his age group ever, despite Duplantis, Ingebrigtsen and Kaul, who are roughly the same age, have achieved much more already.
2) As of now, he always has declined during the season, even in the rather short indoor seasons. He has not been able to put up his best performance when it mattered most.
I really wish him the best and hope he will some day win some major titles. But I would tone it down a notch and stop describing him with superlatives and covering everything he does all the time.

I've heard about Matt before so I kinda know his results, but if you don't this video is boring since you can't really compare his results against other top tier athletes. Well, we are one year into the future since this video was posted and I don't see any improvement in Mr. Boling's sprint performance. Maybe he should bulk up a little and try the decathalon.
He's very talented. Similar speed to our aussie sprinter who has a PB of 10.01 with a +0.6 wind. However, like our aussie fella, Rohan Browning, I don't think either of them will medal at Worlds or Olympics. They are fast but not super fast.
Matt is good, no doubt. But Erriyon Knighton is younger, more accomplished, faster, and also seems to be a humble and likable person. But Erriyon also lacks that certain quality . . . Can't quite put my hands on it, but it's out there.
Knighton is too shy. Age doesn’t always equal success. In terms of speed in the 100m Knighton has never ran a legal sub 10 so technically boling is faster.
