Thank you team Red Bull for sponsoring and documenting this epic journey. Every week we get a glimpse into the psyche of a great team and Rosses passion and dedication to show the world that with a little (well a lot) of brawn and inhuman level of determination anything is possible. Thanks for continuing to motivate and inspire me and countless people to be just a little bit better each day. 💪🏻👍🏻
we all send our love to you Ross, whatever you're dealing with. As much as I want you to complete the GBS, if your family calls, then run to them. lots of love firing your way.
Sorry you had some bad news, super tough not to be with those that you love. The strength that takes is admirable. You have got this, one stroke at a time!
YOU are a cracking legend Ross!! I can't understand how you swim during the night and in the fricking sea? I can hardly swim in the local lake... I'm cheering for you boii. You also made me sign up for an Ironman 70.3 race next summer which is crazy. Love the vlogs, stay safe.
Great work mate! Watching your weekly videos has become a family thing in our my household. You should do a video on the crew, I'm curious to hear their thoughts.
I leave for Navy basic training on Tuesday, and I'll be rooting for you and keeping your determination in mind, Ross! I look forward to seeing you finish the journey after I graduate!
Said that from day one, north east of Scotland is going to be tough if not the toughest part of the great British swim. Glad to see you enjoyed the sunset when parked in Aberdeen for the night. Keep going big man!!
I'm going to be doing my first half Ironman in a couple of days and this was the perfect episode to help me get focussed. I'm sure I'll be thinking back to this to remind myself to concentrate on the process and not worry about the outcome. Keep going Ross, I'm really enjoying the episodes and I'm sure you can do it.
I'm watching you from my holiday in Crete Ross as I read your book! Huge inspiration matey and really hoping all is well with your friends and family. Keep pushing, you're going to make it!
Been following since episode one! First thing I do on a Thursday is check the video update. I do some long distance swimming and something that keeps me amused is..... try and sing some classic at school hymns ( even Christmas carols) it’s a very very weird tip but when you start thinking about it you end up with a little nostalgia and some very odd lyrics, always keeps me amused! But Ross in the words of dory.... just keep swimming , just keep swimming!!
Let see some Crew life! We know that its Ross swimming, and hes solo but more about support would be cool. How does he get his food, clothes and other items? Lets see the support structure!
Let's GOOOOO!! Ross, you are incredible how you keep at it and keep going. I can hear the yearning you have in your voice to get home and be with your family. I can't imagine how tough it would be to not be able to get out to be with your family during this hard time, but it's nice to know that they are pushing you on toward Margate. Cheers from Cincinnati.
Ross! You are an inspiration to any of us watching your videos. Your attitude is so inspiring, that it will get me up earlier next morning, just thinking of that one next stroke you will do (and i can't even crawl properly). Way to go and thank you!
Ross, you absolute Monster! Me and the Mrs have just completed the centurion for the first time in our front room. Any time we had a thought of giving up we looked at each other and reminded ourselves you were swimming your ass around the UK. Keep it going big man. Inspiring generations everyday. Hope to get meeting you soon ya mad bastard 💪🏻😁
Thinking about the process: There is a book called "Momo" from Michael Ende. It is an amazing story, but the one passage which stucked in my mind, since a read that book 20 years ago: “You see, Momo,' he [Beppo Roadsweeper] told her one day, 'it's like this. Sometimes, when you've a very long street ahead of you, you think how terribly long it is and feel sure you'll never get it swept.' He gazed silently into space before continuing. 'And then you start to hurry,' he went on. 'You work faster and faster, and every time you look up there seems to be just as much left to sweep as before, and you try even harder, and you panic, and in the end you're out of breath and have to stop - and still the street stretches away in front of you. That's not the way to do it.' He pondered a while. Then he said, 'You must never think of the whole street at once, understand? You must only concentrate on the next step, the next breath, the next stroke of the broom, and the next, and the next. Nothing else.' Again he paused for thought before adding, 'That way you enjoy your work, which is important, because then you make a good job of it. And that's how it ought to be.' There was another long silence. At last he went on, 'And all at once, before you know it, you find you've swept the whole street clean, bit by bit. What's more, you aren't out of breath.' He nodded to himself. 'That's important, too,' he concluded.”
Finding this July 2021, finally coming out of quarintine, post quarintine bod and even two years later this is major motivation to make myself a better me.
Keep it up fella, you are an absolute beast! When i was competing in my first full Ironman the other week,i thought of you doing what you do everyday, then it didn't seem that bad for me,thanks, you are a true inspiration.
I'm glad you didn't tell everybody what happened, just what you said was enough. Swim hard, swim fast and get home to your family. But seriously, swim around New Zealand next you will love it.
@@logicandreason2971 Yes I assume Redbull pays for everything. But with the crew for 140 days in wages alone is insane. Plus all the food and equipment... Could not be done without a huge sponsor like Redbull.
So I'm leaving this comment cause I know that ross will be sitting in the comments section after the video is up just filtering through comments to get his motivation on and keep on with his journey o the end.. hope this makes your day rossy (currently 146) comments are not a lot to scroll through so I would imagine he has gone through every single 1 lol
Man, you can do it...I'm here form episode 1 and I believe in you I really hope you make it...I admire you man it takes a lot of gut to do what you got into and I really hope you finish... Love from Slovakia
I predict it's going to take another 40 days of swimming for Ross which is just mind blowing. By then it will have been four months of open water swimming, incredible.
You’re a true madman’s madman! Keep slapping away at those waves mucker, there before you could count to a trillion💀 Legends are actually made of this...
Awesome video guys and great progress on the swim!!! I have a couple of questions! Ross how are your feet doing? Are they still borderline frost bitten? Also how are your hands? And lastly how is your skin health overall? I’m really curious what all that exposure to salt water has on the rest of your body. Cheers guys happy swimming! 👊
I know I am waaay late for this but I watched a video years ago about the box Jellyfish in Australia and they were covering the bare skin areas with women's pantyhoses/stockings and that little bit of protection on the skin stopped the jellyfish from stinging them, the way they explained it was the jelly fish tentacles pick up on the electric signals when they contact skin but the stockings prevent that, might be worth a try if you ever do a long distance swim again
Pain is Temporary. Legacy is permanent.
Keep going Ross
can we hear what the crew do everyday while you swim ? is it the same crew since day one ??

Ben van de Wetering it’s probably a sponsored by Redbull, but I don’t know how much that cost
@@logicandreason2971 Yes I assume Redbull pays for everything. But with the crew for 140 days in wages alone is insane. Plus all the food and equipment... Could not be done without a huge sponsor like Redbull.
