I thought Martha looks a lot like Kate too. And I noticed that the no meat thing seems to run in the family also.
Thank you, Martha, for explaining the allotment. I thought it might have been a community garden thing. Do you freeze or can any of your produce? Cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower are winter crops. Will you be growing those, or are the winters too severe there? There isn't anything like homegrown anything. So much more tasty than commercially grown. Working in the garden is also good exercise, plus you walk to it. You said you can't put up structures over a certain height. So the poly tunnel is allowed, not too high? Great job.
Thank you John, Anna, Martha and Agnes for helping out Kate.

Martha, it's funny you said that about your granddad growing a garden to see if he could do it. I believe your mom's a chip off the Ole block. 😊 She talks about how she is capable to do so many things. She said, she just tried whatever just to see if she could. Now we know where she gets it from. We love your mom so much and all of you youngsters and your families. Little Agnes is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your world with us. ❤😊🇺🇲 Susan Garman, Virginia, USA.

What a lovely video Martha Adam and Agnes. Your a special young lady Agnes,. Agnes definitely seems to enjoy her veg. This is something so good to see children eating. No wonder you are a very proud grandma Kate. Why wouldn’t you be. Nice well stocked allotment , the produce looks very good quality and tasty. Thank you all for your time. Very kind of you to share some of your time with us, and giving mum a little bit longer to recover. I am sure that will help her no end. I hope your feeling a bit easier as well Kate., enjoy those lovely flowers. If I grow Dahlias they get eaten by slugs . And they would never look like yours Martha. So I don’t even bother trying to grow them here. Shame as they are so colourful.. keep the good work up, it’s definitely worth your efforts.

Hey Kate, I hope that you are recovering from your illness! Martha, I really enjoyed your talk about allotments, and watching Agnes eat her favorite vegetables. Do you dry the flowers, bring them to your mom or take them to your home? Do you give the chickens and Eileen the greens from the beets? Do you can or freeze your vegetables? You have done wonders with that bit of land! Nice flowers and vegetables, Martha, Adam & Agnes!

Hi Martha, Adam and Agnes. It's me the lady who crocheted those baby clothes and blankets for Angnes 2 years ago.
I know allotments. When I was a kid there were allotments very close to our home. I always looked at it from afar. My parents didn't garden at all.
This is amazing. Look at all those cucumbers and tomatoes. It's so nice to see Agnes walk around and snack. That polly tunnel is amazing. Those leeks looked amazing. That's one if my favourite veggies. I grew things on my small balcony. Peppers, jalapeños and grew peas once. When you grow it yourself it tastes so much better. I love it to see more of your allotment in the future. It was nice to see you all. And Kate I know you're reading comments 😉 so take your time. Get well soon and if you need more time, take it. Love to all from the Netherlands ❤ 👋🏻 🇳🇱

November 25 2022: Martha how very wonderful that the family has this allotment. I wondered what that had meant. I do not have a veggie garden but when my children were little we have farms around us that we can go and pick veggies to some fruits like strawberries, apples , peaches and pumpkin patches. When my youngest one would go with his sister and I strawberry picking the farm we went to we rode on a flatbed while sitting on bales of hay and the farmer would drop off us off in the area to pick. My daughter and I would pick the strawberries and while my youngest was busy eatting them. I use to think that the farmer woulld need to weigh him first and then when we would return again! He definitely ate much more than he picked. What a very hearty lunch. I never thought of gravy to enhance the meals. Agnes is loving it. Panda? Thank you for a visit into your life style and the beautiful harvest. I have to look for the purple potatoes. Cheers.

Most Americans may have no clue about paying someone for garden space, unless they lived in a city.
Here in New York State in the Catskills, plenty of room for garden, if you don’t mind tilling through the stone. Lots of Stone!!!
Kate dear, sorry about your vertigo, been there until doc found the crystals in my ears were out of alignment, not had it since (knock on wood).

What a joy to see you, Martha, Adam, and Agnes!! I really enjoyed the allotment tour and everything looks wonderful. The views are so beautiful, as well! I’m sad to hear that Kate is still not feeling 100%, but I’m sure she’ll be feeling herself very soon. We have a fairly good sized back yard here in Indiana, and up until last year we had mostly lawn and a few trees. My husband started a vegetable garden last year, like everyone, and has expanded quite a bit this past spring, and, I know, that he would love nothing better than to make the whole yard into a garden, including the front yard! I would love see your allotment through the year as well as seeing what Anna and John are getting up to. I’ve missed seeing Kate but it’s been fantastic seeing Kate’s wonderful family as well!!! Thank you and take care!! 🥰

Thank you Martha and Adam for sharing your allotment, home and lovely daughter with us. Give your mum love from me. Agnes has the most lovely setting and family for her upbringing, as you live the family traditions with her learning effortlessly along the way. I live in a retirement community and have used part of my yard for a little garden plot, mostly fabrlc grow pots with varieties of tomatoes and squash, some peppers, cucumbers, garlic and many flowers. I am able to share a lot with my neighbors, many of whom are in their 90s and it is a treat to see their faces light up when I take over a container of Sweet 100s or Husky Cherry Reds, or Sun Sugar tomatoes. Have a great week!

Thank you for another family video. 😊 The allotment looks both wonderful and bountiful which is absolutely fabulous for the bunny named Agnes. Growing food is such a great thing to teach kids, there are chores but also a sense of accomplishment, experimentation and the delight of picking and eating right from the source; food should always taste that good. The container hat may catch on😄 and I think it's good for kids to get some fresh air and a little dirty playing in the garden. I love Sunday lunch, it's a tradition I miss a great deal. I'm in Canada (totally different zone - it's cold!) but I would love to know the varieties that have been unusual or successful for you; the flowers were beautiful too btw. You have done your Mom proud; a lovely video. We all look forward to her being well soon, thanks again for letting us visit and showing us around.😊 (silly🐼 is adorable LOL)

We have allotments here as well in Northern Ontario but they aren't as popular as they are in the UK. What a lovely tour of your allotment! I think the equivalent here in Canada would be what we call a “community garden”, but I don’t know anyone who has a plot as large as yours. Lucky Agnes to have you, Kate and the garden to learn from. My sister and I learned from our Yorkshire Grannie, who was a phenomenal gardener throughout her life. When she had to move into a care facility at 93 the managers built her several raised beds so that she could keep growing! It was her passion, which she passed on. All the best to Kate! ❤️ from 🇨🇦

I really enjoyed this video and thanks so much Martha, Adam and Agnes for showing us your allotment and sharing some of your life with us. It looks to be a very productive garden and I am sure you enjoy all the rewards of gardening - not just the produce. Would love to see your allotment again some time. Here in NZ more and more local communities in cities have community gardens where interested folk share in the care of a big garden and eat and/or sell the produce. There is also a huge move towards children being taught to garden at school. So fabulous to be educated about life and living as well as academic subjects. Agnes will benefit so much from learning to garden with you.Take care Kate, hope you are well enough to be back on board soon.

We have a very short growing season. Our last frost is generally around the full moon in June and our first killing frost is often in mid Sept. I helped friends assemble a 32’ greenhouse kit this past spring, and they’re so please with their first efforts at greenhouse gardening. They are definitely looking forward to extending their growing season!

You have a beautiful allotment. I always went with my dad and my Uncle Sid to their allotment and until the last few years have grown lots of veg, kept chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys. I used to help my dad prepare both chickens and chrysanthemums for showing. This was in the days when you boxed them up and put them on the train, in the guards van, and someone from the show would come and pick them up. Now I have quite bad arthritis and the poultry and the veg have gone by the way. But it was lovely to watch you in yours and relive a bit of the pleasure you get from eating what you have grown with your own hands. Thank you x

SO SWEET! I was thinking - all your veg that comes home must have a small 'chomp' from Agnes!!! The image of your flowers against that gorgeous blue wall was AMAZING! I stopped the video just to take it all in - so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your allotment and it was lovely to get to know you better - we hear so much about you! Love to Agnes! xx

Martha, I love your name. That was my mom's name. She is in heaven now, miss her so much. You have a wonderful mother, Kate is so talented and down to earth. I wish I could go visit her and learn so much from her. I know how she feels with vertigo. I got it on a plane trip back to South Carolina from Hawaii. I thought I was dying or the plane was going down. A doctor trip as soon as we got home. It was awful. Pray she will be back to happy self soon. Thank you and John for helping. 🌺🌷😽😊

Nothing makes lovingly homegrown veg taste better than to have it pre-nibbled and lightly mauled by a toddler!😅❣️😇🥰

That was lovely, thank you three for showing us a bit about your allotment and a snippet of your days. And Agnes, of course! We have community gardens in the communities here in Maine, available in most towns. Some of the private buildings in the city have garden spaces on their roofs for tenants too. It’s lovely to have the produce.

Thank you for filling in and showing us your allotment. I live in the US (grew up on a farm) and seem to have a bit of a fascination with allotments. I follow Jessie at Plot37 so have learned a lot from her. It is wonderful for Agnes to grow up learning about growing food and taking care of the poultry at Grandma’s house. Nothing better for a kid than to learn where food comes from, to pick and eat veg right off the plant, to get dirty and eat some dirt. It’s good for the mind and the immune system. Looking forward to seeing the allotment through the various seasons. Cheers!

Such a lovely visit in the garden. My mouth was watering as Agnes chomped away. Much love to Kate as she mends. I’ve had a bout of vertigo once only in my life, some 20 yrs ago, which lasted a fortnight. I never want to have it again. 😘
