What a beauty! Def what I need. Since I am only vinyl, what features can be used for vinyl only?
You can still use all the same effects! The DJM-S7 has a built in tempo reader, so the effects will sync to whatever song you’re playing on vinyl. The pads however become touch FX. You can even do a digital beat loop with vinyl using Ducking Echo.

Ok, all the cons:
- USB Hub gets disconnected if you switch from PC to Phono/Line. (Phase for example)
- No chance to use multiple FXs. You can only apply one fx at a time. One from the mixer or one from the SeratoFxs.
- MIC/AUX Signal is dry. It doesn't goes throw Serato so you can't apply FXs or looping.
- Filter mode can be change only when its connected to the computer via Pioneer software.
(I bought the mixer and I would love to know this things)
-The USB hub disconnects by design so that a DJ using HID mode can switch USB connectivity from one computer to the other, one channel at a time. This is not possible with an external USB hub. If you’re using Phase, and you don’t want your Phase to disconnect when selecting an input, it’s recommended you plug it directly to your computer.
- Multiple FX is possible when combined with DJ software FX. You can combine 1 hardware effect with up to 5 software effects. Or combine 6 software effects.
- Microphone has no hardware effects. Depending on the DJ software you’re using, you might be able to apply software effects. In rekordbox, the microphone controls in the software allow you to add 3-band EQ, talkover, feedback destroy, as well 3 effects like echo, reverb, and pitch.
Are you able to go into settings with this mixer, and adjust the cut in points with the cross fader so that the sound is instantaneous as soon as you move the fader??

Do s7 have Internal mixing mode?
The DJM-S7 is mixed through hardware.

Ok I just got one and I'm stoked for it's arrival. What is that app? That beat was fierce! I saw it was loop pack 3 techbeats but I haven't found anything on it

Very good review! Can those effects be used with vinyl? Also, can you record your sets?
Yes it can! To record your set when playing vinyl, you can either plug a portable recorder to the booth output, or if you have the computer still plugged in, simply click record in Serato.

do the color effects still work as a stand alone mixer? for example if I am using cdj's with a usb stick inserted with the color effects and toggle pad still work?
Yes. The color FX are built into the DJM-S7 and can be applied to any audio passed through the channel inputs, just like the EQ and trim.
