My girlfriend and I met Jean Marie a few years ago and she had barely aged since Ark II. She could have easily fit back in the uniform. We talked with her for a while and she is a really sweetheart

It always amazes me how many shows from my childhood actually weren't around that long, and yet I remember them so vividly decades later. Also interesting that this, Space 1999, and Star Trek TMP had such similar ideas for the uniforms

Ah, Ark II, Shazam, Isis, Space Academy and Jason of Star Command. All adventure shows for kids in live action back in the 70s. Jean Marie Han was one of first crushes as a boy.
All were fun for me as a kid. All this plus Hilarious House of Frightenstein (a local show) along with the prime time stuff in repeat like Lost In Space, Land of The Giants, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Thanks for bringing these memories for me! 👍🎉

I must confess one of the things I loved about the original Johnny Quest was there was no weekly "moral of the story". Just Race Bannon kicking ass, taking names, an obviously banging spy babes in one episode.

Hi Dan.......as you probably know, anyone can talk about the stuff you discuss on your channel, however, it's the presentation and articulation that makes the difference. and yours is excellent. I was 14 when the show premiered and although I loved it, I was confused by the fact that there was no bathroom/shower or sleeping quarters aboard the ARK. Had they not had to garage the ROAMER, perhaps those thing would have fit. Take care.

I loved Ark II as a kid. It was one of those shows that if even the opening wa missed I'd be deflated for the most if not all the Morning/afternoon. It had everything: a kid to project into, a cool lead guy to project my future self into, someone to crush on and a talking chimp. It espescially helped growing up in the South West and getting to see the land out my window reflected in their adventures. But we just couldn't where they toys were. Where was Remco's utility belt version of this show? Where were the action figures and coloring books? Was there even a comic series? (Charlton, maybe?). Great video, great details I never knew.

I love the fact that you actually got to talk about the use of Star Trek sound effects, despite not seeing the show, I’m very well aware of filmation’s sound effects.
They kept using I assume copies made of the Star Trek library up until the late 80s, and they most likely gave copies to other studios like Marvel productions and so on

". . . every episode began and ended with a numbered entry into the Ark II's log by Commander Jonah, which more often than not contained the weekly moral that the kids learned while watching that particular show. Wow, morals and kid's television, certainly something you're not going to see in 2024." And this, my friends, is why the world is a desolate place in the 25th century.
